What's up everybody, it's AJ with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna be checking out the Swagman XE2 on our 2021 Toyota RAV4 Prime. This is gonna be a platform style bike rack, which means it's gonna hold the bike by the frame. So, right away, would not suggest using your carbon fiber bikes on here, 'cause it's gonna put that pressure on that top tube and you don't want anything to happen to that. This one is aluminum road bike it's gonna be just fine. The padded hook comes down, putting pressure down on the frame, and that's what holds it in place. more

What's up everybody, it's AJ with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna be checking out the Kuat NV 2.0 on our 2021 Toyota RAV4 Prime. So this is gonna be a platform-style bike rack, so that means the bike's gonna sit up there on a platform, it's not gonna be hanging on the arms like hang-style, and it holds it by the tires, so that's nice. Instead of from the other ones that hold it by the frame. You see we have quite an extreme down tube on this one. Sometimes that would be problematic if you maybe get this one, you wouldn't get the one next to it and it'd just be a fitment issue with different size bikes. more

So, if you're wanting a simplistic way of getting your bikes up to that trailhead with you, that way you can start having some fun, well, the XTC2 is definitely a great bet for a lot of people. What's nice about it, we're not gonna be breaking the bank to make sure we can just get our bikes up, and start having some fun, and it is really modular. What I mean by that, we're gonna be able to fold this up and even remove that rear shank that it has, make it a lot easier to store this somewhere inside your home. And with that being great about if you do have like any kind of apartment dwelling going on, or just not a lot of room in your garage and in your home, this is gonna fold up, become really easy to store. more

So this can be a very decent way of getting a lot of bikes to that trail head, without also breaking the bank. That's only one of the main reasons I like it. I will say it's probably not the prettiest looking bike rack out there, we have a lot of straps, we have a lot of framework to work around. However, I think you'll become a bigger fan of this bike rack just like I have, once you see how good of a job it actually does of securing your bike. more

Hey everybody, how's it going Today We're gonna be going over the Hollywood Racks Destination, 2-bike rack. Here on our 2021 Toyota C-HR. So the Destination is what's known as a platform style bike rack. Platform style are definitely easier to load your bikes onto and take them off. You don't have to lift them near as high to get them over the arms. But platform bike racks are actually a little bit more cumbersome in most cases than the hanging style racks because they're usually a little bit bulky and heavier. more

Saris Door County 2 Electric Bike Rack Review - 2021 Toyota Tacoma- Video
Hi everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer, and today we taking a look at the Saris Door County two electric bike rack, right here on our 2021 Toyota Tacoma. So, the Door County is a unique bike rack in that it can raise and lower the bike rack itself, using a seven way connection on your Toyota Tacoma. So, if you have extra heavy bikes and you're not a fan of lifting them up onto other hitch-mounted bike racks, or you can't lift them into your truck bed or your ladder rack, this might be helpful for you. So, we'll take a look at some of the features of this bike rack, but focus on how it works with a Tacoma, just to see if it's the right fit for you, your bicycles and your truck. So, this has a 60 pound weight capacity and looking at the way our bike is mounted, we have it mounted down at three points. So, we have one and two wheel straps just holding down our wheels. more

Now I call this the elevator bike rack, because it's an electric lift bike rack, so it raises and it lowers; when you wanna mount your bikes, you just lower it down. And when you're ready to go, raise it right back up, and then you're ready to drive. So it's a very unique bike rack, definitely ideal for if you have your heavy electric bikes and you're not able to lift it up onto your vehicle. So some reasons Yakima OnRamp is really, really interesting and pretty cool is because it has a ramp already attached to your bike rack. So when you're loading and unloading your bike, it's very easy to do so with the ramp. And another thing is that it's an electric bike rack. So with a weight capacity of 66 pounds per bike, 40, if you're taking this 4Runner off the road, though, this makes it easier for your electric bikes to both carry them and to load and unload. more

So the Swagman Chinook really shines when you have an inch and a quarter hitch, but you need something that's extra heavy duty to carry your bikes. Now, in our case, on the 4Runner, we have a 2-inch hitch. So that feature is not as important, but it's still a great heavy duty bike rack that also allows you to tilt it away. Something that's better than the Swagman E-Spec, which has more weight capacity, but not that tilt. So let's take a look at that tilting feature. more

So good reason to go with the bike rack like this is if you want to stick with an affordable platform rack to carry one or two bikes, if you and a friend would just like to go to the bike trail. This is a nice light rack and the capacity is 35 pounds per bike. So keeping that 35 per bike weight limit in mind, it is good to consider that this is good for standard bikes. Now this would not be good for your electric bikes or bikes that have kind of a heavier weight or a fat tire. more

