Roadmaster Diode 7 to 6 Wire Coil Kit Installation - 2020 Chevrolet Colorado

Hi there flat towers, today we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install Roadmaster's diode wiring kit on your 2020 Chevrolet, Colorado. The big difference between these kits though is the umbilical cord that comes with it. You're either going to receive a straight cable with them, which is ideal if you have a tow bar that has channels in it so you can run that cable through those channels. There's also a kit with a coily umbilical cable, and that's ideal if you don't have any channels because that coil is going to keep your cable up off the pavement so it doesn't hang down. It's going to give you that tension from the coils. Diode wiring is going to take all the lighting signals from your motor home and transfer them to the lights here at the back of the vehicle. So people behind you will know your intentions when going down the road. more

Shane: Hey everyone, Shane here with etrailer.com. Today I have a 2012 Chevrolet Traverse and I'm going to walk you through how to install the Hopkins Plug and Play Diode Wiring Kit for towed vehicles. Why we need a diode wiring kit when we're towing our car. Well it's simple, because we want to get the light functions from our RV transferred back to our vehicle so that everybody behind us knows what we're doing. Whether we're turning, braking or driving at night. What is the purpose of the diodes The diodes, what they do is they protect the factory wiring from any back feed from the motor home if there's a wiring issue, if there's a short somewhere and vice versa. more

Shane: Hi, everyone. Shane here at etrailer.com. Today, I have a 2012 Chevrolet Traverse, and I want to walk you through how I installed Roadmaster FuseMaster Fuse Bypass for 50 amp fuses. The reason this vehicle needs it is because, when the car is set up to be in tow mode, you have to have the key in the accessory on position to shift it into neutral. Once shifted into neutral, the key can not be taken out of the ignition because it kind of locks it into place. So you have to be able to shut the power off for the battery. more

Shane: Hey, everyone. Shane here with etrailer.com. Today a 2012 Chevrolet Traverse, and I want to walk through how I installed the Blue Ox fuse bypass. Now, why would we need a fuse bypass for this vehicle In order to flat tow your vehicle behind your motor home, it requires you to pull two fuses. One of the fuses is a 15 amp fuse to your ECM. It requires it to be pulled once the vehicle is put into tow mode. An easy way to do that, rather than each time you want to tow your vehicle, pulling the two fuses out, or pulling that fuse out is to get a fuse bypass. more

You can get it with your six to seven pole cable or without, and if you are getting it with the cable, you can get it in a coilied option, a straight cable option, or a hybrid where it's part coily and straight. Regardless of which one you choose, they're all going to be the same. The only big difference really is that six to seven pin cable that you'll receive with it and that's really going to be determined on which tow bar you purchase, which cable will work best for you. Coily cable's great if you have no cable management and the straight cables are great if you do have cable management, the hybrid cables is really nice. more

Demco Tail Light Wiring Bulb and Socket Kit Installation 2011 Chevrolet Cruze

Ryan : How's it going, Ryan here at etrailer.com. Today on our 2011 Chevrolet Cruze, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Demco tail light wiring bulb and socket kit, with seven to six wire coiled connector. What the bulb and socket kit is going to allow you to do, is hook up to your motor home. That way all the lighting signals here at the back of the Cruze are going to match up with those of your motor home, and keep you safe and legal. One thing I really like about this kit is how it's going to come with everything you need. It's going to include the round, six-way plug here at the front, as well as a coiled cable that lets you plug one end to the front of your Cruze, and the other end into your motor home. more

Best 2016 Chevrolet Equinox Flat Tow Setup - Wiring

Hi there, Equinox owners. Today we're going to be taking a look at the best flat tow options for your 2016 Chevrolet Equinox. There's five main components you'll need when flat towing your vehicle behind your motor home. You'll need your tow bar, which is the connection between your motor home and your vehicle, your safety cables, which is a supplemental connection in addition to your tow bar, your baseplate, which provides a connection point at the front of your vehicle, your diode wiring, which takes all the lighting signals from your motor home and transfers them to the lights at the back of your vehicle so people around you know your intentions when going down the road, and lastly your supplemental braking system, which will apply the brakes in your vehicle when you hit the brakes in your motor home to help it come to a safe stop. Our customers decided to use Blue Ox's baseplate, which is a great baseplate. But, however, I would recommend Roadmaster's direct-connect baseplate kit. I find that the Roadmaster baseplate just has a little bit cleaner installation and provides better connection points when mounting your hardware such as your electrical and breakaway switch. Our customer opted for Roadmaster's Falcon 2 tow bar. more

Roadmaster Diode 7 to 6 Wire Coil Kit Installation - 2014 Chevrolet Equinox- Video

Roadmaster Diode 7 to 6 Wire Coil Kit Installation - 2014 Chevrolet Equinox

Hi, there, Equinox owners. Today in your 2014 Chevrolet Equinox, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install Roadmaster's Diode Wiring Kit. Your Diode Wiring Kit will take all the lighting signals from your motor home, transfer them to the lights here at the back of the vehicle, and the diodes are installed to prevent any of those signals from backfeeding into your vehicle causing any damage. Diodes act as a one-way check valve, so the electricity can only go to your lights, illuminating the lights. You can see here that we've got our hazards on and our motor home and the lights at the back of the vehicle are blinking just the same.Compared to some of the other options out there such as magnetic lights or bulb and socket kits. This is going to be a much cleaner installation and it's going to be there ready to use it every time you hook up. more

Roadmaster Universal Diode Wiring Kit Installation - 2019 Chevrolet Colorado- Video

Roadmaster Universal Diode Wiring Kit Installation - 2019 Chevrolet Colorado

Ryan: How's it going, Ryan here at etrailer.com. Today on our 2019 Chevrolet Colorado, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Roadmaster Diode Wiring. This is going to allow you to transfer the lighting signals from the back of your motor home to the back of the Colorado. That way you'll be safe and legal as you flat tow your Colorado down the road. What I really like about these compared to some of the others is the fact that once we get them installed, all we have to do to use them as plug them in, compared to some of the other ones where we have to drill into our taillight housing, or like the magnetic style, for example, we have wires hanging we have to set it up every time and we have to worry about those magnets scratching up our truck's paint. Our diodes are actually going to separate our new wiring from our factory wiring and that's especially useful in the case of a short or something like that, it's going to protect our factory wiring from any type of damage and to fully complete our wiring setup, I used a Roadmaster 6-pole connector, as well as a bracket, a long no-drill bracket and a coiled cable. Now putting together a flat tow setup can be a little bit overwhelming, but keep in mind, there's only five main components. more
