Swagman XTC4 Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Chevrolet Equinox- Video
Today on our 2016 Chevrolet Equinox we're doing a test fit of the Swagman XTC4 Platform Style Bike Rack, that part number is S64665. Now we already have our bike in place. We're first going to show you how to secure down, then we'll take a few measurements, and show you a few features. So the first measurement I want to go over real fast is our handlebar measurement. Come around here. So we're going to measure from the center of our bike, which will be the center of our wheel cradle, to the closest point. So that measurement's going to be about 21.5 inches. So that just gives you an idea of what kind of handle bars can fit on our bike rack without making contact with our vehicle. As for how our bike is secured down, at the front and the back tire we have our straps that are just going to hold our tires in place on our wheel cradles. more

Pro Series Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Chevrolet Equinox- Video
Today on our 2016 Chevrolet Equinox we're doing a test fit of the Pro Series Q-Slot Platform Style 2 and 4 Bike Rack, that part number is PS63138. We already have our bike secured down. We're first going to show you how we do that. On our front and back tire we have hook-and-loop straps, so they're going to hold our wheels in place. Then here in the center we have our frame hook, which is what actually holds our bike down into our cradles. We're going to start by rotating this all the way around, and lifting up on our hook. more

We'll just ago ahead and take a closer look, and show off some of the features. How the bike is attached to the rack We're going to have 3 points of contact with the bike's frame. We're going to have 2 straps up top, here. One strap off to the side here, which is going to serve as an anti sway strap, to keep the bike from going back and forth, possibly hitting the bike rack, or the bikes in front of it. Let's go ahead and take the bike off, and set it aside. It should also be noted that this does come with an integrated cable lock, you bring over the bikes, and then would lock up at the front arm here. more

Today on this 2016 Chevrolet Equinox, we're going to be test fitting the Swagman G10 two bike platform rack, part number S64682. As you can see, we already have a bike on the rack. Let's go ahead and take a look at it and show off some of the features. Now the first and most important feature is that this can actually tilt away from the vehicle with the bike still attached. What you do is you go back to the latch here, holding onto the bike rack, lift up, let it come forward, now that will give you access to the rear hatch of your vehicle to get whatever you may need. To put it back up into position, again you grab it by the bike rack, never the bike. When you hear that click, it's locked back into place. How this bike is actually attached to the rack, you're going to have three points of contact with only point of contact to your bike's frame. more

Yakima FullTilt Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Chevrolet Equinox- Video
Today on our 2016 Chevrolet Equinox, we have got out the Yakima full tilt, and we are test fitting it just to see the kind of room and spacing that we have with the rack in relation to the vehicle. Now, the full tilt is a four bike, hanging style rack, designed to fold and tilt. Also for use with two inch hitches, or the inch and a quarter, so we have some adaptability there. Part number on it is Y02462. These have some of my favorite cradles. I think this is really a big difference here. These are called the zip strips. more

Curt Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Chevrolet Equinox- Video
Today on our 2016 Chevrolet Equinox, we are doing a test fit on the Curt Premium 4 Bike Rack. This is a hanging style rack, it has been designed for use on 2 inch hitches. The part number on it is C18064. I think the really unique feature of this bike rack are going to be our dual cradle arms that come back and actually taper in. This is going to help us out a lot with kids bikes, or alternative frames, and things like that. As you can see, nice and narrow here, and then widening out as we get further forward. more

Saris Freedom Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Chevrolet Equinox- Video
Today on our 2015 Chevrolet Equinox, we're taking a look at the Saris Freedom. This is a platform style folding and tilting forward bike rack. They designed it for use with two inch hitches. The part number for it is S-A-4-4-1-4-B. Now, first and foremost, a really cool thing about the rack, even with bikes loaded, we're going to be able to tilt this right out and away from our car. Simply pull the safety pin down there at the bottom and then we'll push the grey lever here in the rear and allow that to tilt right down. It's interesting to note and good to note that it's not going to make contact with the ground when you're setting on a level surface, so we'll get full extension of that rack until it's lowered position. Looks like then we'll have all the room we need to get our rear hatch door open here. more

