Front Mount Trailer Hitch Installation - 2012 Chevrolet Silverado- Video
Speaker 1: Today on this 2012 Chevrolet Silverado we'll be having a look at and showing you how to install the Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver, part number 31322. Here's what our hitch looks like installed. This hitch will be a great way to use certain add-ons with your truck such as winches, snow plows, cargo carriers, bike racks and even occasionally a ball mount, if you need to move a trailer around.On the side of our receiver, you'll find your industry standard five-eighth of an inch diameter hitch pin hole. On the end of our receiver, you'll find this collar that's welded on to give us a nice finish look, and to help reinforce the receiver opening, giving us some added strength. This hitch features a 500 pound max tongue weight rating, which is the amount forcing down. It has a 5,000 pound max gross trailer weight rating, which is the amount it can pull. more

Speaker 1: Today we're going to be taking a look at the best front hitch options for the 2012 Chevrolet Silverado 3500. We'll start with the Draw-Tite here. This is part number 65068. We're going to follow that up with the CURT, part number C31026.Now both of these hitches are going to offer a 2" by 2" receiver tube opening that will be available to us at the front of our vehicle. Most typical applications are going to be for mounting a winch in there potentially. Sometimes people like to use spare tire racks off the front of the vehicle. more

This is part number 65078, and we'll follow that up with the Curt, part number C31023. Now, both of these hitches are going to offer a 2" x 2" receiver tube opening that will be available to us at the front of our vehicle. Most typical applications are going to be for mounting a winch in there potentially. Sometimes people like to use spare tire racks off the front of the vehicle, also comes in handy for the snow plow applications. If you don't want to make major modifications to the front of the truck, you can get snow plows that'll fit in here. Now, the hitches are very, very similar in that, again, they've got the 2" x 2" receiver tube opening. more
