Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2020 Chrysler Pacifica- Video

It's Collin here at etrailer and today we've got a 2020 Chrysler Pacifica and we've been test-fitting some hitch mounted accessories on it and right now we have the Thule Camber bike rack installed and loaded up with a bike. So, let's go over some features of it, show you how it interacts with your Pacifica.Now, this is a hanging style bike rack, so you're going to be able to get four bikes loaded onto it. It's going to hold your bikes by the top tubes and it's just going to be a really nice way to get your bikes to and from the destination. What's nice about this hanging style bike rack is that there's actually a very good amount of spacing between the cradles right here. It's a lot more than you would see with other hanging-style racks like maybe the Thule Hitching Post Pro, which is another product we carry here at etrailer. more

So this is going to be a great bike rack for a lot of different reasons, one of which it is going to be a wheel hook. So for your carbon fiber bikes, as you see here, it's going to be great for those just to protect that pretty frame. Also, it's going to be great for not only just road bikes like you see here also mountain bikes, and some of your narrower fat tire bikes, just because of this big old cradle here. more

So if you have a full car and everybody wants to ride a bike, I do think that a four bike rack will work for you. We have a couple of them that are five bike rack, but this one right here are only going to hold about four, but it is going to have about three tie down points per bike. Hi everyone, Adam with etrailer.com. Today we're going to be taking a look at the Thule Apex XT hanging style bike rack on our 2020 Chrysler Pacifica. So the Chrysler does have a lot of seats in it, so a two bike rack isn't necessarily going to get a bike for everybody, but if you're ever going to the park or something like that and you just plan on having at least just one or two people going and riding, I think this will be a good choice for you guys. There's a couple of features I want to go over, but one is just the fact that we do have three tied on points per bike, one being a anti sway cradle, so whenever we're starting or stopping it's going to help this bike from either hitting a center mast or just clanking into each other.So we can go ahead and take this bike off the rack. Before we do that, I want to show you guys this. This is a bike cable so it is integrated into the center mast here. more

Saris Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2020 Chrysler Pacifica- Video
Adam: Hi everyone, Adam with etrailer.com. Today we're going to be taking a look at the Saris Glide EX 5 Hanging Style Bike Rack on our 2020 Chrysler Pacifica. Yes, this one does carry five bikes to and from the destination, so that is probably why it would be a good choice for this Pacifica, we can fit a lot of people and if they all have bikes, this was probably our best bet to get them to and from our destination. There is a four bike rack version available and it does have three different colors, black as you see here, it's also going to have bronze and blue.So, if you like that look or if it matches your vehicle, definitely go ahead and pick the color you want. So, other than that, let's start with .. The main feature with this hanging style bike rack is the fact that we can actually tilt with the bikes installed, all we got to do is pull this little trigger here and tilt it away. more

Hollywood Racks Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2020 Chrysler Pacifica HLY94FR- Video
Adam: Hi everyone, Adam with etrailer.com. Today we're going to be taking a look at the Hollywood Racks Destination 2 on our 2020 Chrysler Pacifica. This one in particular, I'm showing this today just because it does have a significant rise to our shank, but we do have a 4-bike rack version as well. So, if you don't think you'll be going up any steep driveways or off-roading, I do think the 4-bike rack version would be a good choice just because this thing can hold quite a bit of passengers. But, if you guys are just planning on taking two bikes with you, maybe even off-road or something like that, this one's going to have a little bit more ground clearance than some of the others.So, let's go ahead and just talk about how it straps into our bike. We have two wheel cradles front and back. more

Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Chrysler Town and Country- Video
Jake: Hey guys, it's Jake here with the trailer. Today we have a 2016 Chrysler Town And Country and we're going to be doing a test fit of the Thule EasyFold XT bike rack. This is going to be a two bike rack that's going to mount to the hitch of your vehicle, to be able to get your bikes to and from the trails. Right off the bat I want to point out a few things that's going to set this bike rack apart from other bike racks. Right now we do not have rear hatch access, so we're not going to be able to access anything that's inside our car. To gain that rear hatch access, we're going to step down on this lever here, push it down until it's disengaged, and then we can lean our bikes with both loaded away in the loaded position. more

RockyMounts Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2018 Chrysler Pacifica- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Chrysler Pacifica, we're going to be test fitting the RockyMounts backstage two-bike platform rack for 2-inch hitches, part number RKY10002. Now, this has a lot of good features to it.The most important feature about this bike rack is the fact that it can tilt or swing away from the vehicle to gain rear hatch access. The tilt feature works like any other. You have a blue handle up at the front here. You pull that out, and this is nice to have it in this area here, as opposed to some bike racks which have it towards the front here, where if you have two bikes installed, it's a little hard to get to that area. We'll pull out, let it tilt towards us, and then we have rear hatch access. more