Saris Thelma Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Chevrolet Equinox- Video
Today on our 2015 Chevrolet Equinox we're going to be doing a test fit on the Saris Thelma. This is a platform-style 3-bike rack. It's been designed for use with the 1-1/4" or with 2" hitches. Part number on it is SA4239B. Now the nice thing about the Thelma, holds our bike onto the rack with no contact with the frame at all. We use a very nice large wheel hoop here on the backside, a wheel cradle on the bottom and a strap to hold that in. more

Kuat NV Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Chevrolet Equinox- Video
Today, on our 2015 Chevrolet Equinox, we're taking a look at the Kuat NV. We're going to test fit it and see how it shapes up against the vehicle. What this is is a platform-style folding and tilting 4-bike rack designed for use in 2-inch hitches. The part number on it is N105-107. Overall, the Kuat does a great job of securing our bike in two ways. We've got a nice heavy duty cable that's going to run from one end over here to the other, connects right in the middle. It allows us to really work it in like we've got it here, through the frame of the bike, through the rim of the bike. more

Curt Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Chevrolet Equinox- Video
Today on our 2015 Chevrolet Equinox we're taking a look at the CURT premium folding and tilting 4-bike rack. They've designed this so we can use it with 2" hitches. The part number on it is C18064. Now the CURT rack is going to hold our bike in position with three straps. We've got two for our frame up top here and then an anti-sway cradle in the back. Helps to prevent some of that bike movement forward and back, keeping it from hitting other bikes or maybe going up and hitting that mast. Now they're easy to remove. more

Saris Bike Porter Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Chevrolet Equinox- Video
Speaker 2: Today on our 2015 Chevrolet Equinox, we are going to be doing a test fit on the Saris bike Porter, this is a folding and tilting four bike rack, it has been designed for use with 1 1/4 or 2 inch hitches. The part number on it is SA404B and we also have this available in the two bike if you'd prefer, part number on that is SA402B. To begin our test fit we need to slide the shank of our rack into the receiver tube of our hitch. We'll line up our pin hole with our hitch pin hole. With those in line we've got a standard anti rattle bolt that is provided and we are going to thread that on through. We do this from the driver to the passenger side and then once we've got it hand tight you'll notice there is still some movement and some play there that we are going to have to deal with, we'll bring in our wrench, tighten that on down and our clip that is dropped, that is going to be the clip that is provided and we just slide that in the end of the bolt there. more

Saris Freedom Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox- Video
Today on our 2005 Chevy Equinox we're going to be test fitting the Saris Freedom 4-Bike Platform Style Rack for 2 Inch Hitches part number SA4414B. We'll begin our test fit by inserting the shank of the rack into our hitch. With that in place, we'll go ahead and line up the hitch pin holes and then thread in our anti-rattle hitch bolt. Go ahead and get this tightened down by hand and then we can finish it off with our wrench. This will help take any extra play out of the shank of the rack and helps eliminate movement overall when going down the road. As you can see we're nice and tight there. more

Part number on it is S64665. To begin our test fit, we're going to slide the shank of the rack into the receiver tube of our hitch. We need to slide it in far enough to line up our thread hole with our hitch pinhole. Now that we have those in line with each other we're going to take our anti-rattle bolt which is provided, we're going to thread that in. With it just hand tight, you can see there's still some play and some movement to our rack so now we'll take our wrench and tighten that bolt down. As we do this it draws the shank of the rack over against the receiver tube. more

Today on our 2005 Chevrolet Equinox, we'll be test fitting the Yakima DoubleDown Ace 4 Bike Rack, part number Y02451. To begin our test fit, we'll slide the shank of the rack into the receiver tube of the hitch, line up the pin holes, and insert the attached red pin. We'll then move to the back of the rack and use the hand knob to engage our anti-rattle device, which will secure our DoubleDown Ace to our Equinox. Next, we'll go over some key measurements. The ground clearance at the back of the rack is about 10 inches. The closest part of the DoubleDown Ace to our Equinox is about 3-1/2 inches. With the cradle arms folded down, we've added about 9 inches to the overall length of our Equinox. Next, we can pull the knob at the base of our rack to tilt the mast down. This allows us to gain access to our cargo area. more

