etrailer Trailer Hitch Installation - 2017 Mazda CX-5

Hi there Mazda owners. Today, on your 2017 Mazda CX-5, we're gonna be having a look at, and showing you, how to install etrailer's Class 3, 2-Inch Trailer Hitch Receiver. The cross tube is hidden completely behind the bumper, but you don't need to remove the fascia to install it, so that's nice. You're only gonna see the receiver here at the back, and it does stick out a little bit, it is, kind of, noticeable because of how far it sticks back, but I don't think it detracts from the looks of the vehicle too much. This hitch uses a five eighths inch hitch pinning clip. Now, one doesn't come included with the hitch, but we've got plenty available, here at etrailer. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2017 Mazda CX-5 - Curt

Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Mazda CX-5 we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Curt Class II Custom Fit Trailer Hitch Receiver, part number C12170.Here's what our hitch looks like once we have it fully installed. It is going to tuck up nicely behind the bumper, and all we're really going to see is that receiver tube sticking out. It's a class II hitch, which means it's going to give us that 1-1/4" by 1-1/4" receiver tube opening. As you can see, it has a nice reinforced collar not only giving it that added strength, but a nice clean finished look. All of your accessories are going to mount right here with the pin hole, and it's going to accept a standard 1/2" pin and clip, which they are included in our kit, which is always nice. Our safety chain connection point is going to be a loop style underneath welded to the bottom of the receiver tube, and it's just slightly offset from the pin hole, so it's going to have plenty of room to get most size hooks on or off, and we're not going to have to worry about anything interfering.Your hitch is going to have a 350 pound tongue weight along with a 3,500 pound gross trailer weight rating. more
