Today on our 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan, we are testing the Carpod wold cargo carrier. Dimensions for the cargo carrier are, 23' by 47' with the weight capacity of 450 pounds. The part number for that is M2205. As you can see we do already have the walls up on our Carpod. What we're going to do is take some measurements, for ground clearance its going to be 17 and a quarter inches there. Our overall is going to be about 33 and half inches, and our closest point back here is going to be on the ray sink, its about 3 inches there. Now to fold down your pod we're just going to pull out these pins here. more

Lets Go Aero Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan- Video
Today on our 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan, we're doing a test fit on the Let's Go Aero Gear Cage. This is a 32x48 cargo carrier. They have designed it for use with 2 inch hitches and it offers a 300 pound weight capacity. The part number on it is HCR222. You see the gear cage, as opposed to a lot of cargo carriers, is going to have a nice solid floor on it. I like this because it wouldn't allow smaller things to pass down and through, and we don't have to worry about dirt and debris splashing up from underneath. more

Today, on our 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan, we're test-fitting the Stromberg Carlson 23 by 60 cargo carrier. This is designed for use with 2-inch hitches, and it's going to offer a 500 pound weight capacity. The part number on it is CC-100. You see we've got a nice, large, open platform, here. It has a stamped-out style of expanded steel. It gives us plenty of room for dirt and debris and stuff like that to fall right down and out. We're also going to have a raised rail. more

Today on our 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan, we are test fitting the Curt 20 by 60 Folding Cargo Carrier. Now, they designed this so that we can use it with 2 inch hitches. It offers a 500 pound weight capacity. Our part number is C18151. As you can see, it is going to have a nice stamped out expanded steel, kind of, floor. It's smooth so we don't have any of the sharp edges. But it gives us plenty of those areas for that dirt and debris and stuff like that to fall right down and out on to the ground. more

Lets Go Aero Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2012 Dodge Grand Caravan- Video
Today on our 2012 Dodge Grand Caravan, we're going to be doing a test fit of the Lets Go Aero GearCage. This is going to be your 32 inch wide by 49 inches long GearCage. It's going to have that nice sturdy construction with that solid base and a 300-pound weight capacity. If you look down here, you're going to see a 2-inch shannk attached into our 2-inch receiver only. It's going to have a 7/8 inch anti-rattle bolt going through it that's going to secure it and help reduce the sway, rattle and wobble as you can see here. Let's go ahead and start off by getting a few measurements. Our closest measurement will first from the back side of the bumper to the front side of the rack at about 5 3/4 inches. more

Detail K2 20x60 Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2012 Dodge Grand Caravan- Video
Today on our 2012 Dodge Grand Caravan, we're going to be doing a test fit of the Detail K2 cargo carrier. This cargo carrier is going to be 20 inches wide, 60 inches long and with its sturdy steel construction, it's going to offer a 500-pound weight capacity. It's also going to have that nice expanded metal base for easy cleanability and a 2-inch folding shank that will allow you to tuck it up on the back of the vehicle when you don't have it in use. Again, with that 2-inch shank, you're only going to be able to attach that to your class 3 or 2-inch receiver and it's going to be attaching via a hitch pin and clip. Now, if you do not have that hitch pin and clip since this rack does not come with one, you can obtain one on our website, part number PC3. Let's go ahead and start off by getting a few measurements. Our closest distance will be up here first at about 6 1/2 inches before it meets up with the weld to the back end of the receiver, from the rack to the back side of the bumper is going to be able 11 3/4 inches. more

Today on our 2012 Dodge Grand Caravan, we're going to be doing a test fit of the Curt Cargo Carrier. It's going to be 24 inches wide, 60 inches long, has a nice expanded metal base and sturdy steel construction offering a 500-pound weight capacity. It's going to be part number C18153. Notice here that it's also going to have that nice folding shank so when you don't have it in use, you can tuck it up against the back of the vehicle. With that 2-inch shank, it's only going to connect to your 2-inch receiver. Now, it's going to connect to that 2-inch receiver using a hitch pin and clip. MaxxTow Wheelchair Carrier with Ramp Review - 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan- Video
Today on our 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan, we'll be test fitting the Maxxtow 30 x 50 wheelchair carrier, part number MT70260. We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the carrier into the opening of the hitch, we'll secure it with a pin and clip and then using a wrench tighten down the two silver bolts to engage the anti-rattle device. With the carrier secured, we'll go over a couple of clearance measurement to see how the two fit together. We have about nine and one-half inches of ground clearance. Closest part of the carrier to the closest part of the vehicle is about a quarter of an inch and we have added about nine inches to the overall length of our vehicle. When using the anti-rattle device, the top portion of the silver bracket does come in contact with the bottom of the rear bumper fascia. We'll now go ahead and lower the platform. We'll do this by pulling the silver pin at the base of the bike rack and tilting the platform down. more

