Today, on our 2011 GMC Acadia, we're going to be taking a look at and installing the Curt 4-pole T-connector Vehicle Wiring Harness, Part #C56056. First thing you want to do is open up the rear hatch so you have access to the back of the vehicle. With this nice area on the back side here, we'll set out everything that comes in your kit. As you can see, the 4-pole connector part will be here in the center. The black and yellow wire with the plug and play setup will go to the left, to the driver's side. The white and green with the plug and play setup will go to the passenger side with that ground wire as well. You also have your protective rubber cap that will go over to protect the connections here on the 4-pole once you have it on the back of your vehicle. more

Today, on a 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 Crew Cab, we're going to install part number HM40975. This is a Pollack 7 and 4 pole trailer connector socket with mounting bracket. There's a couple of other parts that come with the kit. This is the bracket right here that you can use to relocate your wire harness. It also comes with the hardware, 2 self-tacking screws, to install it into steel. This is our new part. more

Today on this GMC Terrain, we're going to install part number 56094. This is a Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with a four pole flat trailer connect. We'll go ahead and cover some of the components of our wire harness. First off, here's a four pole end that will go onto your trailer. After it's installed, there's a cap that goes on to it. Actually take a look at below the four poles split wire harness, the yellow wire goes to the left side, and the green wire goes to your right side. There's two t-connectors. more

Today on our 2013 GMC Terrain we're going to be installing the CURT t-connector vehicle wiring harness with a 4-pole flat trailer connector, part number 56094. Now we're going to first begin our installation by raising the rear hatch of the vehicle. With our rear hatch raised up we're going to need to remove each of the taillights. Now to do that we'll need to remove the plastic cover here as well as right here. Just a small flat head screwdriver will allow you to slide in and remove the plastic cap. With the plastic cap removed we're going to take a 10mm socket and remove the bolt from here and here. more

Today on this 2015 GMC Sierra 3500 Crew Cab we're going to install part number 41157. This is the Hopkins Endurance 5th Wheel and Gooseneck 90-Degree Wiring Harness with a 7-Pole Plug. First off you'll find the location for your 7-pole connector. This is largely personal but typically we install it in this corner right here. I think there's a nice opening below the stake pocket here that we can install it. We'll drill out a quarter inch pilot hole first and then follow up with two and an eighth inch hole saw. more

Today on our 2012 GMC Savana, we will be installing the Tow Ready T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with a 4-pole flat connector, part number 118392. The first step to installing our wiring harness is to open up the back of the van. We'll need to remove these two panels. You don't actually have to completely remove them. We can just pop out these quick connects and get the panel back out of the way. With those out of the way, you'll see our wiring harness we'll be working with here. With the wiring exposed, just press this tab in and pull our wire connector apart. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2004 GMC Safari

Today on our 2004 GMC Safari we'll be installing the Draw-Tite 4-pole Hardwire Kit, part number 18252. This kit also includes the circuit tester. When using your 4-flat wire, we will run the wire between the two lower doors making sure that we clear the door latch, yet the wire will not be crushed because the weather stripping will allow it to conform into it. When not in use we'll fold the wire back up and store it with the rest of the wire. In this case it's under a small box that is located at the right rear of the vehicle in the same area where the spare tire jack is. To begin with we'll go ahead and open up the rear doors on our vehicle. Next we will locate the wiring harness that we'll need to tie into. In this case it is located at the rear of the vehicle on the passenger side on the inside. more

Today on this 1996 GMC Jimmy 4 door, we're going to install Part Number C55411. This is a Current Vehicle Wire Harness with a 4 pole flat trailer connector. This is a wire harness with a current. This is designed to splice into the vehicle's wire harness. In this case, the Jimmy has a built-in tow package that you retrieve out behind the bumper, pull it down, open it up, and then we'll go ahead and make our attachments using the quick splice connectors. Behind the bumper on the driver's side is our tow package. We'll go ahead and cut the zip tie and pull it out. more