RockyMounts Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2018 Chrysler Pacifica RKY10004- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Chrysler Pacifica, we're gonna be test fitting the Rockymounts monorail two bike platform rack for 2" hitches, part number RKY10004. We already have our bike installed on the rack. Let's take a closer look here and like most platform style racks, this can tilt away from the vehicle with both bikes still attached to gain rear hatch access. What Rockymounts' changed up with this one in particular is how they do that. Instead, they have this blue handle at the end, which makes it a lot easier to get to when both bikes are attached, as opposed to that latch that's closer up towards the front that can be kind of difficult if you have bikes attached. You'll pull that out while holding onto the bike rack like so and let it come towards you and then we have rear hatch access and as this opens up, you're gonna notice it's very close to the bike. more

Today on our 2008 Chrysler Town and Country, we're going to be test fitting the Thule T2 Classic 2 Bike Platform Rack, part number TH9044. We already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's take a closer look and show off some of the features. One of the most prominent features about this bike rack is the fact that it can tilt away from the vehicle with both bikes still attached to gain rear hatch access. To do that, we'll first pull this silver pin at the base and then come to this lever, pull towards us while holding onto the bike rack, let it come forward and down. Now we have hatch access. However, I would like to point out, if your handle bars are any longer than this, it may make contact with your hatch. You can also see that we have plenty of space on either side in between the bike rack and the vehicle to get what we need as well. more

To do that, we have this convenient handle up here at the front. What you do is you pull it towards you holding onto the bike rack, let it come down. Unfortunately, with this particular year, make, and model, it will make contact with the handlebars as you can see there, but you do have partial access to your rear hatch. To put it back in its original position, just grab it by the handle, lift up until you hear the click. more

Today on our Chrysler Town and Country, we're doing a test fit of the Thule Doubletrack Platform-Style 2 Bike Rack, that part number is: TH990XT. Now we all ready have our bike secured down. We're first going to show you how we secure it in place. At the front and back tire, we have cam buckle straps. These are going to be cam down with the gray portion. We just push down on that, lift straight up to release it. To loosen our strap, we're going to push on the top portion of the black piece, and we will just pull that strap straight out. more

Pro Series Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2017 Chrysler Pacifica- Video
Today on our 2017 Chrysler Pacifica we're going to be test fitting the Pro-Series Q-Slot platform style two and four bike rack, part number PS63138. We already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. The most prominent feature of this bike rack is the fact that you can actually remove this rear section here just to make it a two bike version. How it holds your bike in place, we're going to have three points of contact. We're going to have two hook and loop straps on each wheel, and then we're going to have this frame hook up at the top which is padded. It's padded to ensure that your bike does not get scratched up once it's being installed. Let's go ahead and take the bike off and set it aside. more

Softride Element-Parallelogram Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2017 Chrysler Pacifica- Video
Today in our 2017 Chrysler Pacifica, we're going to be test-fitting the Softride Element Parallelogram Tilting Bike Rack for inch and a quarter and two-inch hitches, part number SR26248. We already have our bike installed on our rack. Let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. The most prominent feature of this bike rack is the fact that this can actually tilt away from the vehicle with all four bikes still attached, which is pretty unique for a hanging-style bike rack. To do that, you come on the passenger side here at the mast, pull out the black T-handle, let it tilt away, and now we have full access to our rear hatch to get what we need, and plenty of space on either side to do so. We'll just push it back up into its original position until you hear a click like that. Some of the other features we have here, there are two reflective surfaces on the end here, as well as two points to attach any cable lock that you might want, to secure your bikes to the rack. The cradles are adjustable and have grooves on the side here so that your cables and things like that will actually go through those instead of being smashed by the frame. more

Today on our 2017 Chrysler Pacifica, we're going to be test-fitting the Thule Vertex swing-out bike rack, part number TH9031XT. We already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's go take a closer look and show off some of the features. The first and most prominent feature is the fact that this bike rack can swing out away from the vehicle so you can gain rear hatch access without having to take the bikes off, which is pretty unique for a hanging-style bike rack. To do that, we'll first loosen up this knob at the rear, take it out all the way, lift up on this T-handle here, and it will start to swing out. Once you get to about the 90-degree portion of it, turn it in, and you hear a little click, and then just simply push it the rest of the way. First, we'll have to remove this T-handle here in the center, and then re-insert it here. Now we have full access to our rear hatch to do what we need and plenty of space to do so. more

