Now, before we get too carried away talking about the differences and similarities between the two, I'd like to point out which one I would personally choose for my own Malibu. Today on our 2009 Chevrolet Malibu, we're going to take a look at and show you how to install the draw type, custom fit class 2 trailer hitch receiver. This has an inch and a quarter opening, it's part number is 36479. Here is what your hitch is going to look like once you get it installed, real clean simple looking hitch. All of your main bracing and your main cross tubes and everything, they're kind of hidden up there behind the bumper, but you've got just your receiver tube that comes back here that's going to be a half inch pin hole, so all your half inch pin hole accessories will work with it. You've got nice large safety chain connection points here so really any type should click on and off of there very easily. Now as far as hauling goes, you're going to have a 300 pound ton weight rating and a 3500 gross trailer ton weight rating for the hitch. more

Today on this 2009 Chevrolet Malibu, we're going to install part number 90194 from Hidden Hitch. This is what the hitch looks like when it's installed on the vehicle. Next, well go ahead and give you some measurements thatll help you out in selecting some accessories, such as a bicycle rack or a cargo carrier. From the top of the receiver opening down to the ground will be nine and a quarter inches. From the center of the hitch pinhole, the outside edge of the bumper will be seven inches. Now, well go ahead and show you how the hitch is installed. more
