Today on our 2017 Chevrolet Equinox, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the etrailer class III custom fit trailer hitch receiver. Here's what our hitch is going to look like once we have it installed. It's going to be pretty well-hidden behind the bumper, but right in the center where that cutout is, is where our receiver tube's going to stick out. It's a class III hitch, so we're going to get a two inch by two inch receiver tube opening and have a really wide variety of accessories that are going to be available.Now, the way we're going to mount any of our accessories is through the hitch pin hole here on the side, and it is going to accept a standard five eighths pin and clip. Now, these are not included in the kit, but you can pick them up here at etrailer.com, along with some locking devices to keep your accessories secure. Our safety chain connection points are going to be a plate style welded to the bottom of the receiver tube, and as you can see, we'll have plenty of room to get most size hooks on or off.As far as weight capacity goes, our hitch is going to have a 350 pound tongue weight, which is the maximum downward force of the receiver tube, alone with a 3,500 pound gross trailer weight rating. more

Best 2017 Chevrolet Equinox Trailer Hitch Options- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Chevrolet Equinox we'll be having a look at our best trailer hitch options. On the top we have the Draw-Tite Class 3. In the middle we have our CURT Class 3. On the bottom we have our etrailer.com Class 3. First we'll give you a brief summary. As far as weight capacity goes, we found that the Draw-Tite hitch here was the winner because it does have higher weight capacities than the other two hitches. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2017 Chevrolet Equinox - Curt- Video
Today in our 2017 Chevrolet Equinox, we'll be installing a Curt Class II trailer hitch receiver. Part Number C12291. Here's what a hitch looks like installed. As you can see it's nice and hidden underneath our bumper cover here. The only part that really sticks out is the Class II 1-1/4 opening right here and our safety chain loops which are on this angular plate right here below our hitch receiver. Easy to use. If you have some larger diameter safety chains on your trailer, you may need to swap out to a smaller one so they can fit through this opening easy. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2017 Chevrolet Equinox - Draw-Tite- Video
Today in our 2017 Chevrolet Equinox we'll be installing the Draw-Tite Max Frame Class 3 Trailer Hitch Receiver, part number 76028. Here's what our hitch looks like installed. As you can see it's nice and tucked up underneath our bumper here, has a very clean look. This nice welded-on collar outside the receiver gives it a finished appearance and helps give it some more strength. Towards the front of our vehicle we have our industry standard 5/8 inch diameter hitch pin hole right here. Towards the rear we have a J pin stabilization device hole. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2017 Chevrolet Equinox - Draw-Tite 36408- Video
Today on our 2017 Chevrolet Equinox we'll be installing the Draw-Tite class two trailer hitch receiver, part number 36408. Here's what our hitch looks like installed. As you can see, it's a nice clean look. It's all pretty much hidden behind our bumper cover here. The only part that's exposed is our actual class two 1-1/4" receiver opening and our safety chain loops, and about a foot or so of our frame of the hitch itself. These safety chain loops are nice and easy to use. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2017 Chevrolet Equinox - Curt 13591- Video
Today on our 2017 Chevrolet Equinox we'll be installing the curt class three trailer hitch receiver, part number 13591. Here's what our hitch looks like installed. As you can see it's a nice clean look underneath our vehicle. Nothing's hanging down below the bumper cover at all. It's all hidden bu our receiver. If you look at it, it's about flush with the back end of the bumper, it's recessed a little bit actually. We don't have to worry about running our knees or shins into it when we're loading any cargo in to our hatch area. more