Today on our 2017 Chrysler Pacifica, we're going to be test fitting the Yakima Swingdaddy 4 bike rack for two inch hitches, part number Y02464. We already have a bike installed on the rack, let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. First off, and the most improminent feature of this back rack, is the fact that it can swing away from the vehicle to give you full hatch access without having to remove the bikes, which is pretty unique for a hang style bike rack. To do that, you come to the back here where you have this handle, unscrew it, and lift up on this knob here to release it. Then we'll start bringing it out. Once we get to just about 90 degrees here, we're going to go ahead and swing this part around until you hear a click. Once you hear that, it's locked into this position and then you simply push it out the rest of the way. Now we have full access to our rear hatch to get what we need. To fold it back in its original position, it's very easy. more

Hollywood Racks Trail-Rider Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Chrysler Town and Country- Video
Today on our 2016 Chrysler Town & Country we're going to be doing a test fit on the Hollywood Racks Trail Rider 2-bike platform-style rack, part number HR200. The bike attaches to the rack in three locations. It's got a frame hook here on top that's padded to help prevent scratching the frame of your bike. Then it's got a wheel cradle at front and back that has a hook and loop fastener that goes over it to strap the wheel down into the cradle. Now let's go ahead and remove this bike so we can check out some of the other features. Squeeze the tab here in order to raise the frame hook. Then we'll undo the hook and loop fasteners. more

Hollywood Racks Sport-Rider-2 Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Chrysler Town and Country- Video
Today on our 2016 Chrysler Town & Country, we're going to be doing a test fit on the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider 2 Two-Bike Platform Style Rack, part number HR1000. The key feature of this rack is that you're able to tilt it away from the rear of the vehicle in order to gain hatch access when the bikes are mounted on it. In order to do that, you've got these two pins and clips here. You want to remove the smaller pin and clip first and then this larger one, and you can tilt it away. As you can see, that'll not quite gain us full access to our cargo area but enough that we will be able to get anything in or out that we may need. Then when you're done, you simply tilt it back up, reinstall the smaller pin first, and then the larger pin. This rack secures the bike in three locations. First one is the frame hook on top that's padded to help prevent scratching the frame of your bike, and then at the wheel cradle in both front and back, got hook-and-loop fasteners to tie it down. more

Today in our 2014 Chrysler Town & Country we're going to be doing a test fit on the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider 2 Platform Style 2 Bike Rack. That's part number HR1000. I've already got it loaded up on the Town & Country just to give you a good idea of what it looks like and how it's going to hold our two bikes. It actually secures them with three points of contact. We have our rubberized frame hook that goes over our top tube putting down pressure on the whole bike into our front and rear cradles. Then we've got a hook and loop strap that goes over our wheels, keeping everything in place. Not a bad way to secure our bikes. more

I've already got it loaded up just to give you a good idea of what it looks like and how it's going to hold our two bikes. The nice thing is it actually holds our bikes with zero frame contact. We have these wheel hook going over our front wheel putting down pressure into the front wheel cradle. For our rear wheel, we've got a strap going over the top and a ratchet strap keeps it down and secure. We don't have to worry about any scratches or any harm coming to our frame so it's a really nice feature if you've got a carbon fiber bike like what we have here. more

Today on our 2012 Chysler Town & Country, we're going to be test fitting the Curt Premium 4 bike rack, part number C18064. We already have a bike installed on the rack, let's go ahead and take a close look and show off some of the features. The first feature I'd like to show off is how the bars are shaped. This is pretty unique for a hanging style rack. They start narrow and then they fan out as they go towards the rear. With the narrower ones, you can use this for smaller bikes such as kids' bikes. The cradles are adjustable along the arms to make loading a little bit easier. more

Today on our 2012 Chrysler Town & Country, we're going to be test fitting the Kuat Transfer three bike rack, part number TS03G. We already have a bike on the rack. Let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. The first feature we'd like to show of is that with this van in particular, the hitch sits pretty low to the ground. Thanks to the raised shank of the bike rack itself, you're not going to have an clearance issues with your bikes. Another really great feature about this is the fact that this can tilt away from the vehicle with the bike still attached. To do that, I'll have to lift these up here just to get to it. more

You'll pull that up and around your bikes and attach it to this point here, and lock it in place to prevent theft and tampering. Today on our 2012 Chrysler Town & Country, we're going to be test-fitting the Thule Vertex Swing 4 Bike Rack, part number TH9031XT. We already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's go and take a closer look and show off some of the features. The first and probably most important feature of this rack is the fact that this can swing away from the vehicle with the bike still attached, which is pretty unique for a hanging-style rack. To do that, we'll unscrew this knob at the back, it's loose enough, we'll remove this pin here, and just set it off to the side for now, then lift up on this T-handle, like so, and that will release the actual swing function. Bring it around, and then we'll bring the rack itself back on, like so, so it'll catch right there, and then we'll keep on pushing it the rest of the way, like so. more

