Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Installation - 2020 Toyota RAV4- Video
Connor: Hey guys, how's it going Connor here today at etrailer.com. We're going to be taking a look at the Draw-Tite Class II trailer hitch receiver here for our 2020 Toyota RAV4.Our Draw-Tite trailer hitch here is going to be an excellent option for our RAV4. As you can see, we have the 1-1/4" receiver tube opening that's going to allow us to pull a trailer or haul a bike rack or cargo carrier, whichever we want to use it for. So our Draw-Tite Class II trailer hitch here is going to give us a 3,500 pound gross trailer weight rating, which is the amount we can pull outward on our fully loaded trailer. It's also going to have a 350 pound tongue weight rating, which is going to be the downward force on our receiver tube. This is going to be plenty for small or medium duty trailers. more

This is what our hitch is going to look like once we have it installed. The cross tube isn't going to be visible underneath, but the flat black finish on our hitch blends in really well, and its not going to be as noticeable. But the main thing we're going to see is that receiver tube sticking out, and since it is a class 3, it is going to give us that 2" x 2" receiver tube opening, which is going to have the widest variety of accessories that we can mount up. Whether we want to make more room on the inside and put a cargo carrier, we're going to move all our gear to the outside, or if we want to take a bike ride, we can put a bike rack in there and take some bikes with us, or if we need to move a small trailer, we can put a ball out and tow a trailer with it. But regardless of whatever we're going to be using it for, we're going to mount all of our accessories to the hitch pin hole here on the side.Now, the hitch is going to accept a standard 5/8 pin and clip. more

Since it's class 3, it's going to give us that two inch by two inch receiver tube opening. It's going to have the widest variety of options when it comes to accessories that we can mount up. For you to make some room on the inside, we can mount a cargo carrier, put all that gear on the outside of our vehicle, make some room for passengers or pets, or if you want to take a bike ride, we could put a bike rack in here, that way we can hit the trail. more

Now these are not included in the kit, but you can pick them up here at etrailer.com along with some locking devices to keep your accessories secure.If you do plan on doing some light duty towing our receiver chain connection points are going to be a plate style welded to the bottom and you can see we have plenty of room to get most size hooks on or off, but if you are using a rather small hook, just keep in mind it may have a little bit of limitation when it comes to movement because of the flange right here.As far as the weight capacity goes, our hitch is going to have a 300 pound tongue weight, which is the maximum downward force of the receiver tube, along with a 3,500 pound gross trailer weight rating. That's the amount our hitch can pull including the trailer and everything we have loaded on it. more

Today on our 2011 RAV4 we're going to be taking a look and showing you how to install the Draw-Tite Class III Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver, part number 75235. This is what our hitch looks like when it's installed. As you can see, the cross tube is visible, however, it is a round tube design so it's going to fit nicely with the contour of the vehicle. It's going to be a Class III hitch, two inch by two inch. You can see we have a reinforced collar to give it a little extra stability on the receiver tube. The cross tube is going to hang just below the bumper, and it is going to be visible, but it is set back a little bit and not that noticeable, but what I really like about our etrailer hitch here is the finish. It's going to have that flat black carbide finish opposed to the high gloss finish that's on a lot of hitches. So, it blends in really nicely at the bottom and it is less noticeable.It's a class III hitch, which means it's going to give us a 2" x 2" receiver tube opening, and give us a lot of different options of any kind of accessory that we want to mount up. Speaker 1: Today in this 2012 Toyota RAV4 we'll be having a look at and showing you how to install the Draw-Tite Class III trailer hitch receiver, part number 75235.Here's what the hitch looks like installed. One of the first things you'll notice about this hitch is that we have a lot clearance around the receiver, which makes this a great hitch to use with bike racks and cargo carriers, which is what we found that many of our customers are purchasing hitches for, for the RAV4.On the side of our receiver you'll find two pin holes. The larger diameter one here, that's our industry standard 5/8th of an inch diameter hitch pin hole to secure your hitch mount accessories. You can pick up a pin and clip separately on our website as part number PC3. Closest to the rear, this smaller hole is for our J-Pin stabilization device. And what that does is take away some inaudible 00:00:45 shape play and rattle inaudible 00:00:47 what is inserted in your receiver. more

