The majority of the baseplates completely behind your front bumper. But we do have our attachment points where they pass through here. On each side, you'll have your attachment point where you would put your quick connect arm and attach your tow bar to it, as well as your safety cable attachment point. more

So a base plate kit is gonna be one of the many components that we need to successfully flat-tow our F-150. So in addition to the base plates, we're also gonna need a tow bar, a wiring harness, a supplemental braking system, and, depending on what tow bar we choose, safety cables. So, basically, what our base plate does is it provides an attachment point for the towed vehicle for the motorhome via the tow bar. For the Blue Ox base plate kit here, those are gonna be directly compatible with all of the motorhome-mounted Blue Ox tow bars. However, if you have some other tow bars, such as those from Roadmaster or Demco, there are available adaptor separately that you can purchase in order to make the two compatible. more

Hey everybody, how's it going Today, we're gonna be going over and showing you how to install the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit, here on a 2016 Chevrolet Equinox. So, there's a few different kinds of Roadmaster base plate kits available for this vehicle, two, in particular. There's the crossbar-style, and then the direct-connect style, which is what we have here. Now, the crossbar-style does still work well, but the direct-connect is gonna be far more seamless. We're not gonna have to worry about that bulky tow bar each and every time we need to hook up or remove our vehicle from the motorhome. It's gonna make things that much more seamless, cut down on the number of parts that we're gonna be dealing with each time. more

Our base plate is gonna be the attachment point where our tow bar is gonna hook up to, so we can safely and securely flat tow our Malibu down the road. What you're really gonna like about the base plate is the fact that when we're not towing, we can pull on this tab, right here, the arm will rotate, and then we can pull it out and we'll have a very inconspicuous look. Like most base plates, we're gonna have our safety cable connection points, right here, next to the arms. And as you can see, we'll have plenty of room to get those hooks on or off and not have to worry about fighting the grill or any part of the car. more

Our attachment points do pass through the fascia but you can see that they're tucked back fairly nicely to where it really doesn't detract from the looks of the vehicle. And also if you we're walking by here in the front, there's really little chance you're gonna be hitting your shins on anything. The black powder coat finish helps it blend into the area on our grill here where it passes through. So all in all, I think it's a really good look at the front of our vehicle. more

Hi there, Cadillac owners. Today, on your 2016 Cadillac SRX, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install Roadmaster's base plate. And this is what our base plate looks like when it's installed. The base plate itself is gonna be hidden completely behind the bumper, and you're really only gonna be able to see the safety chain attachments poking out here through the front. And then if we look through the opening that we did have to trim out just a little bit for, for our attachment point here. But it's tucked so far back that unless you're really looking for it, you're not even gonna notice that it's there. more
