Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2008 Ford Ranger- Video

Here on this 2008 Ford Ranger, we'll go ahead and review and install part number 18252, the Draw Tite 4-Pole Hardwire Kit with a circuit tester. This is what it looks like when it's installed on our Ranger truck. This wire harness will allow you to replace the 4-Pole connector that's pre-existing on this truck like we did here, or you can use this on a vehicle that does not have a 4-pole wire harness at all. One of the best reasons to have this installed on your truck is is that it replaces something that's already corroded up, or in this case here, the 4-pole wire harness is actually from the factory, located behind and underneath and a little bit hard to get to. You can use this to extend it and pull it out and make it a little easier to work with and hook up to your trailer. Our part number includes the wire harness here, of course. It also comes with the quick splice connectors and a circuit tester to help identify the functions of the wires. We'll cover those next in our install.
