Today on our 2006 Chevrolet Colorado, we're going to do a test fit on the Thule Gate Mate. This is their 54 inch, tailgate pad and bike rack. Part number on it is TH823. The installation of the Gate Mate is very easy. We'll begin just by draping the shorter side over the rear of our tailgate leaving the longer side to come down here at the front. As you can see, I got three straps hanging out here. more

It's got a ratcheting system that allows us to slide out and adjust our rack to many different widths of pickup truck style. You see Ive got it a little bit long here, so I'm just going to allow some of this to come back in, and Ill extend it out enough to where it's just going to sit side to side here.
