Today on our 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee, we are doing a test fit of a Carpod, walled, cargo carrier. It is 23 by 47 inches, and is designed to work with two inch hitches. The weight capacity on this is 450 pounds. The first thing we are going to do is take a few measurements. Our ground clearance is going to be about 18 inches. That's because on the back here we have got that nice raised shank. That is going to lift the cargo carrier even higher than your hitch. more

Stromberg Carlson Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee- Video
Today on our 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee, we're doing a test fit of the Stromberg-Carlson 23x60 Cargo Carrier. This part number is CC-100. It has a 500 pound weight capacity and is designed to work with 2 inch hitches. The first thing we're going to do is take a few measurements. Our ground clearance here to the bottom of this bolt is going to be about 10 1/2 inches there. Overall, to the back of the vehicle, we're adding about 28 inches, and our closest point is going to be about 4 1/2 inches away there. Now with our Grand Cherokee, we have dual exhaust. It comes just about straight out on either side, and it's about 8 1/2 inches away, so just be aware if you want to carry any heat-sensitive materials to avoid this region and the same region on the other side. Next thing we'll check is our hatch clearance. more

Today on our 2015 Jeep Cherokee, we're test fitting the Maxxtow 21 by 48 Aluminum Cargo Carrier. This has been designed for use in 2-inch hitches. Thanks to the steel shank that's going to run all the way through the middle here, it still offers a 500-pound weight capacity. Part number on it is MT70422. Now you can see we've got a nice aluminum based platform here. It's going to have the six rounds that run through to allow us to lay our gear on there and support it but still has a lot of areas where that can fall down through so we don't have the dirt, water and debris and stuff like that building up on top. Around the outside edge, we've got good places here to attach our safety chains on the front and the back with all four corners so we can get everything secured down to it. more

Today on our 2015 Jeep Cherokee, we're testing the 23 by 47 Carpod. This is a walled cargo carrier, also folds up against the rear of the vehicle. Part number on it is M2205. Now the Carpod, kind of different from a lot of the cargo carriers that we see. See it's got these nice high sides that are going to go all the way around. It's going to be about 21 and three quarters of an inch raised, which gives us a lot of stability for side to side and front to back loads. more

Today on our 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee we're going to be doing a test fit of the Sport Rack Vista cargo carrier. This cargo carrier is going to measure 20" wide by 60" long, be of steel construction, and have a 500 pound weight capacity. You can see that it's going to have that 2" shank for your 2" receivers only, and it's going to be part number SR9849. Let's go ahead and get it fitted onto the back of our vehicle into our 2" receiver. Simply slide your shank into your receiver and then we'll line up those pinholes. Once you have it lined up, slide in that anti-rattle bolt and thread it in as far as you can by hand. Once you have it threaded in as far as you can by hand, take that 3/4" socket and tighten it down the rest of the way. more

This does come with your anti-rattle bolt as well, and if you like to obtain a locking anti-rattle bolt, you can get it on our website. It's going to be part number SR0901 for the Sport Rock locking anti-rattle bolt. Let's go ahead and pull this anti-rattle bolt out of here. We're going to get it fitted onto our Jeep. First thing you'll do is insert your shank into your receiver and line up your pinholes. more

Curt 17x46 Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2014 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited- Video
Today on our 2014 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited we're going to be doing a test fit on the 17 by 46 CURT compact cargo carrier. Now they've designed this to be easily used with 1-1/4" or 2" hitches. Has a 500 pound weight capacity and the part number on it is C18145. Now to begin our test fit we'll slide the shank of the carrier right into the receiver tube of our hitch. Then going to line up our threaded hole with our hitch pinhole. Once we have those in line we'll take the provided anti-rattle bolt and we're going to thread this on through. Now with that hand tight you'll notice, got some movement and some play to our carrier there so now it's time to use our wrench. more

Pro Series Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2014 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited- Video
Today on our 2014 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, we are going to be doing a test fit on the 31x47 Pro Series Solo Cargo Carrier. They've designed this for use in 2 inch hitches and offers a 400 pound weight capacity. The part number on it is PS1040100. As you can see, it's kind of the larger carriers that we offer, if you have a buddy around grab him to help you, if not I'd like to just kind of rest the shank of the carrier there into the receiver tube, then I'll come around to the rear and lift up and push in at the same time. We are now going to line up our hole that is here in the shank with our pinch hole in the receiver tube. With those in line, we'll take a standard five eights pin, we are going to slide it through and we'll secure it on the other side with the clip. Now the pin and clip are sold separately, if you don't already have one, we've got them listed on the website part number PC3. Let's take a look here and see what we've got. more

Curt 19x60 Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee- Video
Today on our 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee, we are going to be doing a test fit on a Curt 19x60 Folding Cargo Carrier. Now this is designed for use with two inch hitches and it has a nice aluminum construction. Even with the aluminum construction it does still rate it out to a 500 pound weight capacity though. Part number on it is C18100. To begin the test fit we'll slide the shank of the carrier into the receiver tube of our hitch. We'll line up our pin hole here with our hitch pin hole. Now this is one of the lighter cargo carriers that we offer because of it's aluminum construction, if weight is going to be an issue of getting it loading and unloading this maybe a really good choice for you. more

It's been designed for use in two inch hitches and it's going to offer us a 450 pound weight capacity. Part number on it 59550. To begin our test fit, we're going to slide the shank of the carrier into the receiver tube of our hitch. We'll then line up our threaded hitch pin hole with our or our threaded hole rather with our hitch pin hole. Hollywood Racks Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2004 Jeep Wrangler- Video
Today on our 2004 Jeer Wrangler, we are going to do a test fit on the Hollywood Racks 151/2x55 add on style cargo carrier. Now part number on it is HR1485. We are using it as a stand alone cargo carrier here. It offers 220 pound weight capacity. This can easily be added to the back of the Hollywood rack sport rider or sport rider two or Se2 and that configuration you are going to be limited to a 90 pound weight capacity. To begin our test fit we are just going to slide the shank of the carrier into the receiver tube of our hitch then line up our pin hole with our hitch pin hole. With those in line we'll take a standard five eights pin and slide this through and we'll secure it on the other side with our clip. more

Hollywood Racks Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee- Video
Today on our 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee we're going to be doing a test fit on the Hollywood Racks Cargo Carrier. This measures 15-1/2 inches by 55, has a 220-pound weight capacity. The part number on it is HR1485. Now this unique cargo carrier will allow us to use it as a stand-alone carrier as we have here but it will also go directly onto the rear of the Hollywood Racks HR1450 or the 1400, HR1400, if you remove the 2-bike addition. Using it as a stand-alone carrier as we have it today, we're just going to slide the shank of the carrier into the receiver tube of our hitch. We'll line up our pin hole with our hitch pin hole. That done, we'll take our standard 5/8 pin and slide that through and secure it on the other side with a clip. Now the pin and clip are sold separately. more
