It's not gonna give you as much coverage on turns like a diamond pattern style might, but these will help you with starting and stopping, and the roller style will keep things pretty low-profile. Ladder pattern chains tend to get a little bit bumpier, but because these do have the rollers going across the chains, that'll smooth things out a little bit. more

Titan Chain Snow Tire Chains with Cams Installation - 2022 Toyota RAV4 TC2219CAM- Video

How's it going, it's Ethan here at etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install these Titan Chain twist links snow tire chains with the cams on our 2022 Toyota RAV4. First thing to point out is that these chains do have a ladder pattern which is gonna help you a lot with starting and stopping but not so much coverage on turns. The links themselves are a twist link, so they do wrap around each other, which gives you a good amount of bite and some light snow and maybe light ice but it's gonna be a little bit smoother compared to a V-bar style or square link. In this case, they are low carbon steel which might not be a terrible thing because all of these connection points can be breakable if it gets cold but they're not gonna last you as long and they're not gonna be as rust or weatherproof as a manganese nickel alloy might be. The chains do come with these built-in cam tighteners which help keep things nice and secure and overall, the installation of them wasn't too bad. more

It's gonna help you get started and stop easier, gonna give you more traction in that case, but it's gonna be a little bit of a bumpier ride normally, and the twist links, like I mentioned, are gonna smooth that out a little bit. How's it going It's Ethan here at etrailer. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install these Konig Self-Tensioning Diamond Pattern Tire Chains on our 2022 Toyota RAV4. The first thing I should talk about before we get too into it is that Toyota themselves do claim that you shouldn't use these tire chains on this vehicle, there are some clearance issues potentially, but if you're in a state that requires tire chains, these are probably gonna be one of the better options for you. 'Cause they are Class S compatible, which means they do work well with a limited wheel well clearance, these are gonna be a great option. Additionally, they are diamond pattern, which will give you more coverage on your tire, it's gonna make handling a little bit smoother, and it's gonna help you out with turns. If you get a little bit closer, you can see the links themselves are square links, so they're gonna have a little bit more bite into light snow and ice than a twisted link or some roller styles might have, but they're pretty small and they're pretty low profile relatively. more

The links themselves are in a diagonal pattern so they cut a little bit more coverage on the tire than say, your just normal ladder style pattern chains and they'll get you a little bit better coverage on turns. The links themselves are cables or they're actual rollers on the cables, so they're gonna get you a little bit of a smoother ride compared to maybe some square-link chains. However, you're gonna sacrifice a little bit more of that traction for that smoother ride so that's something to consider. more

Ladder patterns themselves are gonna be really good for starting and stopping, not as great for turning and things like that, like a diamond pattern might be. The cables themselves are made of a low carbon steel so they're a little bit softer and they're not gonna hold up as well for things like corrosion and weather resistance like a manganese alloy chain would, but for the purposes of these chains, I think they're fine. more

Today we're going to be taking a look at our Pewag All Square Snow Tire Chains with Cam Tighteners for wide-based tires on our 2023 Chevrolet Tahoe. They feature these cam tighteners as mentioned in the title and this tool that comes with it just to torque those and get any tension out of the actual chains themselves. It's ladder-style, pattern chain which is gonna give you a lot of bite on starting and stopping. Additionally, they do come composed out of a manganese nickel alloy, which is gonna do great as far as keeping rust, corrosion, weather, things like that out of deteriorating them and they're gonna be great for multiple seasons to come. So these are the chains that you're gonna wanna pick up, mostly for off-road usage, adventuring, things like that. They are pretty heavy duty and they do have this twisted link design, which is going to make for a bit of a smoother ride than say your square link chains in the same style. These are ladder style chains, which means they go straight across the tire, gonna be good for starting and stopping, not so much great for coverage and turning and things like that, but if you are using these for off-roading purposes, you're probably not gonna be super worried about a smooth ride. They're made of a low carbon steel, which is probably the best case for chains that are twisted like this because they could get brittle if you're out in the cold and that could be a breaking point. more

The tire size we'll work on today is 235/50R19, and you can usually find that around the tire. These tire chains are gonna be a diamond pattern, so you can see looking at the tire, they make that diamond shape as it goes around, so that's gonna give more coverage with the chains. They're also gonna be square links, so it's gonna help dig into the ice, so they're gonna be good with snow and ice compared to some other chains that just go straight across like a ladder pattern, those are really only good for starts and stops, they don't dig in, but this is gonna be the best of both worlds to give you better grip. more

These chains are gonna be a roller style of chains which the dealer typically recommends, because they give you the most clearance in the back in the wheel well area. So, as far as that goes, it's what they recommend. But as far as longevity goes and using them over the course of a few seasons, it may not be the best choice. The reason why these chains might not last as many seasons is because it's made of a low carbon steel which isn't nearly as rust or corrosion resistant. more

How's it going It's Ethan at etrailer here, and today, we have our pewag Snox Pro Self-Tensioning Tire Chains on our 2022 Chevrolet Malibu. These tire chains are a solid entry level choice, they are diamond pattern, which gives you more coverage on the road, and they're a decent choice for inclement weather, including ice and snow. With the diamond pattern, you get more coverage of the tire, so you get a little bit more traction, and you also get less bumpiness compared to a ladder style chain. The links of the chains themselves are square, which is good on the flat side for biting into ice, and the way that they interlink with one another is also good for preventing snow clumping. The chains themselves are made of a manganese nickel alloy, which is gonna protect your chains for multiple seasons from rust and corrosion.
