Yakima JetStream Crossbars Roof Rack Installation - 2018 Ford Escape- Video
Hi, everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer. And today, we have a Yakima roof rack with the 60 inch long JetStream bars and the towers. We're gonna take a look at how it fits on the 2018 Ford Escape. If you're looking for a roof rack system, because you wanna carry around accessories like kayaks or baskets or even roof-mounted bike racks, this is gonna be a very strong and sturdy system. Comparing it with some others though, you do have one more adjustment point compared to other racks, it might take a little bit longer, but not that much. I'm gonna explain later in this video how it installs. more

Now this roof rack mounts to the raised side rails of your Ford Escape, it's going to allow you to get your favorite accessories up on top of your roof. Whether you got a bike rack, a cargo basket or even a kayak carrier. One of the things I really like about this roof rack is that it's a lot easier to install on the side rails than it would be on a naked roof where you have to have the fit kit with the pad and the clamp to go onto the doorframe. Then you have to get the measurements exactly right it's just that could be a hassle sometimes. more

Speaker 1: Today we're going to be taking a look at the look at the best roof rack options available for our 2018 Ford Escape. When looking at our best roof rack systems available we have these three to choose from. Up at the front we have the Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero roof rack system. Here we have the Thule AeroBlade roof rack system. Finally, we have the Yakima JetStream roof rack system.Now all these three roof rack systems are great, but they do have some differences, and that's what we're going to be focusing on here. Rhino Rack Roof Rack Review - 2018 Ford Escape DK375- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Ford Escape we're going to be test-fitting the Rhino Rack Vortex Aero Roof Rack System, consisting of part numbers RRVA137B-2, these area the vortex aero cross bars 54 inches long. We have the block ones on right now, but these also come in silver as part number RRVA137S-2. We'll also be using part number RRRLKVA, these are the 2500 series legs specifically for the vortex aero cross bars. Finally, part number DK375, and this is going to be the fit kit that clamps around your existing door frame.Now, these roof rack systems are great for carrying a wide variety of accessories such as bike racks, cargo baskets, or cargo boxes, and this can free up space inside your Escape for when you travel. The bars themselves have this nice elliptical shape to it, and that's actually going to cut down wind noise and drag while you drive, that and the vortex aero strip up at the top. This does come with a lock already on it, so once you install this onto your roof it's going to be secure to your roof. more

Malone AirFlow2 Universal Roof Rack Installation - 2018 Ford Escape- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Ford Escape, we're going to be test-fitting the Malone Airflow 2 roof rack system, part number MPG215. These are the 50-inch long cross bars. This also applies to part number MPG216, which are the 58-inch long cross bars.The Malone Airflow 2 is a great roof rack that can carry a wide variety of accessories, while freeing up space inside your vehicle. This can carry anything from bike racks to ski carriers to snowboard carriers to kayak carriers.The bars have an aerodynamic shape to them. And that, coupled with the rubber strip at the top, as well as the one that you would install underneath, that will cut down the wind noise and drag and not necessitate any fairings like you would have to get for square or round bars. Also, it has the added advantage of being able to use T-track accessories with this, and not having to remove the strip completely because you can simply push down the point, here, and slide your T-track accessories in place. more

We're also going to be using part number TH450R for the Rapid Crossroad Foot Packs.This Thule Roof Rack System is going to be great for carrying kayaks, bike racks, and cargo boxes on your Ford Escape. It features premium arrow blades, which are much quieter compared to round or square bars. The aerodynamic design is not only going to cut down on wind noise, but it's going to cut down on drag as well. The load bars can also accommodate most T track accessories. more

