So first impressions of the rack on the back of the Highlander. It's big, there's really no way around it, but if you want to carry around four bikes on a platform-style rack, it's something we're just gonna kind of have to live with. On the same note though, what kinda separates this one from some of the other platform-style racks of this size is how much this one weighs. It's pretty lightweight, believe it or not. more

So my first impression of the rack on the back of the Highlander, I think it looks pretty good. And it's going to be a great way to carry around a couple of bikes. One of the really nice things with this setup is it's simplicity, not a whole lot to it. But that doesn't mean that it's not going to get the job done. So kind of my first impressions of the hitching post pro on the back of the Highlander is I think it looks really good. actually, the rack has a nice, modern and simple design to it, more or less kind of just like the Highlander. So it's a good, a good matchup. I'd say with that said, though it's going to be a great way to carry around a lot of bikes. This one can hold up to a total of four and one of the best parts about it is the fact that it's super easy to use one of the more simple racks and it does a great job of holding your bikes. more

Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer Today on our 2021 Toyota Highlander, we're going to be checking out the Kuat NV 2.0, hitch mounted bike rack So my first impression of the rack on the back of the Highlander, I think it looks really good actually, these Kuats are top notch when it comes to functionality and the appearance. And I really think it shows well on the back of the Toyota. I also like how high it sits off the ground, you know, it's, it's relatively high off the ground and that's going to, you know, do a good job of help keeping our bikes protected, you know, and, and we're not going to have to worry about hitting curbs and things like that. With that said, one of my favorite things about the setup is you're going to be able to kind of grow into it, if that makes sense or change it to meet your particular needs. So today we have a two bike version that we're showing off but there's also a four bike version. And the cool thing is if you're unsure, if you need that four bike version just yet, you can actually get add-ons and kinda add on as you need to meet those particular needs that you may have in the future with that said too, all of those options are going to be available in three different colors. more

Hey, everybody, welcome to etrailer.com. I'm Bobby and today we're taking a look at the Yakima backroad four bike rack carrier on our 2018 Toyota Highlander. Now this can be an excellent way of getting four bikes to your destination, whether it be for friends or family. Taking a look, you can see, we do have a hanging style rack here today. So if you're looking at a way of getting those carbon frame bikes to your destination unfortunately this isn't going to be a great option as we do have frame contact so we will end up warping and deteriorating those carbon frames. However, with the 37 a half pound weight capacity we are going to get most of our standard and mountain bikes up on here with no trouble. more

What's up everybody It's AJ with etrailer.com Today, we're gonna be checking out the Kuat NV 2.0 on our 2020 Toyota Highlander. It's gonna be a platform-style bike rack, that way you can carry up to two bikes with you wherever you're going to ride. What's nice about this one is it has got the wheel hook so it's gonna hold it by the wheel. We have a carbon-frame bike on here today, and it's nice and holds by the wheel that way there's no frame contact, so we don't have to worry about it getting scratched up or ruined or dented from a hook coming down right on it or it hanging by the frame. So, it's gonna be good for road bikes, mountain bikes, and even fat-tire bikes. The cradles down here are wide enough to accept those, as well as the straps over here that hold the wheels in. more

Hi, everyone, it's Aiden here with etrailer.com. And today, we're gonna be taking a look at the Kuat Transfer V2 Single Bike Rack on our 2019 Toyota Highlander. And it's gonna be a platform-style rack that's gonna hold your bike down there at the back wheel with a little wheel strap and up here with a wheel hook. Now, what that means is you're gonna be able to carry a lot of different styles of bike because there's no frame contact here. So, our carbon frame bikes are gonna be good to go with this bike rack, as well as some of your e-bikes, sometimes those have alternative frames, or women's bikes, those will be good too because again, we're not relying on this top tube for any sort of securing this down to the bike rack. Now, I really like this too because the Kuat Transfer is super easy to use. more

Swagman RV and Camper Bike Racks Review - 2019 Toyota Highlander- Video
Hi, everybody. Adam here with etrailer. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at the Swagman E-SPEC on our 2019 Toyota Highlander. So, if you're looking for a bike rack to get those heavy bikes to and from your destination, the E-SPEC is gonna have 70 pounds per bikes so it's gonna be great for those electric bikes like you see here. It's not gonna be great for your fat tire bikes as we do have a limitation on wheel width. So, this is only going to accept up to three inches entire width and we are gonna have about 48 inches in wheelbase and what makes it possible is the cradles. more