Thule Vertex 4 Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox- Video
Today on our 2005 Chevrolet Equinox we'll be test fitting the Thule Vertex Four Bike Carrier, part number TH9029. To begin our test fit, we'll slide the shank of the carrier into the receiver tube of our hitch, line up the pin hole, and thread in our anti-rattle bolt, tightening it with a wrench. Now we'll go over some key measurements. We have elven inches of ground clearance. The closest part of the rack to our Equinox is about three inches. We have added twelve inches to the overall length of our Chevrolet Equinox. We'll pull the lever at the base of the carrier to allow our carrier to tilt away from the vehicle. This allows us to gain access to the cargo area of our vehicle by being able to open our rear hatch. With our mast back in its upright position, we'll pull the lever at the top of the mast to swing down the dual arms. With these out, we've added thirty-six inches to the overall length of our vehicle. We'll go ahead and undo the cradle straps to expose our cradles, place our bike onto the frame cradles, and secure it by tightening down each strap. With that done, our bike is all loaded up and we're ready to hit the road. That completes today's test fit of the Thule Vertex Four Bike Carrier, part number TH9029, on our 2005 Chevrolet Equinox. . more

Thule Hitching Post Pro Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox- Video
Today, on our 2005 Chevrolet Equinox, we'll be test fitting the Thule Hitching Post Pro Folding Tilting 4-Bike Rack with anti-sway, part number TH934XTR. To begin our test fit, we'll slide the shank of the carrier into the receiver tube of the hitch, line up the pin hole, and thread in our anti-rattle bolt, tightening it with a wrench. Now we'll go over some key measurements. We have 9-1/2 inches of ground clearance. The closest point of the carrier to the rear of the Equinox is about 5 inches. We've added 16 inches to the overall length of our Equinox. more

Thule Helium Aero Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox- Video
Today on 2005 Chevrolet Equinox, we'll be test fitting the Thule Helium Aero 2 Bike Carrier, part number TH9042. To begin our test fit, we'll slide the shank of the carrier into the receiver tube of the hitch, line up the pin hole, and allow the attached pin to fall into place. We'll then move to the rear of the shank and use the hand knob to secure our bike rack to our vehicle and engage our anti-rattle device. Now, we'll go over some key measurements. We have about 10 inches of ground clearance. The closest point of the carrier to the rear of the Equinox is about 2 inches. We've added about 16-1/2 inches to the overall length of our Chevrolet Equinox. We'll pull the lever at the base of the carrier to allow our carrier to tilt away from the vehicle. more

Thule Apex 4 Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox- Video
Today on our 2005 Chevrolet Equinox, we'll be test fitting the Thule Apex four bike carrier, part number TH9025. To begin our test fit, we'll slide the shank of the carrier into the receiver tube of the hitch, line up the pin hole, and allow our attached pin to fall in place. We'll then move to the rear of the shank and use the hand knob to secure our bike rack to our vehicle, and engage our anti-rattle device. Now we'll go ahead and go over some key measurements. We have about 12 1/2 inches of ground clearance. The closest point of the carrier to the rear of the Equinox is about two inches. We've added twelve inches to the overall length of our Chevrolet Equnox. We'll pull the lever at the base of the mast to allow our carrier to tilt away from our vehicle. This allows us to gain access to the cargo area of the Equinox by openingour rear hatch. With our mast back in it's upright position, we'll pull the lever at the top of the mast to swing out our dual arms. more

Swagman Titan Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox- Video
Today on our 2005 Chevrolet Equinox, well be test fitting the Swagman Titan Four Bike Carrier, part number S63410. To begin our test fit, well slide the shank of the carrier into the receiver tube of the hitch. Line up the pin hole and thread in our anti-rattle bolt, tightening it with a wrench. Now well go over some key measurements. We have a ground clearance of 14 inches. The closest point of the carrier to the rear of our Equinox is about 6 inches. more

Kuat Beta Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2013 Chevrolet Equinox- Video
Today on our 2013 Chevy Equinox, we'll be test fitting the Kuat Beta hitch-mounted aluminum 2-bike carrier, part number B202-114. We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the bike rack into the opening of the hitch. We'll slide the pin into the pin holes and secure it with the clip on the other side. We then can turn the T handle at the back of the shank to engage the anti-rattle device, securing our Beta to our Equinox. Now with our bike rack secured, we'll go over a few clearance measurements to see how the two fit together. We have about 15-1/2" of ground clearance at the rear. more

