Yakima Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2019 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited- Video
Hi, everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer, and today, we have the Yakima StageTwo 2-Bike Platform Rack and we'll take a look at how it fits our 2019 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. So the StageTwo is definitely gonna be your heavy-duty, off-road bike rack, but also, with a really good weight capacity for heavy electric bikes. Now, talking about that though, we do have this on our Jeep Wrangler with a large spare tire, so what I had to do was I had to put a hitch extension, that way, the bike rack would sit further back and I'd be able to put it on that hitch receiver. So if you want to use a bike rack, you may need to get a hitch extension too, we have some options here at etrailer. The downside of those hitch extensions is it reduces your tongue weight capacity, and you're gonna have to get a special anti-rattle for it to be secure. But with all that in mind, let's focus on this StageTwo bike rack. more

This is a 4-bike platform rack, which allows you to carry around more bikes without weighing too much or spending too much. There are some downsides to it too which we'll talk about in this video. But main thing with the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited is you have a spare tire. So most bike racks will need the expansion hitch adapter or the hitch extender, which is what we currently have installed. more

So, the Destination E is an awesome bike rack when it comes to those heavier bikes. You have an included ramp, this tilts away almost 90 degrees and you have the straps that help keep everything together. Now, some of those features don't work as well for a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, which is what this test fit video is for. One of them is gonna be the tilt-away feature. more

Kuat Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2019 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited- Video
Hi everyone, John here, and today we're gonna be taking a look at the Kuat Sherpa 2.0 2-bike rack on our 2019 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. This is going to be a great bike rack if you've got road bikes and mountain bikes that you want to get to the trail and have with a friend, I do recommend though keeping in mind that it has a 40-pound weight capacity, so it will be able to handle road bikes, mountain bikes that fit that, but your heavier fat-tire bikes and electric bikes will not be able to be used. Along with having a 47-inch wheel base, so that gives you a good amount of space. Let's take a closer look and see some of the features that this gives you whenever you're trying to get your bikes to the trail. Now, the first feature I want to show you with the Sherpa is the tilt away. This has one of the best tilt-away systems, in my opinion especially for a one bike. more

Saris MHS Modular 2 Bike Rack Review - 2017 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited- Video
Hey everyone, Charles here at etrailer, and today, we're taking a look at the Saris MHS Modular Bike Rack on a 2017 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. This is your platform-style rack that is gonna be held on by both tires, so it's gonna be great for a lot of different size, shapes, and style frames, especially, those carbon fiber frames where a frame mount might warp or damage it. A couple quick things about this rack with this vehicle, we're not gonna be able to utilize the tilt down feature to access our hatch, even if we took the bike off, the spare wheel is still gonna run into that, and we're not gonna be able to fold this up either, because of the spare tire there. But if you wanna continue learning about this bike rack, we are gonna get into that as well as a recommendation towards the end of the video. So this is gonna be made out of steel and aluminum, it's gonna be lighter weight and durable. It's finished with a black powder coat, making it rust resistant. more

So the Thule Hitching Post Pro is gonna be an excellent bike rack option for you and the family because it allows you to carry up to four bikes. Now there's really two main styles of bike racks on the market and that's platform and hanging. So this is a hanging style rack and what hanging style racks do really well is number one, they're very cost effective, certainly when you compare them to the platform counterpart. And number two, they're much lighter weight than those platform style racks. So they're a lot easier to get on and off the vehicle. more

I have noticed that other bike racks do have clearance issues, like you can't use the furthest or I guess the closest cradle because then your bike hits the spare tire, or you don't get enough clearance when it comes to the bottom. Hi everyone, it's Evangelina here at etrailer. And today we'll be taking a look at our Kuat Sherpa 2.0, 2-Bike Rack here on our 2013 Jeep Wrangler, Unlimited. First thing is we are currently using a hitch extender, which is why the Sherpa fits on a Jeep Wrangler, around its spare tire. If you don't already have a hitch extension, that might be something to consider because it won't fit otherwise. Another thing is that the Kuat Sherpa is the bike rack you would get, if you really liked the Kuat aesthetic, the Kuat look, but you don't wanna pay the premium price that the Kuat NV has, and that is where the Kuat Sherpa comes in. Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer. Today on our 2021 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, we're going to be checking out the Thule Hitching Post Pro hitch-mounted bike rack. So first impressions of the rack on the back of the Jeep is, I think it looks really good, you know, but honestly, what doesn't, you know, these Jeeps accept accessories very well. And one of the first things I noticed, which is really important with these Jeeps is to make sure that your rack is going to clear the spare tire. Now, keep in mind, you know, things can change a little bit depending on your hitch and the size of your tire and everything else, but you know, those measurements aren't gonna change dramatically per se. So we still have quite a bit of space in between here. more

