Today on our 2010 Ford Escape, we'll be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver.This is what our hitch looks like. It's going to be a 2" x 2" hitch receiver. You're going to be able to tow those bike racks, cargo carrier, or even put a ball mount in it. So, here you'll our hitch pinhole, and you're going to want to use the one closest to the vehicle, and just show you quick. Slide your pin in there and put your clip on. This pin is not included, but we have plenty here at etrailer.com that you can pick up.This hole here's going to be for your J-pin. more

Best 2010 Ford Escape Hitch Options

Today we're going to be taking a look at the best hitch options for your 2010 Ford Escape. First, we've got the CURT class 3 receiver hitch, part number 13650. Then we've got the Draw-Tite class 3 receiver hitch, part number 75751. CURT also has class 3 hitch, part number C13651, that's not on the rack. It's going to look exactly the same and give us the same features. The only difference is you're only able to use it on Escapes that come with the factory 1-1/4" hitch. The biggest difference that we're going to see between these two hitches is that the Draw-Tite is going to have higher weight capacities than the CURT. more

Today on our 2010 Ford Escape, we'll be installing the CURT hitch, part number C12060. This is what a hitch will look like once it's installed. Next we're going to give you a couple measurements to assist you in selecting accessories for your new hitch. From the center of the hitch fit hole to the outermost edge of the bumper, is 2 inches. From the top of the receiver tube opening to the ground, is 16 1/4 inches. This will assist you in selecting accessories such as a ball mount, bike rack, or cargo carrier. Now we'll go ahead with the installation. To begin our install, we'll first go ahead and point out our attachment points. more

Before we get started with the installation of the trailer hitch we are going to show you a couple of the final installed dimensions which will help make choosing your hitch accessories a little bit easier. From the top of the receiver tube opening to the ground is going to measure 16 inches and from the center of the pin hole to clear the rear edge of the bumper is going to be approximately one inch. 00:22 more
