Best 2012 Chevrolet Colorado Hitch Options- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2012 Chevrolet Colorado we'll be having a look at our best hitch options. On the top we have a Draw-Tite Class 3, part number 75607. On the bottom we have a CURT Class 3, part number 13252.Now one of the biggest differences that we found between our two hitches here today is in regards to weight capacity. Our Draw-Tite hitch here at the top has a 600 pound max gross tongue weight rating and a 6,000 pound max gross trailer weight rating, whereas our CURT hitch has a 400 pound max gross tongue weight rating and a 4,000 pound max gross trailer weight rating. Now both of these hitches do support the use of weight distribution. However, on our Draw-Tite hitch here, when we're using weight distribution on our trailer, our max gross tongue weight rating increases to 750 pounds, and our max gross trailer weight rating increases to 7,500 pounds. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2012 Chevrolet Colorado - Curt- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2012 Chevrolet Colorado we'll be having a look at and installing the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver, part number 13252.Here's what our hitch looks like installed. As you can see, we have plenty of clearance around our hitch, making this hitch an ideal one to use with bike racks and cargo carriers. On the side of our receiver here, we have our industry standard 5/8 of an inch diameter hitch pin hole to secure any of our hitch mounted accessories. Welded onto the bottom of our receiver and the frame of the hitch itself, we have a plate steel design safety chain loop set up to hook our safety chains on from our trailer. Now, these openings are a little bit small, so if you have large diameter chains on your trailer, you may need to swap the hook out to one that's a little bit smaller. Welded on the back of our receiver here, we have a nice collar to help reinforce the opening in the receiver, and to help give us a nice finished look on our hitch.This hitch features a 400 pound max gross tongue weight rating, which is the amount forcing down, a 4,000 pound max gross trailer weight rating, which is the amount it can pull. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2012 Chevrolet Colorado - Draw-Tite- Video
Today on this 2012 Chevrolet Colorado were going to install part number 75607 from Draw-Tite. This is what the hitch looks like once its installed on the vehicle. Next well go ahead and give you some measurements thatll help you out in selecting some accessories such as a ball mount, a bicycle rack, or a cargo carrier. From the top of the receiver opening down to the ground will be 14 inches. From the center of the hitch pin hole tot eh edge of the bumper will be 4 inches.
