Today on our 2005 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD crew cab we're going to be installing the Firestone Ride-Rite air helper springs, part number F2250. Now before we install our air bags we're going to go ahead and take a couple measurements to get a baseline for the vehicle. From the ground to the bottom of the fender well we have 40-1/2". Next we're going to go ahead and install a water tank with a little over 1,500 pounds of weight in it into the bed of the truck. Now we'll go ahead and take another measurement from the ground to the bottom of the wheel well. Now we have a measurement of about 38" from the ground to the bottom of the wheel well. more

Today on our 2005 Chevy Silverado, well be installing the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Air Helper Springs, part number AL57275. First, well go ahead and show you the performance of the Air Lift Air Helper Springs. Now to begin our install, well first remove the manufacturers bump stops. The bump stops are secured to the frame with two bolts. Well go and remove the bolts and then the bump stop. Next, well start assembling the air spring. more

Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System Installation - 2005 Chevrolet Silverado

Today on our 2005 Chevy Silverado, we'll be installing the Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System, part number TGMRCK25S. To begin our install, we'll first need to remove the old or manufactured bump stops. To remove the bump stops, we'll remove the two nuts that secure the studs that go up through the frame. With both nuts removed, we can then pull the bump stop down and out of the frame. Now we'll go ahead and set the hardware and bump stop aside as it will not be reinstalled. Next we'll go ahead and repeat the same process on the passenger side. Note with this install, each process we do on one side will get repeated identically on the opposite side. Now with both of the old bump stops removed, we're ready to go ahead and begin the assembly of the new Timbren Suspension Enhancement System. more

Today on our 2005 Chevy Silverado well be installing the Firestone Work Right Helper Spring kit, part number F8605. First, before we install our kit well need to remove the old or manufacturers bump stops. To do this well simply go ahead and raise the vehicle, take the weight off the rear axle and then remove the nut, securing the stud that goes up through the bump stop and holds it to the frame. Now with the old bump stop out of the way were ready to go ahead and start installing the new Work Right Helper Springs. The Helper Spring kit can be modified for the vehicle or ride necessary. For a stronger, stiffer ride we can take the helpers spring, along with the long bolt provided in our install kit, add a split-lock washer, flat washer, and go up through the spring. more

Timbren Rear Suspension System Installation - 2005 Chevrolet Silverado

Today on our 2005 Chevy Silverado, well be installing the Rear Timbren Suspension Enhancement System, part number TGMRCK15S. Before beginning installing our Timbrens, well first go ahead and raise the vehicle, allowing the rear axle to hang down further, giving us more access for removing the old bump stop and installing the new Timbren ion spring. To remove the manufacturers bump stop, well simply go ahead and remove the nut as it goes through a stud to the frame, securing it in position. Once we remove the nut, we can go ahead and remove the bump stop and were ready to install the new ion spring. To install the new spring, well use a new hardware provided with the install kit. It will be a bolt that will go to the flat washer already installed inside the spring and up to the top collar. more

Today on this 2005 Chevrolet Silverado, well be installing part number F2320, the Firestone Fort Ride Air Helper Springs. We have all the parts in our car here. First well take our air fitting and screw it into place. Run it down until it stops and then will have to turn more. Now take the bracket and set it on top, and then install our two 3/8 bolts. Well go ahead and tighten those down. more