Thule Crossroad Roof Rack Installation - 2018 Ford Escape- Video
Speaker 1: Today in our 2018 Ford Escape, we're gonna be test fitting the Thule square load bar rack system consisting of part numbers THLB58, these are the 58 inch square load bars, and part number TH450, this is the Thule crossroad roof mounted roof laying foot pack. This also applies to part number TH45058, which is the complete cross road kit with 58 inch bars.The Thule square load bar roof rack system is great for carrying a wide variety of accessories, such as bike racks, cargo baskets, and cargo boxes. While these are square bars and they're very durable, they will make noise while you drive, so you may need to purchase something, such as an aftermarket fairing, which you can find on etrailer.com. Or, you can also upgrade to the Aero bars, which will cut down that wind noise and drag as well, and you can use T-track accessories with them.The end caps have a plastic knockout, which you can replace with the Thule lock core, which is also sold separately, so you can secure it to your factory rate side rails and even made it keyed alike with your accessories as well. These are very easy to install as they just simply wrap around your existing factory rated side rail, and are tightened down with this bolt and an integrated tool, which you carry with you so you can take this on and off with ease as you travel.From the center of the roof to the bottom of the bar is gonna be about two and seven eighths of an inch. While from the center of the roof to the top of the bar is gonna be three and seven eighths inches. more

Thule AeroBlade Edge Roof Rack Installation - 2018 Ford Escape- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Ford Escape, we're gonna be test fitting the Thule aero blade edge roof rack system and this is gonna be consisting of part numbers TH7502-TH7503. These also come in black as part number TH7502B-TH7503B. The Thule aero blade edge roof rack system is great for carrying a wide variety of accessories on your roof while maintaining that factory style look once it's installed into your factory raised side rails. While you can carry things such as bike racks, cargo baskets or cargo boxes, you are limited with space on these. While it does have that factory look, you lose from this point out as to how many accessories you can put on your roof. So you may just be limited to one cargo basket or two or three bikes as opposed to four. more

Inno Roof Rack Review - 2018 Ford Escape- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Ford Escape, we're going to be test-fitting the Inno Aero Crossbar Roof Rack System, consisting of part numbers INXB108-2, these are the Inno Aero Crossbars, 42 inches long. We'll also be using part number INXS100, and this is the Inno Flush Feet for the Aero Crossbars, particularly for the factory raised side rails.The Inno Aero Roof Rack System is great for carrying a wide variety of accessories on your roof while maintaining a factory style look once it's installed, but it also gives you that extra space in between the roof and the bars here to install your accessories as well.This can carry anything from bike racks to cargo baskets to cargo boxes. Moving our end cap here, which is lockable, you can see that the bar itself has a nice aerodynamic shape to it with a rubber strip up on the top which is going to cut down the wind noise and drag while you're driving. It does accept T-track accessories. Just simply push down as opposed to remove and cut the strips to length once you want to install them, and when they are, you simply reinstall the locking end cap and put it into place.Now, something to note here, since it's cut off at this point here for the roof rack system, you are going to lose some space with accessories once you install these. Again, this is more of an aesthetic choice as opposed to a practical choice.From the center of the roof to the bottom of the bar is going to be about two and seven eighths of an inch. more

Inno Roof Rack Review - 2018 Ford Escape inb127- Video
Speaker 1: Today in our 2018 Ford Escape, we're going to be test fitting the Inno square bar roof rack system consisting of part numbers INB127, these are the Inno square cross bars 50 inches long, as well as part number INFR which are the Inno feet for the crossbars, particularly the factory raised side rails. The Inno square bar roof rack system is great for carrying a wide variety of accessories on your roof, offering up space inside your vehicle. This can carry anything from bikes racks to cargo baskets to cargo boxes. The square bars are very strong and sturdy, however they will make noise while you drive so you may have to purchase an after market fairing, which you can find on etrailer.com. Or you can upgrade to Aero bars, which you can also find on etrailer.com. And they simply wrap around your existing factory raised side rails with a rubber coated steel straps and have integrated knobs here to tighten them or loosen them up as you need, so you can take these on and off as you like while you travel.I'd like to give you a couple of quick measurements now. more
