As you can see, you can see part of the cross tube. This is going to be a class III. It's going to be two inch by two inch. Your hitch pin hole here in the back is going to be 5/8 inch in diameter. Trailer Hitch Installation - 2011 Ford Explorer - Curt- Video
Today on our 2011 Ford Explorer, we'll be installing the Curt trailer hitch receiver in a Class 3 with a 2 inch opening, part number C13100. Here's what our hitch looks like installed on our vehicle. Now we'll go ahead and give you a couple measurements in helping you choose a couple accessories for your hitch, such as a ball mount, a bicycle rack or a cargo carrier.From the center of thehitch pin hole to the outer most edge of the bumper is approximately 4 1/2 inches. From the top of the opening in the receiver to the ground is approximately 16 1/4 inches. Now let's go ahead and install our hitch. You'll need to begin by putting a safety strap up to support our exhaust once we remove 3 exhaust hangers. Once we have the safety strap in place, we'll go ahead and use a little spray lubricantand a largepry bar to remove the 3 rubber exhaust hangers from the rear. One at each side that holds each muffler on. more

From the center of the hitch pinhole to the outermost part of the bumper is 3 inches. From the top of the receiver tube to the ground is 15 inches.
