SportRack Escape 3 Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2013 Ford Escape- Video
Today on our 2013 Ford Escape, well be test fitting the Sport Rack Escape Three Bike Hitch Mounted Folding Bike Rack for inch and a quarter and two inch hitches, part number a30403. Now to begin our test fit using the included adapter for the two inch hitch, well slide the shank into the hitch, line up the hitch pin hole, and install and tighten down the anti-rattle bolt, with the bolt tight our bike rack is secured to the vehicle. Well now go ahead and give you a few measurements. Our ground clearance here at the back of the bike rack measures 11-3/4 inches and from the closet point of the bike rack here at the mask to the back of the vehicle measures eight inches. We can now pull the pin here at the bottom of the mask which will allow us to bring the mask down. We can then open up our cargo door and as you can see we can still gain access to the cargo area even with this bike rack secured to the vehicle. more

Thule Apex 4 Swing Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2013 Ford Escape- Video
Today on our 2013 Ford Escape, well be test fitting the Thule Apex Swing Four Bike Carrier, part number th9027. Well begin by sliding the bike rack shank into the hitch and allowing the integrated locking hitch pin to fall into the hitch pin hole. We can then move to the anti-rattle knob where well tighten the knob down securing our bike rack to the vehicle. Well now go ahead and give you a few measurements, our ground clearance measures 11-1/2 inches and from the closest point of the bike rack here at the anti-rattle knob to the back of the vehicle measures one and half inches. Well now go ahead and pull the hitch switch at the top of the mask and bring out our dual arms where well undo the straps to expose our cradles. Well place the bike into the cradles and bring the straps around securing the bike to the bike rack. more

Today on our 2013 Ford Escape, well be test fitting the Swagman Titan Four Bike Carrier for inch and a quarter and two inch hitches, part number s63410. Now to begin our test fit using the included two inch adapter well slide the shank of the bike rack into the hitch, line up the hitch pin hole, and install and tighten down the anti-rattle bolt. With the bolt tight our bike rack is secured to the vehicle. Well now go ahead and give you a few measurements, our ground clearance here at the back of the bike rack measures 14-1/4 inches and from the closet point of the bike rack to the back of the vehicle here at the mask measures eight and a quarter inches. Well now go ahead and pull the switch here at the base of the mask which will allow us to bring the mask down, where we can then open our cargo door. As you can see we can gain access to the cargo area with this bike rack secured to the vehicle. more

There is about 12 inches of ground clearance, closets part of the vehicle to the closets part of the carrier is about 11 inches here at the rear bumper. With the cradle arms folded down, weve added about 15 inches to the overall length of the vehicle. Now well go ahead and unscrew the knobs on the left and right side of the carrier to swing the cradle arms out. more

To being our test fit, well slide the shank of the carrier into the opening of the hitch, align up our pin holes, insert the pin with the red knob into the pin hole and then turn the black knob located at the base of the carrier to engage our anti-rattle device. Now lets go over some clearance measurements to see how the bike carrier and this vehicle fit together. There are about 17 and a half inches of ground clearance. The closest part of the vehicle to the closest part of the carrier is about five and a half inches. Weve added about 12 and a half inches to the overall length of the vehicle. With this bike carrier, you will not be able to have access to your trunk bed as the tailgate hits the mast of the carrier. To load the bike, well pull the red latch located at the top of the mast, swing the cradle arms out and undo the cradle straps. more

Now well go ahead and give you a few measurements, our ground clearance at the bike rack is 23-1/8 inches and from the closet point of the bike rack to the back of the vehicle is 10-1/2 inches. Now well go ahead and unfold the bike rack platform and open our cargo door and as you can see we can gain full access to the cargo area opening our cargo door completely with this bike rack. Were now almost ready to load our bike, all we need to do is make sure that our wheel loop straps are undone and out of the way and that our vertical bar clamp is fully extended. more

SportRack EZ Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2005 Ford Expedition- Video
Today on our 2005 Ford Expedition well be test fitting the Sportrack II hitch mounted bike carrier, part number A30901. To mount our carrier to the vehicle well insert the shank of the carrier into the receiver tube of the hitch. Well line up our hitch pin hole, thread in our anti-rattle bolt, and tighten it down using a wrench. Next well go over a handful of clearance measurements. Weve got about 18 inches of ground clearance and about 10 inches of clearance between the closest part of the carrier and the closest part of the vehicle. Overall weve added about 30 inches of length to the rear of the vehicle. more

Thule Apex 4 Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2011 Ford Edge- Video
Today on our 2011 Ford Edge well be test fitting part number TH9025. This is the Thule Apex four bike carrier for both inch and a quarter and two inch hitches. A quick note on this bike rack, this bike rack will work on both inch and a quarter and two inch hitches Class I through Class III, however when using in a Class I hitch you are limited to two bikes. Well begin by sliding the bike rack shank into the hitch and allowing the integrated locking hitch pin to fall into the hitch pin hole. Well then move to the anti-rattle knob where well tighten it down, securing the bike rack to the vehicle. Well now go ahead and give you a few measurements. more

To begin our test fit, using the included adapter for the two inch hitch well slide the bike rack shank into the hitch, line up the hitch pin hole and install and tighten down our anti-rattle bolt. With the bolt tight our bike rack is secured to the vehicle. Now well go ahead and give you a few measurements. Our ground clearance at the bike rack is 13 inches and from the closest point of the bike rack to the back of the vehicle is seven inches. Well now go ahead and unfold the bike rack platform and open our cargo door. more

Pro Series Q-Slot Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2011 Ford Edge- Video
Today on our 2011 Ford Edge well be test fitting the Pro Series Q-Slot platform style two bike carrier, part number PS63134. Using the included adapter for the two inch hitch well slide our bike rack into the hitch, line up the hitch pin hole and install our hitch pin. We can then put our safety clip on the other side of the pin, which will secure our bike rack to the vehicle. Well now go ahead and give you a few measurements. Our ground clearance at the bike rack is 13 inches, and from the closest point on the bike rack to the back of the vehicle is seven inches. Well now go ahead and unfold the bike rack platform and open our cargo door. more
