Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer. Today on our 2012 Dodge Ram 1500, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the etrailer.com Class III 2" Trailer Hitch Receiver. So probably my favorite thing about this hitch is its appearance. It's going to be pretty low profile, and it's going to have a matte black carbide finish, and so it's really just going to blend in with a lot of the truck's plastic moldings, like our bumper plastic for example, and in my opinion that's just going to give it a really factory look. I also really like how easy this is going to be to use. The hitch pin hole, it's going to be 5/8 in size, and it's going to be about in the center of our receiver tube, so you're not going to have to reach your hand way back there to try to get it undone. more

Curt Trailer Hitch Installation - 2012 Dodge Ram Pickup- Video
Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer. Today on our 2012 Dodge Ram 1500, we're going to be taking a look at it and showing you how to install the CURT class 5 two inch trailer hitch receiver. So probably my favorite thing about this hitch is that it's going to give us a lot of performance and weight carrying capacity and still look pretty decent, that's because it is a class five. Most of the other class fives are really big and bulky and they take up a lot of space back here and just don't really look that great in my opinion. This one almost maintains more of a factory look. So it's going to have a two inch by two inch receiver tube opening. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2012 Dodge Ram- Video
Today on our 2012 Dodge Ram 1500 were gonna install Kurt hitch part number 14374. Here are a couple of measurements thatll assist you with selecting accessories for your new hitch, from the center of the hitch pinhole to the outermost point of the bumper is 2 and a half inches, from the top of the receiver tube to the ground is 19 and a half inches. Now lets go ahead with the installation. Weve already gone ahead and removed the spare tire, this will make it easier to install our hitch. Our first step to installing the hitch is gonna be the removing the frame bolts, this is the forward frame fastener for the bumper tube bracket, theres one on each side, each side is identical so each process I do here on the driver side will be repeated identically on the passenger side. Lets go ahead and remove the fasteners now, hang on to these fasteners as they will be reinstalled when we put the hitch in place. more

Here are a couple of measurements thatll assist you with selecting accessories for your new hitch, from the center of the hitch pinhole to the outermost point of the bumper is 2 and a half inches, from the top of the receiver tube to the ground is 19 and a half inches. Now lets go ahead with the installation. Weve already gone ahead and removed the spare tire to make it easier to install the hitch. Our first step is gonna remove the bumper center cap, from underneath you can just put pressure on the cap and dislodge it from its position. Now were ready to go ahead and put our hitch in place. more

From the center of the hitch pinhole to the outermost point of the bumper is 2 and a half inches. From the top of the receiver tube to the ground is 19 and a half inches. Now lets go ahead with the installation. Before we install our hitch we need to remove the cap here in the center of the bumper, a little pressure from the underneath and we can simply remove it and set it aside. more

Today on this 2012 Dodge Ram 1500 were gonna install Hidden Hitch part number 87530. Here are a couple of measurements thatll assist you with selecting accessories for your new hitch, from the center of the hitch pinhole to the outermost point of the bumper is 2 and a half inches, from the top of the receiver tube to the ground is 19 and a half inches. Now lets go ahead with the installation. Our first step we need to remove the center bumper cap, we push them underneath, we can just dislodge it from its position. Next were gonna go ahead and put our hitch in position and secure it with our 3 quarter inch and conkle tooth washer, the bolt and washer will drop in from the top. The hitch is gonna come from the underneath with the rear flange going above the chrome piece of the bumper. more