Here's what our hitch looks like installed.First thing you'll notice about the hitch is that we have plenty of clearance around our receiver, which makes this a great hitch to use for bike racks and cargo carriers, which is what we found that many of our customers are looking for when they're buying a hitch for the RAV4.Now, one of the unique features about this hitch that's different than other ones on the market is the finish. The eTrailer hitch features a matte black carbide powder coat finish, which is very scratch and rust resistant. A lot of other hitches feature a gloss black powder coat finish, which is easier to scratch and will corrode easier over the course of time.Now, on the side of our receiver, you'll find the industry standard 5/8th of an inch diameter hitch pin hole that you can use a pin and clip, which is available separately on our website, to secure any of your hitch mounted accessories. On the bottom of the hitch is our rolled steel safety chain loops. Now, what's great about these is if you're towing a trailer that has large diameter safety chain hooks like this one, you can still easily clip on and clip off without any issues. more

Here's what our hitch looks like installed. What's great about this hitch is that we have plenty of clearance around our fascia, making this a great hitch to use with bike racks and cargo carriers. Unlike other hitches on the market, this particular hitch is concealed behind our fascia, so we don't see any of it sticking out. This gives us a nice, clean look.On the bottom of our receiver here you'll find our rolled steel safety chain loops. What's nice about these, even if we have a large diameter safety chain hook like this one for our trailer, we can still easily clip on and clip off. more

Speaker 1: Today, on our 2018 Toyota RAV4, we're going to take a look at and also show you how to install the Curt Custom Fit Class III Trailer Hitch Receiver, part number is C13149.Now, this is what our hitch is going to look like once we get it installed. You'll see our side plate's going to come down on each side, rounded crosstube comes over, meets in the middle at our 2" x 2" receiver tube opening. Now, the opening you can see, it's not quite flush with the end of the bumper, so you really shouldn't have any worries about running into it. We're going to have the nice flush reinforcement collar around the end of it there to kind of clean up the look. You'll see your safety chain connection points are going to hang up. There's a good amount of room there, so whatever size chain you want to connect you shouldn't have any kind of an issue.Now, with this being a Class III hitch with the 2" x 2" receiver tube opening, there are going to be tons of accessories and options you'll have for things to go in it, whether it's a ball mount, bike rack, cargo carrier, really anything else probably made in a Class III variety. more

Speaker 1: Today, in our 2017 Toyota RAV4, we're going to be installing the 1-1/4 inch Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver, part number C12108. And with our hitch installed, this is what it's gonna look like. As you can see, it does hang down below the number, and its tubular design can be seen, but it's fairly far back, so it's not gonna distract too much from the body lines of the vehicle.The hitch, however, does extend out nicely, so it's really flush with the bumper, which will allow it to work with multiple accessories, without clearance issues. It's a class two, 1-1/4 by 1-1/4 inch receiver, which will allow you to carry multiple accessories, such as bike racks and cargo carriers.It's gonna use a standard half inch hitch pin, which is included with this hitch, which will secure all your accessories to the hitch. Our plate here, at the bottom, is gonna have two smaller to medium size safety chain holes, which will allow it to work with several chains. You may have some difficulties with going to the side, but straight on is pretty good.This hitch is gonna have a 350 pound tongue weight, which is the downward pressure on your receiver here. more

