Blue Ox Towing Accessories Kit Installation - 2017 Ram 1500- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 RAM 1500 Rebel, we're gonna take a look at and show you how to install the Blue Ox Towing Accessories Kit for the Alpha and Aventa LX Tow Bars. This offers the 7-wire to 6-wire Flexo-Coil cable, and a 10,000 pound capacity. Part number is BX88231.Now the Flexo-Coil is gonna have the 7-pole standard end, which will connect to the back of our RV, and the 6-pole end that we can connect to the plug that we installed in the front of the truck. You can see it's designed with some spring back; that's gonna help prevent it, just like our safety chains here, from hanging down and potentially dragging on the ground, causing damage.Now, the tab on the top will go up as we slide our connector in position, and we wanna be sure that they tab on the door goes down behind that to hold it. The same thing for our 6-pole end here, got that little groove on the top, that faces up, and then the catch is gonna go right behind that.Now, our accessories kit also has three locks with it. We've got one that's 5/8" in diameter, that's designed to secure our tow bar to the back of our RV. more