You don't have any sort of frame contacts. You don't have to worry about a hook coming down and not fitting over your top tube or having a carbon-frame bike that's a little bit more fragile. What's going on, everybody, Adam here with etrailer. Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Kuat NV 2.0 base on our 2016 Toyota Highlander. If you're looking for a higher end bike rack this is definitely going to cover a lot of the bases, it's gonna be able to accept a lot of different bikes and we are going to be able to pick a color. So we have matte black here, we also have metallic black or gunmetal gray. But also we can have eventually add onto this, so it's a two bike configuration now, but we can turn it into a three bike or a four bike rack. We're going to have a weight capacity of 60 pounds per bike, so if you have a lighter electric bike or a fat tire bike, we're going to be able to use those with this rack. more

Hello everyone. It's Evangeline from e-trailer. And today we are looking at our Inno tire hold two bike platform style rack here on our 2021 Toyota, Highlander. This is a great bike rack if you are looking for something that has a wheel mount as well as is compatible with your heavy electric bikes, your carbon frame bikes, or even your fat tire bikes.One of its features is that you can tilt it away and to do so you need to pull this lever over here and then it drops down. And from here you can see if you can access your trunk. So, it comes close but there's definitely clearance between our door and our bike and this allows us to get into our trunk to put away groceries or grab things for your bike ride like your helmet or your water without having to worry about taking off the bike completely or even the bike rack.To lift it back up all you need to do is lift it back up and then it snaps into place. more

So this rack is going to be great for all types of bikes, but particularly those bikes with carbon fiber frames. And that's because it's going to hold the bike down or secure it using these wheel hooks. So we're not going to have to worry about any frame contact or our paint job getting messed up, everything like that.Now, a lot of times with these multi bike platform racks, there's an issue when you go to load a couple bikes on it. You don't have a ton of room here, and so a lot of times what can happen is your handlebars can kind of interfere with your other bike and kind of just make it a pain. more

Now, this one does fold down out of the way. It gives us the ability to do that. First thing you want to do, is take this little thumb screw here, just back that off the turner to pull out the pen and pull the remainder of it out. So this rack can hold up to a total of four bikes and right away, the first thing I noticed is where the rack is going to hold the bike in relation to our Highlander's back window. And to me, it's right there in that sweet spot. Whenever you're looking out of the rear view, you can still kind of keep an eye on your bikes, but they're not going to sit up so high that they're really going to block or affect your vision.So the way the rack works is really simple, and that's one of the things I like about it. Rob: Hey, everybody. Rob here at etrailer.com, and today we're to be taking a look at the Thule Hitching Post Pro hanging style bike rack on our 2017 Toyota Highlander. Our Hitching Post Pro allows us to take up to four bikes with us, if we want to hit the trail with some family or some friends, maybe just taking a day trip to the park. But a hitch mounted bike rack is going to be one of the easiest ways, I think, to carry up to four bikes with you. It definitely beats cramming your bikes into the back hatch of your Highlander, and for me personally, it definitely beats a roof rack because I'm a little bit on the shorter side and I don't want to have to lift my bike up over my head to get it onto the bike rack on a roof. So a hitch mounted bike rack just makes it a lot easier to use.Now it is a hanging style bike rack, so we're going to have three points of contact. more

Now, I really liked this rack mainly because of how it's designed. It's going to have two wheel hoops so there's no frame contact. So, it's extremely good for those carbon bikes where you don't want that frame contact, you don't want to have anything scratching the paint job or anything like that.But the other thing I like about it is, is once you get two bikes on here a lot of times we end up with interference. You can see the handlebars here are already coming into the space where this second bike trailers but the nice part about it is we have our two wheel hoops, we can loosen them up. more

Now, our Camber's going to allow us to take up to four bikes with us to, and from the trail. And in my opinion, I prefer a bike rack that attaches to the hitch rather than a trunk mount or a roof mount rack. Mainly because I'm a little bit on the shorter side and I don't really like the idea of lifting my bike up over the head and potentially scratching the Highlander. more