Now, the cross tube is gonna stick out, just below our bumper, but mainly what we're really gonna see is that receiver tube sticking out. Speaker 1: Today on our 2013 Toyota RAV4, we're going to be taking a look at showing you how to install the draw-tite class II customer fit trailer hitch receiver, part number: 36588.Here's what our hitch looks like fully installed. The cross tube is going to sit right below the bumper, but mainly we're going to see that receiver tube sticking out. It is a class II hitch, which means it's going to give us that 1-1/4" by 1-1/4" receiver tube and you can see it has that nice reinforced collar, giving an added strength and just an overall clean look. Now, the way we're going to attach all of our accessories is going to be to the hitch pin hole right here and it's going to accept a standard 1/2" pin and clip. They're not included, but you can pick one up on our website using part number PC2.Now, the safety chain connection points are going to be a plate style welded to the bottom. We're gong to have plenty of room to get most size hooks on or off and the fact that it's just slightly offset from the hitch pin hole means that we're not going to have to worry about our hitch pin or even a locking device getting in the way or interfering with our safety chain hoops.As far as weight capacity goes, our hitch is going to have a 300 pound tongue weight along with a 3,500 pound gross trailer weight rating. more

Today on our 2014 Toyota Rav4 we're going to be taking a look at and installing the draw type class 2 trailer hitch receiver. Part number 36588. Here's what this hitch is going to look like once it's installed on the vehicle. As you can see it's tucked up nicely to the underside of the fascia but it's also going to give us plenty of room to work with here around the receiver tube. It's going to be nice and easy to make all of our attachments with any of our accessories we may want to use. It features a 1/2 inch hitch pin hole which is going to be used to secure all the accessories. It has the plate style safety chain connection points with these nice large diameter holes which should make it easy to connect just about any type of safety chain that you may have. It has the 1 1/4 by 1 1/4 inch receiver tube opening with a nice reinforcement collar that is welded on here that will give it a little extra support. more

Today in our 2007 Toyota RAV4, we're going to be taking a look at and installing the Draw-Tite Class III Max-Frame trailer hitch receiver, part number 75235. Here's what this hitch is going to look like once it's installed on the vehicle. We've got our receiver-tube opening and our safety-chain connection points, which are nice and open and easy to get to. Over here, welded to the top of the cross tube, we've got this bracket that's going to allow us to mount up any wiring. That way, if we're planning on towing a trailer on a regular basis, we can mount it directly to this plate. That way we don't have to worry about pulling it in and out of the rear hatch of the vehicle. We've got out 2" x 2" receiver-tube opening, and we've got this reinforcement collar around here, which helps to make it look a little nicer and beef it up a little bit. more

Today on our 2007 Toyota RAV4, we're going to be taking a look at and installing the Draw-Tite Class II Trailer Hitch Receiver, part number 36588. Here's what this hitch is going to look like once it's installed on the vehicle. We've got pretty good easy access to everything here, but it also doesn't stick out too far to where you're always going to bump into it with your shin or your knee when you're trying to get into the cargo area. You can see the cross tube all the way across here but it's tucked up nicely to where most of it's hidden. Here we've got the 1 and 1/4 by 1 and 1/4 inch receiver tube opening with this little re-enforcement collar that's been welded on. We've got the 1/2 inch hitch pin hole right here that's going to allow you to attach all of your class 1 and 2 accessories. Then here we've got these nice big safety chain loop openings so that just about whatever size safety chain loop you may be using with any of your trailers, you shouldn't really have any problem getting them to clip on to your connection points there. more

All right, today on our 2014 Toyota RAV-4, we're going to show you part number C12108. This is a class 2 inch and a quarter trailer hitch. Next, we'll give you some measurements, to help you out in selecting some accessories for your hitch, such as a bicycle rack or a cargo carrier. From top of the receiver opening down to the ground, we have a measurement of thirteen and a quarter inches, and from the center of a hitch pinhole to the edge of the bumper would be about two and three quarter inches. All right, now, this is what our current trailer hitch looks like when it's installed on our CRV. First off, it has an inch and a quarter opening, and on the bottom, it has two hooks for your safety chains. All right, and this uses a half inch regular hitch pin, okay, we can see it has a round tube that goes all the way towards the frame. There's frame brackets that go up from the tube, wrap around the body work, or a trunk pan, and then go through some threaded holes that are in the vehicle. All right, now while we're on the passenger's side, we can see how much clearance we have between the exhaust and the hitch. more