Fifth Wheel and Gooseneck Wiring Harness Installation - 2001 GMC Sierra

Today on our 2001 GMC Sierra, we'll be installing the Pollack 5th Wheel and Gooseneck Trailer Connector, part number PK11893-11932. Now to begin our install, we'll first go ahead and find a location to mount the new 7-pole connector and drill out our holes. In our pickup bed on the driver's side just behind the rear wheel well is a good location. Using a 2-inch hole saw bit, we'll go ahead and drill out our hole. Now in order to get our wiring harness fed from underneath and up through our hole, we'll need to remove the two fasteners that secure the mudguard here behind the wheel well. There's one just on the inside of the wheel well lip and one underneath the tail light area. Once we have the fasteners out, we can go ahead and pull the guard down. Now that we have the wire fed into position, we'll move back to the pickup bed where we'll install the wires into the back of the connector. Now when installing our wires, each connector is faintly marked with a number. more

Today in our 2012 GMC Terrain, well be installing the Curt T-Connector 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector part number 56094. To begin our install, well first go ahead and open up the rear cargo hatch. Well need to remove both rear taillight assemblies and to do this there are two fasteners that have plastic caps and then the fasteners to remove. Well go ahead and use a small screwdriver to remove the plastic caps and then we can remove the two screw fasteners underneath. Once we removed the screw fasteners, well then go ahead and pop the taillight assembly out of its current position being careful not to break the alignment tabs underneath. Now with the taillight assembly removed, well go ahead and press the manufacturers wire connector locking tab and remove it from the taillight assembly. Well go ahead and set the taillight assembly aside for reinstallation. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2001 GMC Sierra

Today on our 2001 GMC Sierra Regular Cab Two-Wheel Drive, we'll be installing the CURT Vehicle Wiring Harness Four Pull Flat Trailer Connector with 60-inch wire lead, part number C58044. To begin with, we'll go ahead and go underneath the rear of the vehicle. We need to locate the wiring harness that we'll be tying into. As you can see here, the wiring harness is located here from the factory. Now first well go ahead and strip off the ends of the wire so we can put our butt connectors on. We'll do this on our four flat end first and then we'll go ahead and put the butt connector on those. Now the kit comes with quick-splice connectors but we're going to opt to use some butt connectors instead, which are part number DW05714. You'll need a total of four of these to make the connections. more

We need to open both doors. To install the wiring harness we need to remove the interior trim panels. We're going to start over here on the driver's side. We need to remove the two screw covers, and for this we're using the trim remover tool but you can also use a flat headed screwdriver. more

Today on our 2010 GMC Arcadia we'll be installing Curt T-connector vehicle wiring harness with a 4 pull trailer connector, part number C56056. The first thing we'll need to do is gain access to the back of the Arcadia. With the tailgate open we'll remove these tabs on the tail light and then remove those 2 bolts. With the 2 bolts removed, we just pop the tail light right out of place. Next, pop that tab up and slide the wiring harness out. Repeat that process on the passenger side of the vehicle. Now that the tail light's off we can start running the wiring harness. more

Fifth Wheel Wiring Harness Installation - 2014 GMC Sierra 2500

Today on our 2014 GMC Sierra, we'll be installing the Bargman fifth wheel Gooseneck 90-degree wiring harness with seven-pole plug, part number 54701-003. We'll go ahead and choose a location to mount our seven-way plug. I know we need to put a pilot hole through the bed. We're going to make sure on the back side that there's nothing that could be damaged. Once we have our quarter-inch pilot hole drilled, we'll come back with a two-inch hole saw. Now we'll take our end of the wiring harness that has two plugs on it and feed it to the hole we just drilled. Now that we have our wires fed down through the two-inch hole, we'll go ahead and take a small drill bit and put a pilot hole into each of the four mounting locations on the plug. Once we have a pilot hole on each of the four locations, we'll go ahead and put the self-tapping screws in place securing the plug to the bed of the truck. Now we'll go and take the end of our wire and route it over into the back of our factory seven-way plug. Now that we have our wires routed over to the backside of the factory seven way, we'll need to unplug the factory seven-way plug. To do this, we'll remove the small gray locking tab. more

Today on this 2012 GMC Sierra, we're going to install part number PK11916. First thing we need to do is go ahead and remove the cap that is on bumper of our truck. We'll push down a small tab and rotate it and it will come through. Then the back side of the cap is a factory towing package and its wire harness. We're going to pull them out a little bit and we'll release the cap from the harness. There's a small white lock that we have to remove then we'll push down at the center of the latch so we can pull the cap off the wire harness. more