We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the carrier into the opening of the hitch. We'll insert our pin and secure the clip on the other side. With the carrier secured, we'll go over a couple clearance measurements to see how the two fit together. We have about 12 inches of ground clearance at the rear of the carrier. The closest part of the carrier to the closest part of the vehicle is about a quarter of an inch away. We've added about 26 inches to the overall length of our Grand Caravan. Now, in this particular model, the exhaust does exit on the passenger's side and is tilted downward, about six inches away. more

Today, on our 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan, we'll be test fitting this 20x60 railed cargo carrier from SportRack, part number SR9850. We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the carrier into the opening of the hitch. You can see that this cargo carrier cannot work in the fold-up position, so we'll simply pull the black pin at the base of the carrier and tilt the platform down. We'll then continue sliding the shank into the receiver tube and securing it with the anti-rattle bolt. With the carrier secured, we'll go over some clearance measurements to see how the 2 fit together. We have about 17-3/4 inches of ground clearance at the rear of the carrier. The closest part of the carrier to the closest part of the vehicle is about a quarter of an inch away, and we've added about 29 inches to the overall length of our Grand Caravan. more

The closest part of the carrier, to the closest part of the vehicle is about 2", and we've added about 10" to the overall length of our Dodge. We can now pull-up on the orange handle and tilt the platform down. With the carrier in this position, we have about 17" of ground clearance at the rear. more

We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the carrier into the opening of the hitch. We'll thread in our anti-rattle bolt and then tighten it down using a wrench. With the carrier secured, we'll go over a couple clearance measurements to see how the two fit together. We have about twelve inches of ground clearance at the rear of the carrier. The closest part of the carrier to the closest part of the vehicle is about three-quarters of an inch away, and we've added about twenty and a quarter inches to the overall length of our Grand Caravan. Now on this model, the exhaust does exit on the passenger side and points downward about seven inches away. Therefore, it would be alright to carry heat sensitive materials on this cargo carrier. The cargo door does break over the surface of the carrier at about fourteen inches. That will complete today's test fit for the Curt cargo carrier, part number C18145, on our 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan. . more

UWS Aluminum Cargo Carrier Review - 2012 Dodge Grand Caravan- Video
Today on our 2012 Dodge Grand Caravan, we'll be test fitting part #UWS03511, the 23x51 aluminum cargo carrier for two inch hitches. That will begin our install we'll simply slide the cargo carrier shank into the hitch, line up the hitch pin hole and install our hitch pin. This will secure our cargo carrier to the vehicle. Now we'll go ahead and give you a few measurements. Now our cargo carrier closest point to the back of the vehicle is an inch and a half and it'll add an additional 24 and a half inches of overall length to the vehicle. The ground clearance at the cargo carrier is nine inches and the exhaust on this vehicle exits the passenger rear. more

Today on our 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan, well be test fitting the UWS Aluminum Cargo Carrier for 2-inch hitches, part number UWS03511.With our vehicle equipped with the 2-inch hitch, were ready to go ahead and install our cargo carrier. Well simply slide the cargo carrier shank into the hitch, line up the hitch pinhole, and insert our hitch pin. Well then come back and put on the safety clip on the other side of the hitch pin, and with that our cargo basket is secured to the vehicle and were ready to go ahead and load it up.With our cargo basket secured, well go ahead and give you a few measurements. From the closest point of the basket to the back of the vehicle is 1 inches. The cargo basket will add an additional 24 inches overall length to the vehicle and 9 inches of ground clearance from the back of the basket. Well now go ahead and try to open the cargo door. more

Surco Folding Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan- Video
Today on our 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan well be test fitting the Surco Hitch Cargo Carrier part number 52018F. Some quick notes about this cargo carrier, it does measure 20 x 48 inside the rails, it has 5-1/2 inch tall side rails with rounded corners. Now our cargo carrier is equipped with a light kit. This light kit does not come with the cargo carrier. It would be an added accessory. From the stored position, well go ahead and insert the cargo carrier shank into the hitch. more

Pro Series Extra Large Cargo Carrier Review - 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan- Video
Today on our 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan, we'll be test fitting the Pro Series Hitch Cargo Carrier Product number 5800200. With our vehicle equipped with the 2-inch hitch and our cargo carrier pre assembled we're ready to go ahead and fit it to the vehicle. We'll simply insert the cargo carriers shank into the hitch, we'll light up the hitch pin hole and insert our anti-rattle bolt. With our anti-rattle bolt snug, we can go ahead and tighten it down with a wrench. And with our anti-rattle bolt tight we can put in our safety pin on the other side of the bolt, now our cargo basket is secured. We'll go ahead and open the cargo door and see about gaining access to the cargo area. The cargo door will open fully although we can only get to the corners of the cargo area. more
