Rob: Rob here at etrailer.com, and today we're going to be taking a look at the best hitch options for your 2000 through 2013 Chevrolet Impala. Up top here, we're going to have our CURT, which is going to be a Class 2. Then right below that, we're going to have our Draw-Tite, which is also going to be a Class 2.If I we're looking for a hitch for my Impala, I would go with the Draw-Tite, but let's take a closer look at both of our hitches. Now the first thing you might notice is that both of our hitches are going to look very similar and have a very similar design. That's partially because they're going to install exactly the same way. They're going to use factory mounting locations and we're not going to have to drill or cut anything, but we are going to have to fish wire some hardware in place and lower our exhaust.One of the only differences that you're really going to notice is going to be the collar on the end of the receiver tube. more

Here are a couple of measurements that will assist you in selecting accessories for your new hitch. From the center of the pin hitch hole to the outer most point of the bumper is 7. From the top of the receiver tube to the ground is 13-3/4 . Now lets go ahead with our installation. Before we can install our hitch we will need to remove the exhaust. more
