If you're looking for my favorite set of chains, these are it. They're super, super simple to install. And the nice thing about these are they are going to have a diamond pattern and they will have a manganese nickel, alloy construction. But, the cool thing about this is if you have maybe some ice or something like that we are going to have some icebreakers in the middle which are basically just plates, but these are going to be really good for increasing attraction. more

They are going to have a better traction than the SAS class certified chains just because of the larger links. These are SAE "S" Class certified tire chains, which are nice for our Highlander, just because we don't have a whole lot of wheel-well clearance. And they are going to be made of a Manganese Nickel Alloy steel, square links all the way around. We're going to have these cross chains making a diamond pattern. This does not come with its own tensioner. You can also pick up these separate tensioners if you feel like you do not have the best fit on your wheel. Andy: Hello everyone, Andy is here with etrailer.com and today we're going to take a look at the Titan Chain Snow Tire Chains, on our 2021 Toyota Tacoma. This chain is a ladder pattern style, as you can see the chains go over the tires in this direction here, that is going to help with starting, stopping and traction in deeper snow and add a little bit extra traction when it comes to driving on ice. They are a low carbon steel construction that is going to be durable and strong. As you can see, it is a rounded twisted link and what that is going to do is provide a little bit more comfort and drivability and there is a little bit smoother ride compared to something that might be a little bit more aggressive. In our bag here, with our kit, it does come in a canvas bag and we do have two chains, one for each side.One thing that's nice about this is its easy to store whether it's in the back of your cab or in the bed of your truck also when it comes to installing this, I recommend maybe picking up some gloves that you leave either in the bag or even a mat or a tarp that way when you're kneeling or laying down to install the links on the backside you're not getting your clothes all wet or snowy. So with our Tacoma here, we do have a lot of room in our wheel weld that is going to make it all easy to get on the backside of that tire to get everything installed, but let's go ahead and take a look at that now. more

This is a diamond shaped snow tire chain with square links. What that means is because of this diamond shape you have larger wheel coverage as compared to maybe your traditional ladder style chains. So these aren't going to be extremely aggressive, like the V-bar style, but the V-bar style is basically the same chain, but just with some Vs on it. So if you're looking for something that's not as aggressive as the V-bar style, and it's going to make maybe your ride a little bit more smooth, these are what you want to go with. They are going to wear away relatively evenly because they're all uniform across all of the chains. more

That's not the easiest to do, but since we have so much clearance between the bottom of our pickup and the ground, it's not going to be too difficult. One thing I really like about these is this is pretty much the most aggressive type of chain you can get. more

These are relatively bigger twist links, so of all the twist link options we have for our Tundra, these are going to be the most aggressive.These are like V-Bar style chains, but less aggressive, but smoother. The V-Bar styles are exactly like this, but just with the little dagger in there so if you have a little bit more heavier conditions, you might want to check the V-Bar style out.These, I think are going to give you the best of both worlds. One thing I don't love about them is that we have to grab these separate rubber tensioners. It's just another thing for me to lose. more

Now this tire chain is ideal for maybe light snow conditions. So if you're going through extreme weather and you have ice, hail and sleet are all day every day, this might not be the best tire chain for you. Now this snow tire chain is pretty good if you want your smoother ride, do's with diamond shape. So if you're going through some light snow and ice, it's perfectly fine. If you have a harsher winter with a lot of snow, a lot of ice, it might not be your best option, but if you're going through a mild winter and you just want that smoother ride, this is pretty good. As you can see here, these form a diamond pattern, which allow for a smoother ride. more

It's also really ideal if your state requires that you have a tire chain inside your vehicle during the winter months.Now, before we talk about the tire chains, let's look at the box that comes in. And this is one of my favorite cases for tire case, just because it's so sturdy, it comes in this hard shell case. It also has this interesting hook and loop patch at the back. If you want to store it in your car, it attaches to your carpet and it won't slide around when you're driving around.Inside it also has some nice goodies that they add just to make the whole process a little bit easier. more

Now what's pretty cool about these tire chains are their rollers right over here, and those are there so that you have a smoother ride as compared to if you use other, maybe more heavy duty tire chains.Now these are meant for light weather conditions. So if you have light snow, or you just want to keep them in your truck for emergency purposes, that's perfectly fine. But if you have extreme weather conditions, like all day everyday, snow, sleet, hail, maybe get some heavier duty tire chains just to keep you safe.The oldest manual for our Tacoma here says to install them on the rear tires only. So we have them here on the driver's side, as well as the passenger's side. So if you have a truck like this, that's where you put them.Now, these tire chains did come in this bag here, and it was a struggle to take the tire chains out of this bag, as well as to put them back in afterwards. more

Colin: Hey guys, it's Colin here at etrailer, and today we have a 2019 Toyota Tundra, and we're going to be doing a test fit of the Titan Chain Alloy Self-tensioning Snow Tire chains. Now the tire size on our Tundra today is 275/55R20.Now, one thing I really like about these chains is that they have a really snug fit on our tire, thanks to our self-tensioning system that's built-in to the chain. It makes sure that our chains are snug against the tire. You don't have to worry about getting a separate rubber adjuster to put on your chain to keep it snug. It's going to be built-in, you never have to worry about losing it, and you're always going to get a snug fit.These chains have a diamond pattern to them. That's going to give you more coverage around the tire and thus give you better traction when you compare it to a ladder pattern style chain. more

John: Hey guys, John here from etrailer.com. Today we have our 2019 Toyota RAV4, and we're test fitting the Konig XB 16 tire chains. These tire chains have D-links in a diamond pattern, so they are going to give you a consistent ride, as opposed to ladder style chains, where it's a little more of a clunking feeling as you're running over bumps. And the D-links are the better style of chains you have, better than, let's say, cables, which give you a little bit of traction, but not as much. This is a great application for snow and ice. The tires we have on our RAV4 today are size 225/6517. more