Today, on our 2021 Toyota RAV4, we're gonna be taking a look at the Malone Runway Max Four-bike Rack. First thing I noticed with the rack is that it sits relatively low. I'm not a very tall fella, and the RAV4 doesn't really sit too far off the ground. So if you're looking for something that's gonna be a little bit easier so you don't have to lift the bikes up that much, this one's gonna do a great job. So let's get a little measurement for you. So, as it sits in the hitch on our RAV, it's about 46 inches from the ground to the bottom of this tube on the end. more

Thule Hitching Post Pro Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2021 Toyota Highlander- Video
Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer today on our 2021 Toyota Highlander, we're going to be checking out the Cooley hitching post pro bike rack. So kind of my first impressions of the hitching post pro on the back of the Highlander is I think it looks really good. actually, the rack has a nice, modern and simple design to it, more or less kind of just like the Highlander. So it's a good, a good matchup. I'd say with that said, though it's going to be a great way to carry around a lot of bikes. This one can hold up to a total of four and one of the best parts about it is the fact that it's super easy to use one of the more simple racks and it does a great job of holding your bikes. more

Kuat Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2021 Toyota Highlander- Video
Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer Today on our 2021 Toyota Highlander, we're going to be checking out the Kuat NV 2.0, hitch mounted bike rack So my first impression of the rack on the back of the Highlander, I think it looks really good actually, these Kuats are top notch when it comes to functionality and the appearance. And I really think it shows well on the back of the Toyota. I also like how high it sits off the ground, you know, it's, it's relatively high off the ground and that's going to, you know, do a good job of help keeping our bikes protected, you know, and, and we're not going to have to worry about hitting curbs and things like that. With that said, one of my favorite things about the setup is you're going to be able to kind of grow into it, if that makes sense or change it to meet your particular needs. So today we have a two bike version that we're showing off but there's also a four bike version. And the cool thing is if you're unsure, if you need that four bike version just yet, you can actually get add-ons and kinda add on as you need to meet those particular needs that you may have in the future with that said too, all of those options are going to be available in three different colors. more

Yakima Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2017 Toyota RAV4 Y34ZR- Video
Hi, everyone. It's Evangelina here at etrailer, And today we are looking at the Yakima EXO System with the DoubleUp two-bike rack, and the GearLocker enclosed cargo carrier, here on our 2017 Toyota RAV4. Now, this is an amazing kit, because it comes with the bike rack, it comes with the cargo carrier, and you can see how you could use them simultaneously with each other. Right here, look at how the bike rack is on the top. If you do have this configuration, it can only be on the top, since, obviously there's no space for it on the bottom, but you can still use both of them. Let's take a look at how it works with our vehicle. more

Yakima Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2018 Toyota Highlander YA44FR- Video
Hey, everybody, welcome to etrailer.com. I'm Bobby and today we're taking a look at the Yakima backroad four bike rack carrier on our 2018 Toyota Highlander. Now this can be an excellent way of getting four bikes to your destination, whether it be for friends or family. Taking a look, you can see, we do have a hanging style rack here today. So if you're looking at a way of getting those carbon frame bikes to your destination unfortunately this isn't going to be a great option as we do have frame contact so we will end up warping and deteriorating those carbon frames. However, with the 37 a half pound weight capacity we are going to get most of our standard and mountain bikes up on here with no trouble. more

Now this can be an awesome way especially if you have a family of getting a couple of bikes to the trail with you. You'll notice that we do have a hanging style here. So if you're looking a way of getting your carbon frame bikes to the trailhead with you unfortunately this won't be a great option as we will be warping and deteriorating those frames. more

One of the big questions that we do get asked a lot in regards to hitch mounted bike racks, is if you're still gonna be able to have access to the back of your SUV. This one does fold down out of the way and allows us to do that. If you come here to this pen and clip, we can simply remove it. more

Kuat Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2020 Toyota Highlander NV22G- Video
What's up everybody It's AJ with etrailer.com Today, we're gonna be checking out the Kuat NV 2.0 on our 2020 Toyota Highlander. It's gonna be a platform-style bike rack, that way you can carry up to two bikes with you wherever you're going to ride. What's nice about this one is it has got the wheel hook so it's gonna hold it by the wheel. We have a carbon-frame bike on here today, and it's nice and holds by the wheel that way there's no frame contact, so we don't have to worry about it getting scratched up or ruined or dented from a hook coming down right on it or it hanging by the frame. So, it's gonna be good for road bikes, mountain bikes, and even fat-tire bikes. The cradles down here are wide enough to accept those, as well as the straps over here that hold the wheels in. more