Hollywood Racks Road Runner Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2013 Chevrolet Equinox- Video
Today on our 2013 Chevy Equinox, we'll be test fitting the Hollywood Racks Roadrunner 3-bike carrier, part number HR310. We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the bike rack into the opening of the hitch, inserting our pin and lock into the pin hole, and turning the handle at the back of the shank to engage the anti-rattle device. Now that our bike rack is secured to our Equinox, we'll go over a couple clearance measurements to see how the two fit together. We have about 13" of ground clearance at the rear. The closest part of our bike rack to the closest part of our vehicle is at the rear bumper, about 2" away. With the cradle arms folded down, we've added about 9" to the overall length of our Equinox. more

Yakima StickUp 2 Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2013 Chevrolet Equinox- Video
Today on our 2013 Chevy Equinox, we'll be test fitting the Yakima StickUp platform-style hitch-mounted 2-bike carrier, part number Y02420. We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the bike rack into the opening of the hitch, and install and tighten down our anti-rattle bolt. Now with our Yakima StickUp secured to our Equinox, we'll go over a couple clearance measurements to see how the two fit together. With the platform folded up, we have about 16" of ground clearance from the rear. The closest part of the bike rack to the closest part of the vehicle is here at the bumper, about 1" away. We've added about 11" to the overall length of our Equinox. more

Yakima StickUp 2 Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2012 Chevrolet Equinox- Video
Today on our 2012 Chevrolet Equinox we'll be test fitting the Yakima StickUp 2 Bike Hitch Mounted Folding Bike Rack for both one and a quarter and two inch hitches, part number y02420. Now to begin our test fit, we'll simply slide the bike rack shank into the hitch. Line up the hitch pin hole and install and tighten our anti-rattle bolt and with the bolt tight, our rack is secured to our vehicle. We'll now go ahead and go over a few clearance measurements. We have a ground clearance of 12 1/2 inches and from the closest point of the bike rack to the closest point on the rear of our vehicle is three inches. With the bike rack in the folded position, we've added 12 inches to the overall length of our vehicle. more

Yakima DoubleDown Ace Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2012 Chevrolet Equinox- Video
Today on our 2012 Chevrolet Equinox we'll be test fitting the Yakima Doubledown Ace 4 Bike Carrier for inch and a quarter and two inch hitches, part number y02451. To begin we can go ahead and slide the bike rack shank into our hitch. Line up the hitch pin hole and install the attached hitch pin. We can then go ahead and tighten the knob down here at the back of the shank, securing the bike rack to the vehicle. At this point we can go over a few clearance measurements. Our ground clearance here at the bike rack measures 11 1/2 inches and the closest part of the bike carrier to the rear of our vehicle is five inches. more

Thule Doubletrack Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2012 Chevrolet Equinox- Video
Today on our 2012 Chevrolet Equinox we're going to be test fitting the Thule Doubletrack Hitch Bike Rack, part number th990xt. We'll begin by taking the shank of the bike rack and sliding it into the receiver tube of our hitch. We'll then thread an anti-rattle bolt and tighten it down using the wrench. With our bike rack secured to our vehicle, we'll now go ahead and go over a few clearance measurements. We have 11 1/2 inches of ground clearance and the closest part of the bike carrier to the closest part of the vehicle is three and a half inches. With the bike rack in the folded position, we've added about ten inches to the overall length of our vehicle. more

Thule Apex 4 Swing Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2012 Chevrolet Equinox- Video
Today on our 2012 Chevrolet Equinox, we'll be test fitting the Thule Apex Swing Four-Bike Carrier, Part Number TH9027. To begin our test fit, we'll slide our bike rack shank into the hitch and allow the integrated lock and hitch pin to fall into place. We'll then move to the anti-rattle knob where we'll tighten down the knob, securing our bike rack to the vehicle. Now, we'll go over a few clearance measurements. We have a ground clearance of 12 inches and the closest part of the bike carrier to the closest part of the rear of our vehicle is about 3 inches. With the bike rack in its folded position, we've added 12 inches to the overall length of our vehicle. more
