Speaker 1: Today we're going to be taking a look at the best hitch options for the 2012 Volkswagen Routan. This is going to be our Class II, and these two are going to be our Class III hitches. Your Curt and your Draw-Tite are going to mount the exact same way. You're going to have three mounting points on your driver side, two of them on your passenger side. Now on the Class II Draw-Tite, you're only going to have two mounting points on the driver side and two mounting points on the passenger side. All three hitches use existing hardware that's already on the vehicle.Your Curt hitches are going to require a stabilization strap. more

Today on our 2012 Volkswagen Routan we'll be installing Hidden Hitch part number 90169. This is what our hitch will look like once it's installed. Next we'll go ahead and give you a couple measurements to assist your selecting accessories for your new hitch. From the center of the hitch pin hole to the outer most edge of the bumper is 7 1/4 inches. From the top of the receiver tube opening to the ground is 12 1/2 inches. This will assist you selecting accessories such as a ball mount, a bike rack or a cargo carrier. Now let's go ahead with the installation.
