Best 2018 Mazda CX-9 Trailer Hitch Options

Hello, neighbors. it's Brad here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look at the best trailer hitch options for a 2018 Mazda CX-9. Now we're gonna be looking at three of the best options. In my personal opinion, our neighbor today has an inch and a quarter installed on their CX-9, and that's because they already have a bike rack that is an inch and a quarter configuration. But if unless you're in that situation, I would highly suggest looking at the two inch, not only do you get more applications as far as accessories, but also you get more weight capacity. Now, the three that we have here today are going to be the Curt, the etrailer and then the Draw-Tite. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Mazda CX9, we're going to be taking a look and showing you how to install, the Draw-Tite Class III Custom Fit Trailer Hitch Receiver, part number 76020.Here's what our hitch is going to look like once we have it installed. We're mainly just going to see the receiver tube sticking out, and that's because the cross tube is going to be hidden behind the bumper nicely. Our hitch is going to offer us a 2 inch by 2 inch receiver tube opening, which is going to be great for all kinds of accessories, all the way from a ball mount, a bike rack, or a cargo carrier. The way we're going to mount all those, is going to be through the forward hole here. Now the hole towards the back of our receiver tube, that's going to be exclusively for the J pin stabilization device. Now the way this is going to work, is we're going to put it in through the hitch pin hole and this hook here is going to come in to that secondary hole, and it's going to apply pressure to our accessories making sure that they don't rattle around and make a lot of noise when we're driving down the road. Now it is also a locking device, so it'll keep our accessories nice and secure to our vehicle. Our safety inaudible 00:01:13 connection point, is going to be a loop style. It's kind of a rolled steel stock, welded to the bottom of our receiver tube, and you can see you're not going to have too much trouble getting large sized hooks on or off. more
