Best 2009 Mercury Mariner Hitch Options

Today we're going to be taking a look at the best hitches available for the 2009 Mercury Mariner. These hitches are both Class 3 hitches, we've got the Curt here with the 2 inch by 2 inch receiver tube opening. It's part number is 13650. I'll follow that up with the Draw Tite, also with the 2 inch by 2 inch receiver tube opening, part number 75751. Both of our our hitches are extremely, extremely similar in design, especially the way they go on the vehicle almost identical there. Looks are really very, very similar although we're going to show you here in a minute that the Curt is a little bit higher to the inside tap edge of the receiver tube opening that our Draw Tite. This is going to give us the maximum ground clearance of any accessories we might choose. Also, the Curt has a flush style reinforcement collar that you see here. more

Today on our 2009 Mercury Mariner, we're gonna take a look at and also show you how to install the Draw-Tight custom fit class 3 trailer hitch receiver, offering the 2" by 2" opening, the part number is 75751. This is what our hitch is going to look like installed. You'll see we've got our main cross tube; it's going to be rounded, it comes down, meets here in the middle at the receiver tube opening. A little bit of a gap there, between the bottom of the fascia and the top of that receiver tube. Here you'll see the rounded style reinforcement collar around the end and our safety chain connection points here. This has an oval-shaped hole in them, should have plenty of room there to get safety chains or whatever else connected you might need to. This is a class 3 hitch, so this is an extremely versatile hitch: cargo carriers, bike racks. To secure all of those items in place, we're going to be using the pin hole that's closest to the front of the vehicle. more