Softride Element-Parallelogram Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2012 Chrysler Town and Country- Video
Today on our 2012 Chrysler Town and Country we're going to be test fitting the Softride Element Parallelogram Tilting Four Bike rack or number SR26248. We already have a bike installed on the rack, let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. Now probably the most important feature about this bike rack is the fact that you can tilt it away from the vehicle with the bikes still attached which is pretty unique for a hanging style bike rack. To do that, there's this black handle on the passenger side of the mast. You pull that out like so, let it come towards you and with that, we have total access to our rear hatch to get whatever it is that we need with plenty of space on either side to do so. Like as you see here. To put it back in it's original position you just push it back up, like so. The cradles themselves are adjustable you just pull out these plastic pieces in between and set them up however you like. more

Pro Series Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2012 Chrysler Town and Country- Video
Today on our 2012 Chrysler Town & Country, we're going to be test-fitting the Pro Series Q Slot 4 Bike Rack part number PS63138. As you can see, we already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's go and take a closer look and show off some of the features. Now for this particular vehicle, the first feature I like to show off, is the fact that the pitch itself kind of sits low to the ground and since this has a ray 00:00:21 shank, you're not going to have any ground clearance issues with this bike rack. One of the main features is while this is a four bike rack here, you can remove this section on the end and turn it into just a two bike rack if you wanted to. How the bike is actually attached to the rack, we're going to have three points of contact. more

Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2012 Chrysler Town and Country- Video
Today on our 2012 Chrysler Town & Country we're going to be test fitting the Swagman XT 2-bike rack, part number S64650. As you can see, we already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. Now this is one of the more simplistic bike racks, and it only grips your bike by one point of contact. That's going to be the padded hook here at the top of the frame. We also have two wheel cradles that are adjustable. more

Yakima HoldUp Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Chrysler Town and Country- Video
Today on our 2015 Chrysler Town and Country we're doing a test fit of the Yakima hold up platform style two bike rack. That part number is Y02443. Now, we already have our bike secured down. I'm first going to show you one of the key features of this rack. If we come here to the front at the closest point to our bumper we're going to have this red knob. We'll grab the back of our bike rack and pull that knob out while lifting up on our rack just a bit. more

Today on our 2015 Chrysler Town & Country we're doing a test fit of the Thule T2 Pro Platform Style 2 Bike Rack. That part number is TH9034. I already have our bike secured down. First going to show you one of the key features. We'll come here to the back and squeeze our handle together we're able to lower our bike rack down with our bike still attached and open up our back hatch area. Now, unfortunately with how long this door is we aren't able to open it all the way, because we would make contact with our handlebar. more

Today on our 2015 Chrysler Town , Country we're doing a test fit of the Thule Roadway hanging-style 2-bike rack. That part number is TH912XTR. Now we already have our bike secured down. We're first going to show you how we do that. We've got two cradles in place with three straps altogether, two on our frame here and one as our anti-sway strap in the back. Now, because our pin is here, closer to the vehicle and we have it at the 4-bike, I suggest you get an extra set of hands to help you tilt it down. We're going to lift up slightly on the bike rack, and then I'll pull the pin out and we'll tilt it down, just like so. more

Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Chrysler Town and Country ETTHT2P-2- Video
Hey there! Today in our shop, we've got a 2016 Chrysler Town and Country, and we'll be taking a look at the Thule T2 Pro 2-bike rack for 2" hitches. It's a platform-style rack. Part number on it is TH9034. You can see I've already got a bike up in our T2, and I want to go over a few things with you while it's in place. We've got our bike secured here at the rear in this wheel cradle, along with a strap that holds it in place. Both the wheel cradle and the wheel hook up here are extra large so that they can accommodate not only skinny road bikes, but also mountain bikes and even fat-tire bikes. more

So in the 2015 Chrysler 200 we're going to be test fitting the Thule 2T Classic Two Bike Platform Rack for inch and 1/4 hitches only . part number TH9045. Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Chrysler 200- Video
Today on this 2015 Chrysler 200 we're going to be test fitting the Swagman Trailhead 4 bike rack, part number S63380. As you can see we already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's go a head and take a closer look at it and show off some of the features. How the bike is actually attached to the rack, you're going to have 4 points of contact with your bike's frame. You're going to have 3 straps up top here, then 1 strap off to the side here which is going to serve as an anti-sway strap to keep it from coming back and forth, possibly hitting the bike rack itself, or the bikes in front of it. Let's go ahead and remove the bike, set it off to the side. With the straps removed it's always a good practice to actually put them back into place because you don't want them flapping around while you're driving, and you don't want to lose them while you're driving. With that done I'm going to go ahead and give you some measurements now. more
