Today on our 2005 Ford F150 we will be doing a test fit of the Pewag all-square snow chains with cam tighteners. It's going to be part #PWE2228SC. The tire we will be working on today is going to be a 265 70 R17. Once you pull your chains out, go ahead and lay them down flat and stretch them out to make sure you get all the kinks and tangles out of it. Go ahead and center that up on your tire. The easiest way to do it is to make sure that your cam tighteners are to the inside and your brackets and clamps here with the hooks to the bottom side. more

Today on our 2005 Ford F150 Super Crew Cab we will be installing the Titan Snow Tire Chains with Cam Tensioners featuring a ladder pattern and V-bar links, part number TC2828CAM. The V-bar studs on these chains bites into ice giving superior traction. The ladder pattern design assists with effective starts and stops on ice. These chains are made from a low carbon steel construction which makes them strong and durable. Since our truck is rear wheel drive we are installing these on the rear tires. For our tire size today we're using a 265/70R17. We went ahead and laid our chain out on a flat surface so we can make sure we don't have any kinks or knots in it. more

Today on our 2005 Ford F150 SuperCrew Cab, we will be installing the Titan Snow Tire Chains with the Diamond Pattern and Square Link, part number TC2326. These chains are made from a sturdy, durable alloy construction, which features a diamond pattern that offers more tire coverage. The square links form cross chains, which provide great traction in the snow and excellent grip and stopping power on ice. With this part number, you're going to get two chains, one for each side of the vehicle, and a little carrying case for easy storage. The Titan tire chains have a speed rating of 30 miles per hour. These chains are SAE class S chains. Since our truck is rear wheel drive, we're installing these on the rear tires. Today we'll be using tire size 265 70r17, so to begin our install, we want to go ahead and lay our chain out like this and try to remove all the kinks and all the twists that we can before we install our tire. more

Today on our 2005 F150 SuperCrew Cab, we will be installing the Glacier Cable Snow Tire Chains, part number PW3027C. These chains are designed with a low profile that gives you a smooth ride, which makes it perfect for occasional use in snowy or icy conditions. Since our truck is rear-wheel drive, we are installing these on the rear tires. For our tire size today, we've got a 265 70r17. Now we've went ahead and laid our tire chain on a flat surface, just to make sure that we don't have any knots or kinks in it. We want to make sure that our tension lever is on the outside like it is, and we've also got this little indicator here that shows which way our tire is going to be rotating, so we want to have that on the outside as well. We'll go ahead and pick up our tire chain and we'll place it over our tire, and we'll make sure it's evenly space on both sides of our tire. more

Today we're working with a tire size of 265 by 75/17. First off, it's a good idea to go ahead and lay out the chains and be familiar with them before you actually need them in the ice and snow. We'll go ahead and cover things to look out for when you put them into place. First off, on these hooks right here on the cross bars, these points as well as the V-bar links right here need to be away from the tire. Look underneath the chain, the smooth surface here should be touching the tire. more

Today on our 2005 Ford Escape, we'll be installing the Glacier Cable Snow Chains, part number PW2029C. This kit will come in a set for both the driver and passenger side, and will work for either two or four wheel drive vehicles. Starting on the ground, we've gone ahead and laid out our tire chain. We have the cross sections that will connect the outer cables. Where the cross section meets the outer cable, we'll make sure that the hook of the cross section will face away from the tire. Its smooth surface will go against the sidewall of the tire, so it doesn't dig in and damage the tire. As we've got it laid out here, we'll also go ahead and note that this is a directional chain. It does matter in which direction it's going to move primarily, which will be forward. Now we'll go ahead and put our chain in place. more

These are designed for highway use and have a speed rating of up to 30 mph. These are not intended for off-road application. It will work great on either the front or the rear wheels of the vehicle. Let's take a minute and get them put on the truck. As you can see we've laid them out nice and flat here. Our hooks are facing up towards us, so when we grab this side of the chain and place it over the tire those are going to remain away from our sidewall. more

Today on our 2001 Ford F350 with dual rear wheels, we're going to be test fitting the Titan Chain Dual Rear Wheel Snow Tire Chains in the ladder pattern and the V bar length. The part number is TC4821. This is designed to cover both the passenger side and driver's side, so one part number will take care of an entire axle. We'll show you how to get them installed onto your vehicle. What we're going to do is place our chains on the ground with the hooks side up, got a smooth side here on the back and the hooks are exposed here on the front. We want these to be facing away from our sidewall, so that smooth side will be riding right up against our tire. We've got them all stretched out here, you want to make sure you don't have any kinks or any twists or any tangles to deal with. more

Today on our 2001 Ford F350 Super Duty with dual rear wheels, we're going to be doing a test fit on the Titan Chain, dual rear wheels snow tire chains, with the ladder pattern and twisted links, part number TC4221. As you can see, we've got our chain here, we're going to show you how to get it installed on your vehicle. It comes in a nice water resistant storage bag. To install, the first step we need to do is get these laid out straight. We position this so our center chain is lined up with the middle of our dual rears. Our outer chain is on the outside and our inner chain is on the inside of our wheels. Now we just kind of go ahead and spread this out, again, making sure we don't have any kinks or any tangles. When you're driving onto your chains, you do want to be sure that the hook portion is facing down towards the ground, so when we bring our chain up and over, that will be facing out and away from our sidewall. more