Today on this 2012 GMC Acadia, we're going to be installing Tow Ready Trailer Harness, part number 118451. The first thing we need to do is remove the tail lights. There are two screws holding in each tail light housing. We'll use a small flat headed screwdriver to pop open the covers and use a 7-mm socket to remove the screws and remove our two tail lights. Be careful as you pry the mount not to break off the positioning tabs or tear the wiring. With the tail light out, we'll go ahead and disconnect it from the vehicle's factory harness. more

Today on our 2012 GMC Sierra Denali, were going to install the Bargman seven pole harness, part number 50-97-410. The first step of our installation is to locate a suitable spot for our seven pole connector. Here in the bed of the truck, is an excellent location, as behind it we have enough clearance before we meet the outside of the fender. Next well need to drill a two inch hole to feed our wire through.Now with our hole made, we can go ahead and take the new seven pole harness and carefully feed it through the hole. You want to be very careful because the edges that we just created by drilling the hole will be very sharp. Now weve got our seven pole into position, we can go ahead and use the cell tapping screws provided with our install kit to secure it.Now underneath the vehicle well go ahead and start routing our wire over to the back of the bumper. more

Today on our 1996 GMC Savana Conversion Van, we're going to install the Tow Ready T1 Connector, part number 118335. We'll start by opening up the rear cargo access doors. On conversion vans you can either remove the side trim panels or in this case we're going to remove the side speakers to gain access to the wiring. Lets go ahead and do that now. With the speaker removed, we can see the wiring here behind the taillight as we'll need to access the plug. We'll separate the plug and plug our tow ready harness in line with the manufacturers wiring. more

Today in this 2012 GMC Canyon were going to install the Hopkins 4-Pole Wiring Kit part# 41165. The 4-Pole Wiring Kit installs in line with the manufacturer's wiring. First we'll disconnect the manufacturer's plug here above the spare tire, now we can go ahead and take our new 4-Pole Connector and plug it in line with the manufacturer's wiring. Once we get it plugged in we can go ahead and route our wiring and mount the converter box. To mount the converter box I'm just going to use a black zip tie and attach it directly to the frame. Then I can route my 4-Pole Connector over to the hitch. more

Today on the 2012 GMC Canyon we're going to install a toe ready T1 connector, part number 118384. Press on the locking tab and disconnect it from the manufacturer's wiring. Then we can take our toe-ready connector and plug it in line with the manufacturer's wiring. With my connector plugged in, I'll now go and take a couple of black set of ties just to secure my wires. With our wires secured and our plug routed to the hitch, that completes the install of our toe ready T1 connector, part number 118384. . more

Today were working on 2007 GMC Sierra. Were going to install the Pollack 7-Pole Connector part # pk11916. Before we remove the knockout here in the bumper I'm go ahead and get disconnect the current harness that's connected to the knockout behind the bumper. For the easy in installation of shooting this video we've going to have removed this bare tire and you see the connector goes into the knockout here. At the top side of the harness connector is a locking pin make sure you'd pressed it before trying to remove. You'll see here is a lock now we've it removed we go and take the knockout out of the bumper. more

Today we are working on a 2010 GMC Sierra. We are going to install a 7 pole connector by Pollack, part number pk11916. Our first step is to get underneath the vehicle here and locate the current manufacturers harness. On the top side of this, you will notice a bump out in the round connector, theres a lock on the back side of that connector, you will need to press and disconnect. Now I am going to go ahead and let the vehicle down and take a look at the outside part of the current connector. This piece is just a knock out, its where our new connector is going to mount its not an actual connector at this time. more

Today on this 2009 GMC Sierra, we are going to be installing the Pollak 7-Pole Twist-In Style Connecter. Okay, we are here at the rear bumper of our Sierra, and if you look here, mounted is a dummy plug for our connector. We are going to twist this out and plug our new connector right in line to it. So to remove our knockout plug, if you go to the outside outboard side of it here, you can see that there is a little tab there. We press that in. We just want to go ahead and rotate the plug, and pull it right out of there. Attached on the back side is the connector for our tow package. If you look right on top here, there is a little release tab. Press that in, and go ahead and separate the two pieces. 0:44 more

Today we are working on a 2008 GMC Acadia. We will be installing Tow Ready T-one connector part number 118451. Our first step will be to access the rear cargo area of the vehicle. We are going to remove these two tabs and the bolts underneath them so that we can remove the taillight lens. We will repeat this process on both sides. OK, you can see we have uncovered the two hold down bolts. We are going to go ahead and remove them now. OK, now that we have our hold downs removed, I am going to go ahead and pop the lens assembly off of the vehicle. You can see here is our taillight wiring. We are going to go ahead and disconnect it from the lens now also. It may be necessary to take a small screw driver just to help pull the locking tab back while you disconnect it. Be very gentile as to not break the locking tab. We will go ahead and set out lens assembly aside for now and we will repeat the same process on the passenger side. 0:59 more

