SeaSucker Monkey Bars Roof Rack Review - 2016 Honda Pilot- Video
How's it going, everyone It's Ethan here at etrailer. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at the SeaSucker Monkey Bars Roof Rack on our 2016 Honda Pilot. So these are a great option in the event that you wanna transport some of your larger items and accessories on top of your roof, but you might have a rental or you just have a situation where you don't necessarily want to have a roof rack system that makes contact with your car, these are a great option, they just suction on top of the car onto your naked roof and they have a pretty strong hold. On the subject of that strength, these are capable of supporting a weight capacity of up to 150 pounds. Now, these are our 48 inch version. As you can see, it's a relatively sleek and compact look, they do also come in a 60 inch version as well, which will just give you a little bit more overhang and a little bit more room on there to spread out your accessories. more

Yakima Roof Rack Review - 2016 Honda Pilot- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2016 Honda Pilot we're going to be test fitting the Yakima Jet Stream Roof Rack System consisting of part numbers Y00426. These are the jet stream crossbars, 60" long and these also come in silver. These are going to be connected to the Baseline Tower System here and that's going to be part number Y00146. To connect it to the vehicle we had the Base Clip Fit Kit, part number Y06152, and that's going to be the same for the rear bars as well.This is a great roof rack system that can carry a wide variety of accessories such as bike racks, cargo baskets or cargo boxes. The bars have a nice aerodynamic shape to them and that couple with the rubber strip up at the top as well as the one you'll reinstall on the bottom will help cut down that wind noise and drag while you drive, eliminating the need for any fairings, like you would need with round bars.Removing our end cap here it can use t-track accessories with this system and instead of having to remove the strip like you would with other roof rack systems with this, you simply push down the strip in the center here and slide t-track accessories in place and then tighten them down.Moving to the towers, they do have these plastic knock-out's here that you can take out and replace with the Yakima SKS lock courses to which install separately, so you can secure this to your vehicle, and also make it key to like with the accessories that you are hauling.How it attaches to the roof. We have this clamp here with the Fit Kit, as well as this base pad, and both of these do have the padding as well as the clamp here to help protect the vehicle once it's being installed from any scratches or abrasions.So let's go ahead and show you how the rear bar gets put into place. more

Yakima Roof Rack Review - 2016 Honda Pilot Y00146- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2016 Honda Pilot, we're going to be test fitting the Yakima CoreBar Roof Rack System. This is going to consist of part numbers Y00422. These are the Yakima CoreBars 60" long and that also includes the clamps that attach it to your towers. Moving down here we have the Yakima BaseLine Towers and this is for naked roofs. That's part number Y00146. Finally, the Base Clip Fit Kit and that's what attaches it to your actual vehicle and to the inside of your door frame. more

These are the Baseline Towers designed for naked roofs.Finally, to attach it to the vehicle, we're using the Base Clip Fit Kit part number Y06152.This is going to be the same for the rear bars as well. These are great sturdy cross bars for your roof, and car carry a wide variety of accessories such as bike racks, cargo carriers, excuse me, cargo baskets, and cargo boxes.While, they are exceptionally sturdy, they do cause noise while you drive. Now, you can purchase fairings that you can find on etrailer.com to help cut down that wind noise and drag, or you can upgrade to the Yakima core bars that also utilize this tower system.Moving onto the towers themselves, at the end caps here, we do have these plastic portions that can be removed and replaced with the Yakima SKS Lock Core System, so you can secure it to your vehicle and make it key to like with the accessories that you're hauling.Removing our end cap here you can see how everything attaches to the vehicle itself. We have the clamp that attaches to the door frame, as well as the pad underneath. So, your vehicle isn't going to get damaged or scratched once this is installed, because the clamp is also padded once it's being installed.So, let's go ahead and show you how the rear bar gets put into place. more
