Firestone Ride-Rite Rear Axle Air Helper Springs Installation - 2017 Ram 2500- Video
Today on our 2017 Ram 2500 you're going to be taking a look at, I'm going to show you how to install the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs. Here on our test course you will notice on our left side of our screen as we go over the speed bumps with the factory suspension setup on our weight, we get a lot of up and down movement, which in turn puts a significant amount of strain on the suspension. On the right side of the screen you will see the new air bags installed. You will notice as we go over bumps the air bags will greatly reduce the strain on the factory suspension while providing a much safer ride, while leveling out your vehicle when loaded and prolonging the life of your factory suspension.Here on our slalom course with our factory setup, we'll see a lot of body roll when loaded. With the new air bags installed the ride feels much more solid and stable, while greatly reducing body roll. This is what our bag looks like when it's installed. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Ram 2500 we're gonna take a look at and show you how to install the Firestone Ride-Rite Red Label Extreme Duty Air Helper Springs, for the rear axle part number is F2706.Now the need for airbags typically comes from towing or hauling situations, we're either gonna load the back of our truck up with a bunch of stuff, this one happens to have a fifth wheel so it's gonna have a lot of pin weight on it, maybe you've got a heavy utility trailer and it's causing sag in the rear of your truck. Now that's a negative thing, we don't want sag in the back of the truck that's putting unnecessary stress on that rear suspension system. By adding in an airbag kit like we've done we're gonna use that capability of that airbag to level our suspension back out. That's gonna take that excess pressure off of the rear end and give us a much longer lasting suspension system.Now as a by product of sag in the rear of our vehicle the front of our vehicle is going to raise up slightly. Now that doesn't sound like a big deal but just think how much pressure it takes to lift the front of the truck. When we put that weight on the back and the front end comes up we're taking a lot of weight off the front tires, when we do that steering, handling, and braking are all gonna be kind of numb, they're not gonna be as sharp and as crisp as they typically feel. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Ram 2500, we'll be having a look at and installing the Firestone Ride Rite air helper springs that are double convoluted for the rear axle, part number F2580. So on the left side of our screen, you'll see what the vehicle's like going down our test course with a heavy load on the suspension. This is with the factory suspension in place. On the right, we have it with the airbags installed. You can see when we're going over bumps how much greater the stability is and how much less rebound there is with the airbags, giving us a better ride, improved stability, and greater safety.We'll give this a load leveling capacity of up to 5,000 pounds. I would like to point out they won't add 5,000 pounds to our gross vehicle weight rating. more

Best 2017 Ram 2500 Suspension Enhancement Options- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Ram 2500 we're going to be taking a look at the best vehicle suspension upgrades for the rear axle. Now the three best options we have in no real particular order are going to be our Timbren. This is part number TDR2500D. Here we've got a Firestone Air Bag, part number F2580, and an Air Lift air bag. Part number on that is AL88289.Now the need for rear suspension upgrades comes when you're going to be hauling, whether it's a trailer or in-bed camper, you're doing landscaping. Whatever the situation is, the one thing you really need to keep in mind, regardless of the rear suspension enhancement that you do, you're not upgrading the capacity of your current vehicle. more
