Trailer Hitch Installation - 2003 Ford Van - Draw-Tite- Video
Speaker 1: Today in our 2003 Ford van, we will be having a look at, and installing, the Draw-Tite Max Frame Class Three trailer hitch receiver, part number 75703.Our hitch sticks out past our bumper a little bit, and we have adequate clearance around the receiver opening from any part of the vehicle, which means this hitch is gonna work great for basically every hitch-mounted accessory on the market.We have two holes on the side of our receiver. The larger one that's closest to the front of the vehicle, that's our industry standard, five eights of an inch diameter hitch pin hole to secure hitch-mounted accessories. You can pick up the hitch pin and clip on our website as part number PC3. Closer to the rear of the receiver, that's a smaller hole for a J-Pin stabilization device. What that does is take away the annoying shaped plane rattle out of what you have inserted into your receiver. We have those available separately on our website as well.Welded on the end of our receiver we have this nice collar here to help give us a more finished look and to help reinforce our receiver opening. more

Now, since this is a class four hitch, it is extremely heavy duty. Curt Trailer Hitch Installation - 2003 Ford Van 13053- Video
Speaker 1: Today, in our 2003 Ford van, we'll be having a look at and installing the Curt Class three trailer hitch receiver, part number 13053. Now we found that this hitch works great for people that have cargo vans, for construction companies or service companies, for towing trailers. Or if you have a conversion van, such as this one which is meant to carry a lot of passengers, it works great for hauling your cargo in a cargo carrier, towing a trailer or using a bike rack to get to your destination.Our hitch tucks up nicely against our real bumper here, making it easy for us to hook up to our trailer. On the side of our hitch, you'll find our industry standard, five eighth of an inch diameter pin hole to secure any of our hitch mounted accessories.Welded onto the bottom of our receiver and the frame of our hitch, we have our plate style inaudible 00:00:49. Fairly decent size opening so we shouldn't have much problem, if any, hooking up our safety chains from our trailer onto our hitch. We have this nice welded on collar to give us a more finished appearance on our hitch and to reinforce the receiver opening.This hitch features a 500 pound tongue weight rating, which is the amount forcing down. more

Now this is a class five extreme duty hitch. It's also reinforced on the outside so when you're towing a heavy trailer you don't have to worry about the hole becoming elongated from the pulling and the breaking action of you slowing down and accelerating. more

Best 2003 Ford Van Hitch Options- Video
Today we're going to be taking a look at the best hitch options for your 2003 Ford E-Series van. When looking for a hitch on our website, you'll find that these are the three most popular hitches. On top here we have our CURT class 4, part number 14055. The second, we have our Draw-Tite class 3, which is part number 75703. Here we have our CURT class 3, which is going to be part number 13053. Now one of the main things you're going to notice at first is the design, where the CURT has a square tube and the Draw-Tite is a round tube design. The Draw-Tite does have the round tube design and it follows into the receiver tube, which has a little rounded edge on it. more

Today on our 2003 Ford van, we'll be installing the CURT hitch, part number 14055. Next, we'll go ahead and give you a couple measurements to assist your selecting accessories for your new hitch. This will assist you in selecting accessories such as a ball mount, bike rack, or cargo carrier. The center of the hitch pin hole is even with the outermost edge of the bumper, and from the top of the receiver tube opening to the ground is 19-1/4". Now, before we install the hitch, we'll go ahead and point out the attachment points. We'll have a total of six attachment points, three in each side. Securing the hitch to these attachment points will be the new hardware provided with our install kit, a 1/2" carriage bolt and block for each attachment point. more
