Rob: Rob here at etrailer.com, and today we're going to be taking a look at the best hitch options for your 2000 through 2013 Chevrolet Impala. Up top here, we're going to have our CURT, which is going to be a Class 2. Then right below that, we're going to have our Draw-Tite, which is also going to be a Class 2.If I we're looking for a hitch for my Impala, I would go with the Draw-Tite, but let's take a closer look at both of our hitches. Now the first thing you might notice is that both of our hitches are going to look very similar and have a very similar design. That's partially because they're going to install exactly the same way. They're going to use factory mounting locations and we're not going to have to drill or cut anything, but we are going to have to fish wire some hardware in place and lower our exhaust.One of the only differences that you're really going to notice is going to be the collar on the end of the receiver tube. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2010 Chevrolet Impala - Curt- Video
Today on our 2010 Chevrolet Impala we're going to be installing the CURT trailer hitch receiver, part number C12252. Now here's what our hitch looks like installed on our vehicle. Now we'll go ahead and give you a couple measurements in helping you choose some accessories for your hitch, such as a ball mount, a bicycle rack, or a cargo carrier. From the top of the opening in the receiver to the ground we have 13-1/4". From the center of the hitch pin hole to the outermost edge of the bumper we have about 7". Now let's go ahead and install our hitch. We're going to begin our installation by first installing a safety strap that will help support the exhaust. Next we're going to need to remove three rubber exhaust hangers. more

Today on this 2010 Chevrolet Impala, were going to install part number 36407 from Draw Tite. This is what the hitch looks like when its installed on the car. Next, well give you some measurements that will help you out in selecting some accessories. From the top of receiver opening down to the ground were looking at a distance of 13 inches. From the center of our hitch pin hole to the outside edge of the bumper were looking at 6-1/4 inches. Now well go ahead and show you how the hitch is installed. more
