Hi there Terrain owners. Today in your 2016 GMC Terrain, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install etrailer.com's Class III, two inch trailer hitch receiver. And this is what our hitch looks like when it's installed. The cross tube is going to be mostly hidden behind our bumper here. So you're really only going to notice the receiver here at the back. Another thing you will notice is that there is a panel here that is installed on your Terrain that does have to be removed, and it stays off when your hitch is installed.It's a two inch by two inch receiver, so it's going to be great for all of your towing needs. more

Best 2016 GMC Terrain Trailer Hitch Options

Speaker 1: Today on our 2016 GMC Terrain, we'll be having a look at our best hitch options.We have three different hitches here for you today. On the top, we have a Draw-Tite, part number 76028. In the middle, we have a Curt, part number 13591. And, on the bottom, we have the eTrailer.com hitch, part number E98865.And, now for a brief summary about our hitches. As far as weight capacity goes, the Draw-Tite hitch is the best option here, because it does have the highest trailer weight capacity and tongue weight capacity.As far as appearance goes, all three of these hitches are going to look very similar. The main different being, the eTrailer hitch does have a more durable finish on it, which will be more scratch and rust resistant than the other two.The biggest difference that we found between our three hitches that we have here today, is in regards to weight capacities. more

Today on our 2016 GMC Terrain we're going to be taking a look at and installing the Draw-Tite Max-Frame class three trailer hitch receiver, part number 76028. Here's what the hitch looks like once it's installed on the vehicle. As you can see, everything's pretty well hidden. You don't really see a whole lot other than the receiver tube and the safety chain loops right here. When you get down low you can see a little bit of the crosstube right there, but there is also the option for the cover that needs to be taken off in order to install it. You can trim this cover, but you'll be trimming it most of it out because all you'll really have left is the edge around here. more

Today on our 2016 GMC Terrain we're going to be taking a look at and installing the CURT Custom Fit Class 2 Trailer Hitch Receiver, part number C12291. Here's what our new sweet, slick, and stylish class 2 receiver hitch is going to look like installed on the back of our vehicle. It's going to have a real slim, low-profile look with only the rectangle tube, chain tie-downs, and the 1 1/4" by 1 1/4" receiver tube being visible from that back side. Now note that you won't be able to put that plastic fascia and appearance panel back over the top, so this will always be out. Now keep in mind that it's going to be a fully welded design with a black powder coat finish, so it's going to have added rust and corrosion resistance as well as stand up to the elements over a long period of time. The heavy-duty chain tie-downs on either side are also going to be accessible to large tow hooks, with a 1/2 inch pin hole going straight through the center to secure all your 1 1/4" by 1 1/4" trailering accessories. Now it will have that 1 1/4" by 1 1/4" receiver tube opening at the end, offering a 350-pound max tongue weight capacity and 3,500 pound maximum towing capacity. more

Today on our 2016 GMC Terrain we'll be taking a look at and installing the Hin hitch custom fit class two trailer hitch receiver, part number 90145. Here's what our custom fit class two trailer hitch receiver is going to look like once it's installed. It's going to have a real nice look. You can see it's going to have a black powder coat finish, fully welded design so it's going to stand up against the elements and last you a long time, resisting rust and corrosion, and extra strength and durability. It's going to have the rolled steel type chain tie downs. Square tube design and the only thing you're really going to see from the back is going to be that inch and a quarter by inch and a quarter receiver tube with the chain tie downs and that square stock, just where that facial was and that appearance panel on the back. It's going to have a half inch panel going directly through the center to attach all of your inch and a quarter hitch accessories and inch and a quarter by inch and a quarter receiver tube opening offering a three hundred pound maximum tongue weight capacity. That's going to be the maximum downward force we're going to be able to put here on the end of our receiver tube and a three thousand, five hundred pound towing capacity. more

Today on our 2016 GMC Terrain, we'll be taking a look at, and installing, the Curt Custom-Fit class 3 trailer hitch receiver, part number 13591. Here's what our sweet, new Curt receiver hitch is going to look like once it's installed. It's going to have a slick and stylish look on the back end of our vehicle, tucked up underneath the back end. You can see that that receiver hitch is going to be dead even with the bottom side of our appearance panel, and facia. The only thing that's going to be visible is just a short piece of the round stock, our chain tie-downs, and the 2 inch by 2 inch receiver tube opening. The chain tie-downs are going to be fully welded, as well as the rest of the construction of our receiver, giving it a nice, long-term, and dependable design. The receiver tube is going to have a 5/8ths inch pinhole going straight through the center, 2 inch by 2 inch receiver tube opening, offering a 350 pound tongue weight capacity, and 3,500 pound towing capacity. more