Adam: What's going on everybody Adam, with etrailer. Today we're going to be taking a look at the Kuat NV 2.0 on our 2020 Jeep Wrangler unlimited. So one thing I want to let you guys know first to make this fit properly, we are going to need to add a hitch extender. The one we're using here is a Curt and it is going to add about eight inches to the hitch receiver that you currently have. So just take that into consideration when we're going over the measurements and such. There are other options, so depending on what kind of tire you got and what kind of preference you have on branding or extenders, just go ahead and choose accordingly.But with the Curt eight inch extender, we got this to fit pretty well. more

Hollywood Racks Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2009 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited- Video
Today, on our 2009 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, we're gonna be test-fitting the Hollywood Racks Trail Rider 2 Bike Platform Rack.Now we have a bike installed, let's take a closer look and show off some of the features. Now to start, we're gonna have three different points where our bike is secured. We have a hook-and-loop strap on the back wheel right here, and we're also going to have the same thing on the front wheel. Both of those are going to be securing the bike tires onto the wheel trays, and we're also going to have this padded frame hook putting downward force on top of our bike, forcing it down into the cradles. This rubber padding is going to help protect the bike frame from any type of scratches or abrasions.Now one thing that's cool about unloading your bikes, and especially because of how it sits on our Jeep, is that because the bike when installed sits pretty close to the spare tire. It makes it pretty hard to kind of just, you know, jimmy it in there and try to figure out a way to maneuver it around the mast right here, where our hooks are, and the spare tire. more

Inno Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited- Video
Today we have a 2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. We're going to be test fitting the Inno Vertical Hang Four Bike Hanging Style Rack for inch and a quarter and two inch hitches, which is part number INH540. This bike rack is pretty unique. It has a cool way of holding your bikes that hasn't been done a lot. So instead of having two crossbars that are parallel to the ground with each other, they're vertical crossbars and they hold your bike at the cross section of the top tube and the down tube. And then you have a strap in here securing it up top. more

Today, we have a 2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. We're going to be doing a test fit on the Kuat NV 2.0 two bike platform style rack, which is part number NV22B. Now, this is very high quality two bike platform rack. It's going to hold your bikes very steady with no frame contact, which is a nice feature if you don't want any chance of causing any type of damage to the frame of your bike.It's held in by two different points of contact, like I said no frame contact. We got a strap in the back lower right here securing it onto the platform. Then on front, we're going to have this wheel hook putting downward force on top of our front wheel forcing it down into the cradle.Removing it is very easy. more

Today we have a 2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. And we're going to be doing a test today on the Kuat NV2.0 four bike platform style rack, which is part number NV22B-NA22B.Now as I get more into the features you're gonna see right away that this is a very high quality and well constructed bike rack. Kuat definitely took their time and paid attention to all of the little, all the little details when they we're making this.We're going to start with the bike itself, which is held in by two different points of contact. We have strap in the back wheels securing it down onto the platform. And we also have a hook on the front that's putting downward force on top of the bike forcing it down into this wheel tray. What's nice about those points of contact is there's no frame contact here at all. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, we're going to be test fitting the RockyMounts BackStage 2 Bike Platform Rack. This is going to be part number RKY10002.This is a pretty unique bike rack because it has a couple interesting features to it. Much like the other platform style racks out there, this can tilt away from the vehicle with both bikes attached. To do that, they have this handle up at the front here, it's colored blue, you pull that towards you and let the bike rack tilt down like so. And unfortunately, with the wrangler since the door opens out like so, we are going to make contact if we try to do that.But another thing that makes this unique is, that it has the ability to swing out from the vehicle as well with both bikes attached for situations like this. To do that you come to the blue handle here at the base, you turn it to the left to loosen it up. more

Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited- Video
Today on this 2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited we're going to be test-fitting the Swagman Trailhead 4 Bike Rack, part number S63380. As you can see, we already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. Now how the bike is attached to the rack, we're going to have four points of contact with our bike's frame. We're going to have three straps up top here and one off to the side which is going to be an anti-sway strap to keep it from going back and forth, possibly hitting the bike rack or the bikes in front of it. Let's go ahead and take the bike off and set it aside. Now it's always a good habit to go ahead and put the straps back into place once you're done just so you don't lose them while you're driving. With that done, I'm going to go ahead and give you some measurements now. The first one is how much distance is added to the vehicle once your bike rack is installed. I'm going to go ahead and measure from the tire here, since that's the furthest point out. more

Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited- Video
Today, on our 2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, we're going to be doing a test fit of the Thule Vertex. This is going to be your hanging style 4-bike rack, and as you can see we've already got it up here on our vehicle, fitted with a bike on it, so you can see how it'll look and fit before we go through all the measurement. Our measurement we're going to give is going to be from the back of the bumper to the beginning of the rack because depending on what kind of spare tire you have and/or what kind of receiver hitch you have will determine how far it's going to sit away from the vehicle. With this particular receiver hitch that sits out, the receiver sits out 4-3/4 inches, so from that receiver . we'll just do from the center of the pin hole back, it's going to be about 6-1/2 inches. From the center of the pin hole and back, 6-1/2 to here. Overall distance that we've added to the vehicle with the cradle arms out is going to be about 41-1/2 inches, with a rear ground clearance of about 17-3/4 inches. All right. more

Today on our 2015 Jeep Wrangler unlimited we are going to be doing a test fit of the sport rack ridge 4 this will be your swinging style bike rack. It's going to be part number SR2415. One of the first things that we are going to talk about is how we have our bike up here and strapped in. As you can see we have it up here so you can see what it looks like and how it fits on the vehicle before we go into all the measurements. Our first measurement is going to be our closest distance first. Our receiver here does come out from the bumper about 4 1/2 inches now depending on if you have this style or you have the flush mount my vary the closest distance. Also if you have a stock tire instead of your off road tire that would make a difference as well. So what we are going to do is we are going to give you the closest distance from the center of the pin to the T handle here. more

It's very unique because it gives you the option of carrying two of your adult bikes and two of your children's bikes on the back without having to adjust the cradle arms. So we have our 2014 Jeep Wrangler. We're going to be testing the Thule helium aero. This is a folding and tilting 2-bike rack. It's designed for use in both inch and 1/4 and 2-inch hitches. It's part number is TH9042. Now to begin the test fit, we're going to slide the shank of the bike rack right into the receiver tube of our hitch. As we do, we'll hold out on the attached pin, line up our pinholes, allow that pin to go into the hole and I always like to pull back slightly on it just to be sure we give ourselves as much clearance room as we can. more

Today on our 2014 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited we're going to be test fitting this Swagman Titan. This is a folding and tilting 4 bike rack. It's designed for use with both the 1-1/4" and the 2" hitches. Its part number is S63410. To begin our test fit we're going to slide the shank of the rack right into the receiver tube of our hitch. As we slide it in we want to line up our threaded hole with our hitch pin hole. We'll then thread in our anti-rattle bolt and tighten it down with our wrench. more

Today on our 2014 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited we're going to be test fitting the Yakima Full Tilt. This is a folding and tilting four bike-style rack. It's designed for use in the 1-1/4 and 2 inch hitches. It's part number is Y02462. To begin our test fit we're going to slide the shank of the rack right into the receiver tube of our hitch. We want to make sure that our silver anti-rattle device slides in and we'll watch for the small silver pin to pop out in our pin hole just like that. I like to pull the rack back at that point just to give us as much clearance room as there is available. more

Saris Freedom SuperClamp Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2014 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited- Video
Today on our 2014 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited we're going to be test fitting the Saris Freedom Superclamp 2-bike platform-style rack designed to fit 1-1/4" and 2" hitches, part number SA4025. We're going to begin our test fit by sliding the shank of our bike rack into the receiver tube of our hitch. As we slide this in there we'll want to keep an eye out for our pinholes to line up with each other. Then we'll take our anti-rattle bolt and thread it through, making sure we start here on the driver side and go through to the passenger side. Once we get the anti-rattle bolt finger tight we can then use a wrench or socket wrench to finish tightening it all the way down. With this bolt tight it's really going to help take out any rattle or wobble that we may have inside of our hitch. more

Saris Bike Porter Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2014 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited- Video
Today on our 2014 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, we're going to be test fitting the Saris Bike Porter 4-Bike Rack for 1-1/4 inch and 2 inch hitches, part number SA404B. We're going to begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the bike rack into the receiver tube of our hitch. As we slide it in there, we'll go ahead and look for our pinholes to line up with each other. Then we can take our anti-rattle bolt and install it from driver's side to passenger side. Then we can just thread it through. Once we get this hand tight, we'll just use our socket wrench to secure it all the way down. With it fully tight, it's really going to help eliminate some rattle and wobble that we may have inside of our hitch. We'll simply just install the clip on the other side, and then we can go over some measurements. This bike rack is going to give us a ground clearance of about18-1/4 of an inch. The closest point of the bike rack to the rear of our vehicle is just going to measure the mass here at the top. more
