You don't wanna keep wet and snowy items in the back or in the car itself if they fit, and they probably won't fit in the trunk. So a carrier like this is gonna help you do that. The main reason might be because you're just having your skis and snowboards traveling with you and you're renting a car for wherever you're going. So if you wanna hit the slopes and you got your skis, you got your snowboards, you can try to fit them inside your car, but the downsides to that is that you do get snow and water all inside of your vehicle, and where do you put your friends and family So the option there is to get them onto your roof. So we have a ski and snowboard carrier here, the Yakima FreshTrack. There's a bunch of different carrier options, this one is gonna be great for if you want something that's affordable, but still has those premium features like locks and is safe and secure for those skis and snowboards. Now, there are some certain challenges with the Ford Edge that you're gonna have to work with, and let's talk about that. One challenge is that this is a taller vehicle. more

So you've got your Ford Edge and we are ready to hit the slopes but if you wanna carry around your skis and snowboards technically you could fit them inside the car but that's an easy way to get all that snow and that water inside the vehicle too. Also, where are you gonna put your friends and your family there is where a ski and snowboard carrier comes in handy. You put it on top of your roof it's out of the way, it's easy to access and you also have those locking features so it's still secure even while it's up there. The Kuat Grip is a premium ski and snowboard carrier that has a bunch of features in there just to make it easy for you to load your skis up, but also, keep them secured. And it is a sunny day here in Missouri, but what if you still need to load up your Kia Forte and get your skis and snowboards out to where you can go down those slopes Now, the way this works is it slides out to make it easier for you, maybe not as much of an important feature for a shorter sedan like this, but we'll still take a look at it. I really like the handle design of the Kuat Grip, because it makes it easy to access the carrier, but even if you have your big gloves, all you need to do is push up, and it pops the entire carrier lid up. And from here, some people would have to reach in to grab their skis and snowboards or open up the door, things like that, but you only need to press these buttons, and the entire thing slides out. So this version can carry up to four pairs of skis or two snowboards. more

But you are gonna get your car wet, you're gonna get snow in there. It's easier to have it up top. So here we have the Yakima Fresh Track Ski and Snowboard and Fishing Rod Carrier It's a great way to carry those items to your destination and I'll show you how it does it. So this is a great middle of the road option where you still have premium features like locks as well as the universal clamp but you don't have as streamlined or easy to use features. more

Today we're allowing our 2022 Tesla Model Y to do a little bit more with the Rhino Rack ski and snowboard carrier that can also carry your fishing rods in the summer months. There are some ski and snowboard carriers that cannot be used with your fly rods or any type of fishing rods, and what makes this one able to do so, you notice that the pads right here, one, they're really big, but they're not locking in like teeth. So you have two little humps right here and the same exact two humps up top. So those are gonna be great for not putting too much strain on your rod. I think that's a big thing, especially with a fly rod like this. It's very, very, very, very thin rod. more

Hey everyone, Charles here at etrailer. And today we're taking a look at the Inno gravity skiing snowboard carrier on the 2022 Subaru Outback wagon wilderness. This is gonna be a great way of transporting your gear to and from your destination while saving extra room in your vehicle, especially with your ski and snowboards you might not want to make the interior of your vehicle wet, damp, muddy, or whatever but it's gonna leave you a lot of extra room to carry a roof basket, a roof cargo basket so that you can carry your snowy winter boots or anything else like that with you on your trip. You can carry up to two snowboards or three fat skis in this carrier. And depending on the thickness of your gear then just do one click for the fatter skis and two clicks for the things that fit. It's gonna be made out of a durable plastic on some of the parts and the rest of the areas are made out of a aluminum. more

Probably one of the best features about it. Just slide those out. What makes this really great, and ease of use, is of course if your vehicle's taller and if you're shorter, but also, after you get done with your ride, you're gonna have a lot of snowy boots, you don't necessarily want to jump into the side of your car or on your seats. Hey everyone, Charles here at etrailer, and today, we're taking a look at the Yakima FatCat EVO on the 2020 Chevrolet Equinox. So this will carry four skis or two snowboards, Yakima also has a model that carries up to six skis or four snowboards. Today, we're taking a look at this one, this will probably be your more premium option as far as ski and snowboard carriers. A great feature is that it also doubles as a fishing rod carrier that will carry up to six poles. But what makes it great is that you can keep it on all year round, it is aerodynamic, but it locks into itself with these straps as well as a Same Key System on all the lock cores right here. Notice that we have these giant buttons for when you have your big winter gloves, easy to open and to load and unload your gear. more

Hey everyone, Charles here at etrailer, and today, we're taking a look at the Rhino-Rack Ski and Snowboard Carrier on the 2020 Chevrolet Equinox. So this carrier will allow you to carry four pairs of skis or two snowboards, right now we just have a pair of each, and if we scooted them closer, we could actually get two pairs of skis and a snowboard on here, but it's gonna be made out of a durable aluminum, so it's gonna be rust-free and corrosion-resistant. I like these buttons, 'cause they stick out and you could wear your thick, heavy winter gloves and still pop them open with just a simple judo chop. Super easy to load and unload just like that. On the inside, you're gonna have a thick rubber material here, keeping your gear snug and secure. The rubber also helps maintain traction for when your gear's wet from the snow, and a great thing about this is that they also double as a fishing rod holder, can carry up to six fishing poles easily with this, so you can keep them on all year round for your winter sports and then in the summertime for when you go fishing. more

Now, a couple of reasons, I like this guy, a big one for me is we actually have a locking capability. So what that's great for is actually locking this up, right Making sure that our skis and our boards are staying on top of our vehicle when we are leaving it unattended. And it just does a great job of actually securing our boards and our skis. more

And today we're taking a look at the Yakima FreshTrack snowboard and ski carrier for four skis or two boards here on our 2022 Subaru Outback Wilderness. So this is gonna be a pretty decent way of getting your skis and your boards on the roof of your vehicle and get those out of our vehicle in that way, makes it a lot easier to start road tripping with a lot of people, get all that cargo inside or even leave some room for something like a cargo box or a cargo basket on the other side. So, really do like how this system works, can make it just a little bit nicer getting to the slopes, which is great. Now I will say, I think there's a few carriers that kind of do the job better than this guy. more

Yakima Ski and Snowboard Racks Review - 2013 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited- Video
What's up Jeep owners Adam, here with etrailer today we have a 2013 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited and we're gonna be taking a look at the Yakima FreshTrack 6 ski and snowboard carrier. This carrier can be used for skis, but also fishing rods. As you can see, this is a big rod and we can't fit it in our Jeep, even if we wanted to. So this is one that isn't gonna damage your rods. I really think you can fit way more fishing rods than you can fit people in this car, 'cause it's pretty big. But it's not gonna damage your rods it's just gonna keep 'em nice and snug. more
