Today we're going to be taking a look at the best hitch options for your 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan. Up top here we're going to have our etrailer has, which is going to be a Class 3. Right below that we'll have our Draw-Tite that's also a Class 3. Then finally at the bottom we'll have our CURT, again a Class 3 hitch. Since all of our hitches are going to be a Class 3 hitch, they're all going to give us that 2" by 2" receiver tube opening and have a lot of different accessories available that we can mount in them, all the way from a ball mount, a bike rack, or even a cargo carrier.Regardless if you're towing and you're using a ball mount or you're just using it for a bike rack, all of the accessories going into each one of our hitches is going to use a standard 5/8 pin and clip to secure them. However, the Draw-Tite you'll notice there is going to be a secondary hole towards the opening on our receiver. more

Today in our 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan, we're going to be taking a look at, and showing you how to install the etrailer Class-3 custom-fit trailer hitch receiver, part number: E98854.So here's what our hitch is going to look like once we have it installed. The cross-tubes are going to be hidden by the bumper really nice, and all we're going to see is the receiver tube sticking out. It's a Class-3 hitch, means it's going to give us a 2" by 2" receiver tube opening, which is going to be great for all kinds of accessories.The way we're going to mount all of our accessories to the hitch-pin hole here on the side, and it is going to accept a standard 1/2" pin and clip. Now these are not included in the kit, but you can pick 'em up here at etrailer.com, along with some locking devices to make sure your accessories are safe.The safety-chain connection point can be a loop style, welded to the bottom of the receiver tube. As you can see, we're going to have plenty of room to get most sized hooks on or off.As far as weight capacity goes, our hitch is going to have a 400 lb tongue weight, along with a 4,000 lb gross trailer weight rating. Now it is designed to work with weight distribution systems as well, and that's going to bump the tongue weight up to 500 lbs, and the gross trailer weight rating up to 5,000 lbs. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan - Curt- Video
Today on our 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan, we're going to be installing the Curt trailer hitch receiver, part number C12264. Now, here's what our hitch looks like installed on our vehicle. Now, we'll go ahead and give you a couple measurements in helping you choose some accessories for your hitch, such as a ball mount, a bicycle rack or a cargo carrier. From the center of the hitch pin hole to the outermost edge of the bumper is approximately 5 inches. From the top of the opening in the receiver to the ground is approximately 13 inches. Now, let's go ahead and install our hitch. Now, let's first point out our mounting locations on our vehicle. We'll go ahead and start over here on the driver side. more

Today in our 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan, we will be installing the Draw-Tite 2" receiver tube hitch, part # 75579. This is what our hitch will look like once installed. Next we are going to give you a couple of measurements to assist your selecting accessories for your new hitch. From the center of the hitch pin hole to the outer most edge of the bumper is 5". From the top of the receiver tube opening to the ground will be 13 1/2 ". This will assist you in selecting accessories such as a ball mount, bike rack or cargo carrier. Trailer Hitch Installation - 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan - Curt 13364- Video
Today on our 2014, Dodge Grand Caravan, we'll be installing the Curt trailer hitch receiver in a class 3, with a 2 inch opening on the receiver, part number 13364. Here's what our hitch looks like installed on our vehicle. Now we'll go ahead and give you a couple measurements in helping you choose some accessories for your hitch, such as a ball mount, a bicycle rack, or a cargo carrier. From the center of the hitch pinhole to the outermost edge of the bumper is approximately 4 inches. From the top of the opening in the receiver to the ground is approximately 13.5 inches. Now let's go ahead and install our hitch. We'll first need to remove one bolt from three different exhaust hangers to lower the exhaust down out of the way to give us access to the two bolts here on the passenger side. The size sockets that you'll need to remove all of the hardware are 13mm to remove the three bolts that hold the exhaust up in place at the hangers. more

Today on our 2014 Dodge Grand caravan, we'll be installing Hidden Hitch, part number 87451. This is what our hitch look like once installed. On the center of the hitch pinhole, the outer most edge of the bumper is five inches, from the top of the receiver tube opening to the ground would be 13 and a half inches. This will assist your selecting accessories such as a ball mount, bike rack or cargo carrier. Now we'll go ahead in installation. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan - Draw-Tite 36455- Video
Today on our 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan we'll be installing the Draw-Tite one and a quarter inch receiver hitch, part number 36455. This is what our hitch will look like once installed. Next we're going to give you a couple of measurements to assist you in selecting accessories for your new hitch. From the center of the hitch pin hole to the outer most edge of the bumper is six inches. From the top of the receiver tube opening to the ground is thirteen and a quarter inches. This will assist you in selecting accessories such as a bike rack or cargo carrier. Now I'll go ahead with installation. First we'll go ahead and lower the exhaust so we can easily access the frame rail on the passenger side. To lower the exhaust, we'll remove the two fasteners that secure the hangers to the body of the vehicle. First we'll remove the fastener that secures the hanger just forward of the rear muffler, behind the axle. Then we'll go ahead and remove the fastener securing the hanger just forward of the rear axle. Now with both fasteners out of the way it'll allow the exhaust to come down and we can gain access to the frame rail on the passenger side. We'll have a total of four attachment points. These attachment points will be weld nuts built into the frame by the manufacturer and we'll actually already have hardware in these weld nuts that we'll be reusing to secure the hitch. Next, we can go ahead and remove the fasteners in the frame rail. Starting at the end of the frame rail, we'll remove the first and second fasteners. more