Today we will be working on a 2011 GMC Acadia, installing Tow Ready T-One connector part number 118451. We will start by accessing the rear cargo area of the vehicle. There are two fastening points for the tail light lens that needs to be removed. We are going to do that now. We will pop the driver side tail light lens out, you can see the manufacturers connector. It may be necessary to use a small screwdriver. We are going to pry up on the locking tab and disconnect the wire. We want to do it gently to make sure we do not break the tab. :42 more

Today on this 2001 GMC Sonoma we are going to install part number 118359 from Tow Ready. This is their T-one wiring harness. The first thing we need to do is separate the factory connectors which are on the driver side frame rail. We pull back on this latch right here and pull it apart. OK, take the T-harness and let us plug them back together. Now we will take our ground screw and run it right directly to the frame. We will just take our wire harness now and we are just going to route it over to the center of the hitch. Within a matter of minutes we are finished with our install. And there you have it for part number 118359. more

Today on this 2009 GMC Sierra 1500 series we are going to be installing the twist-in 7-pole connector part number PK11916. We are at the rear of the vehicle and we are just left of the license plate. Newer Silverados and Sierras have the built in hole for the 7-pole connector right in the bumper. What we have in place right now is a dummy plug so we are going to remove that and plug our connector in line. What we need to do to remove the dummy plug is if you look on the outboard side there is a little tab. Take a flat head screwdriver and press that in and take and turn the dummy plug counter clockwise and then pull it right out. 00:39 more

Today on this 2009 GMC Acadia we are going to be installing part number 118451 from Tow Ready. We are at the rear of the vehicle now and we are going to be removing the driver side and passenger side tail lights. We are on the driver side right now. We are going to pop these plastic caps out that are protecting our screws so pop those off and we will have lanyard that is holding them in position. We are going to remove the bolts that are holding in our tail light. It is going to be the same on the passenger side as well. Then we are just going to pull out our tail light assembly and disconnect it. Take this tab here and pull it back and it will pop out. We are going to set the tail light aside and we are going to remove the passenger side tail light as well. 00:46 more

Today on this 2003 GMC Savana Van we are going to be installing tow package wiring harness part number 118240. The tow package port on this GMC Savana is located inside the rear cargo area behind the interior panel here on the passenger side. We need to remove a few fasteners here to gain access to it, there are a few buttons here that are covering the fasteners. We just want to take a screwdriver and pop those off. You should be able to gain access by removing just these two fasteners, but if need be you can remove the third one up top here. :29 more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2008 GMC Acadia 118451

Today we are going to be installing wiring harness part number 118451 on a 2008 GMC Acadia. OK, we are here at the back side of the vehicle and the attaching points for our wiring harness are actually located directly behind the tail light assemblies themselves on both sides of the vehicle. So the first thing we want to do is to go ahead and remove them. There are two black caps on each one of the assemblies. You need to pop those back, and that will give us access to the fasteners that are holding the tail light assembly on. We are going to remove those fasteners and pull the tail light assembly off to gain access to the connectors themselves. We just take a little flatheaded screwdriver and pop that right back. And as you can see, there is a regular hex head screw in there. And you want to be careful when you are doing that to make sure you do not break the locking tabs. And we are just going to take a little 7-millimeter socket here and remove the bolts. With both screws removed, we want to go ahead and gently pry away the tail light assembly. There are two aligning tabs here on the back side. You want to make sure that those do not break. You just want to gently kind of wiggle it back and forth until they release. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2006 GMC Sierra

Today we are going to install a 4-pole and 7-pole connector by Hoppy, part number 30955, on a 2006 GMC Sierra. This wiring connector that we are installing goes right into the factory connector. So I would start with lowering the spare tire for good visibility. You are going to want to take the existing wiring down so you can use this excess slack to run it to the bumper so you can mount the connector. Once you get the wiring harness taken down and the cap pulled off, then you are going to need to mount your mounting bracket to the bumper. Once you find a good location, mount the bracket with the self-tapping screws. more