After doing that, we're ready to install them on the vehicle. On the right rear here, we'll lay our chain over the tire, making sure that the chains are centered with our tire tread. Now, we want to make our connections down here at the 6 o'clock position. On the inside of the tire, we'll connect the two ends of the side chain together. more

Today on our 2007 Ford Fusion well be test fitting the Glacier V-Track cable snow tire chains, part number PW1934V, on 205/60/16 tires. This vehicle is front wheel drive so well be installing the tire chains on the front wheels. To begin our test fit well have the chain flat on the ground to undo any kinks or tangles. Well then slide the chain over the top of the tire, center it, and then drive over the chain to allow the male and female ends to be at the top of the tire. This will ease access into installing the chain. With the inside and outside, male and female ends of the tire chain, and then use the chain tensioner, part number PW100, to tightly secure the chain. more

Today on our 2007 Ford Fusion well be test fitting the Glacier cable snow tire chains, part number PW1038, on 105/60/16 tires. To begin out test fit well lay the tire chain flat on the ground to undo any kinks or tangles. Well sit the tire chain over the tire and roll over the tire chain until both male and female hooks are at the top of the tire. Well then insert the male into the female end both on the inside and outside of the tire. Well then secure the tire chain with a rubber tensioner, part number PW100. That concludes todays test fit for the Glacier cable snow tire chains, part number PW1038, on 105/60/16 tires, on our 2007 Ford Fusion.. more

Today on our 2002 Ford Explorer Sport Trac with tire size P255 7 R16s well be installing the Glacier cable snow tire chains for light trucks, part number PW3010C. All well need to do to fit our chains to the vehicle is first ensure that we are using the correct chain on the right side of the vehicle. Youll notice if the cable chains have a tag marking left hand or right hand. Theyll also have an arrow indicating the direction in which the chain should rotate. Another way to tell is make sure that the tensioner on the chains is on the outside of the tire. You can also look at the cross chain connection to the side chain and make sure that the hook faces out. more

Today were doing a fit test for the Glacier cable snow tire chains, part number PW1046, tire size 235 60 18 on a 2010 Ford Flex. First we lay the chains flat on the ground to insure there are no kinks, so that way theres no damage done to the tire once the chains are actually put on the tire. Well use this clip to hole any excess left over from when we fully tighten the chain onto the tire. Since this is a front wheel drive vehicle we will put the chains on the front two tires. Right now were putting the chains on the drivers side. Once youre completed with this then youll go over to the passengers side and repeat the process. more

Today were doing the fit test for the Glacier cable snow tire chains, part number PW2029C for tire size 235 60 18, and this is for a 2010 Ford Flex. First we lay the chains out flat on the ground to insure theres no kinking of the chains. Here we have the lever that well use to tighten the chains onto the tire once weve mounted it. This lag shows the direction that the chains are supposed to go in and what tire they are to be attached to. Since this is a front wheel vehicle the chains will go on the front tires. Right now we are attaching these chains to the drivers side tire. more

Now, this specifically designed V-style links provide extra grip for superior traction in snow and ice. To install these chains, all we need to do is get them out of the packaging and lay them out on the floor to make sure we get any tangles out of the chains. We can then place the chains on the tires, making sure that the hooks of the cross chains face out. You also want to make sure that the cams are on the outside of the tire. Today on this 2007 Ford Crown Victoria, well be installing Glacier Chains Square Link Tire Chains, part number PWPLC1142, in conjunction with the rubber chain tensioner, part number PW100. To begin installing our chains, well remove the chains from the packaging and lay them out flat, making sure we get any tangles that are in the chains out. Once weve done that, well drape our chains over the tire, making sure that the tension holder cam is on the outside of the tire. We also want to make sure that the cross chain links that attach to the side chains hook toward the outside. Well move to the inside of the tire, here at the 6 oclock position, where well connect the two ends of the side chain together, taking out as much as the slack within the side chain as possible. Well then move to the outside of the tire, here again at the 6 oclock position. more

Today on our 2011 Ford Expedition with tire size P275/65-R18, we'll be installing Glacier Tire Chains, part number PW2028C. Now, these tire chains are perfect for the occasional use, a feature of rugged steel wiring covered with case hardened steel rollers for traction. Now before we install our tire chains, we'll get them out of the packaging, lay them flat on the floor and make sure that we have all kinks out of it. We'll then go ahead and identify the correct chain to use and the correct location. Now, each tire chain is labeled with a yellow label indicating the direction of travel as well as which side of the vehicle you'll need to install these chains on. Another great way to find out is to ensure that the hook of the side chains faces outward when mounted on the tire. more

Glacier Cable Snow Tire Chains Review - 2012 Ford Focus PW1038

Today we have with us a 2012 Ford Focus and we're going to be test fitting the Glacier Cable Snow Tire Chains, part number PW1038. To fit our tire chains to our focus, we're going to make sure that we have the steering wheel turned all the way to one direction or the other so that we can access behind the tire of the vehicle. We're going to set the chains over the top of the tire and try to get them as even from the inside to outside as possible. Next we're going to roll our vehicle onto the chains, you can either go forwards or backwards so that we can get the tire over the chains and get our ends where we can connect them. We'll fit the stops through the one end of the cable chain through the hooks on the other. You want to make sure that you match each side stop for stop or you're within one stop. more