Also, we actually do have a two bike version that comes with a two inch shank. Unlike the one we have here, it's going to be both, but that one, two inch shank version of the two bike version of this bike rack, we can actually add another one onto that, so there is some options here. Kuat Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2019 Toyota Highlander TS02B- Video
Hi, there, Highlander owners. Today on our 2019 Toyota Highlander, we're going to be taking a look at Kuat's transfer platform bike rack. This is available in either a two- or three-bike rack version, in either black or gray.This bike rack is a platform-style bike rack, which is going to be ideal, particularly if you have carbon fiber bikes, due to the way it mounts to the rack. This is going to hold it in place with the hook here in the front, clamping your front tire down inside the cradle, and then the smaller cradle here in the back holds your rear tire using the cam buckle strap.The step-through design of this bike rack makes it easier to remove your bike. Once you've got the first bike rack off, if you're only carrying the one, you can just move this arm out of the way and you can get right up in there inside of the bike rack to more easily pick up your bike and set it aside. Today, on our 2019 Toyota Highlander, we're going to be taking a look at Rhino-Rack's hanging style two-bike rack.This bike rack will hold your bike in place using the frame. There are three points of contact that holds it in place. There's two on top for your top beam, and then one for the vertical beam here that will keep it from swaying back and forth, to prevent bike-to-bike contact as well as bike-to-rack contact.It features grooved cradles, which gives you a channel for your brake cables to sit down in-between. So, that way, when you're going down the road, your cables aren't scratching up the bottom of your frame.When you're ready to remove your bike, simply pull down on the rubber straps, and release them from the hooks. Then you can pick your bike up, pull it off, and you're ready to hit the trail.You'll want to keep in mind that when your bike rack is installed on your vehicle it is going to add to the length of your vehicle. This is important to remember when you pull into your garage, before you shut the door, or if you're in a parking lot where you have any tight maneuvers you need to make.From the edge of our rear bumper to the furthest point, it's going to be about 26 inches; from the ground to the closest point, it's going to be about 17 inches; and the closest point of our rack to our rear bumper is going to be here, at about seven inches. more

Reese Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2019 Toyota Highlander- Video
Hi there Highlander owners, today on your 2019 Toyota Highlander we're going to be taking a look at Reese's Explore bike rack. This bike rack is a hanging style bike rack that'll hold up to three bikes. It secures the bikes in place using the cradles here at the top and then secures it at two points using the hook and loop fasteners on each side. The cradles that your bikes will sit in is rubberized, which will give it extra grip to keep it in place and there's a channel located in the bottom for your brake cables to go to keep those from rubbing up against your frame, causing any scratches or abrasions. When you're ready to take your bike off, simply pull the hook and loop fasteners loose, feed them out of the eyelets, and then you can just lift your bike off.You'll notice here with our Highlander if we try to open the door, it will contact our bike rack there. So we'll go ahead and shut the door and tilt it away. more

Hi there, Highlander owners. Today on our 2019 Toyota Highlander, we're going to be taking a look at Rola's hanging bike rack. These are available with either a two or three style hanging bike rack. This rack holds your bike in place on your top bar at two locations using the rubberized straps, and one on your vertical bar, using a rubberized strap as well. The one here at the vertical bar is to help prevent movement back and forth, to prevent bike to bike contact, as well as prevent bike to rack contact.Each cradle's going to have grooves in it. These grooves are designed to let your brake cables fit in them so that way there's clearance so that way they're not rubbing up against your frame causing any scratches or abrasions. more

Now, my favorite thing about this rack is that it's going to be made from aluminum. So it's going to be incredibly lightweight and easy to maneuver. We're not going to have to worry about any rust or corrosion issues either. And since it is fairly compact, if we're not using it, we're able to store it inside of our car without any issues. more

Thule Hitching Post Pro Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2018 Toyota Highlander- Video
Today in our 2018 Toyota Highlander, we're going to be test fitting Thule's Hitching Post Pro 4 bike hanging carrier. Our bike is held in place with three straps, two for the top of the frame and one on the vertical shaft to keep it from rattling, preventing any bike to bike contact as well as bike to rack contact.The cradles where our bike sit have grooves in the bottom and this is for your brake cables so that way they'll fit down in the groove and they won't rub or cause any abrasions to the bottom of your bike frame. The straps are adjustable using the multiple holes and they're easy to take on and off. You simply just pull it off the loop and if you're putting it on, you simply pull it down on the loop. We'll now take all of our straps loose, both on top and one on the side and we can remove our bike.Simply lift up and slide the bike off and now you're ready to ride. We'll give you an idea of how far it sticks out. more

Today we're going to take a look at the Thule Camber on our 2016 Toyota Highlander.So this is going to be a hanging style bike rack that can hold up to four bikes with three tie down points per bike. You're going to have two up top here, and one anti-sway cradle on the bottom. And what that's going to do, it's going to limit that bike-to-bike contact that you get when you're going down the road.So let me just go ahead and show you how easy it is to get your bike off this rack. It has a zip tie style strap, so you got to press in this little pressure pin, and as you can tell, there is a rubberized coating underneath here, so that's going to protect the top of your frame of your bike. And also, there is a rubber insert in the actual part of the strap itself, and with these little ridges, and what that's going to do, it's going to make room for your bike cables, so they're not smashing up against your frame when you're headed down the road. more
