The first feature I'd like to show you, that it has the mesh bottom, so that's pretty much going to keep your dirt and debris out of your cargo carrier, and also has a nice black powder coat, that's going to help from rust and corrosion, and this also can hold up to 500 pounds. So let's go ahead and make a couple of measurements. more

Curt Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2012 Subaru Outback Wagon c18150

Today, on our 2012 Subaru Outback, we're doing a test fit of the 20x60 Curt Cargo Carrier, part # is C18150. We already have it on our vehicle, just going to show you a few features of it. The first feature I like to shohw is the mesh bottom, with a mesh bottom, you should keep all your dirt and debris out of your cargo. It also has a nice black powder coat, that's going to help from rust and corrosion, and it can hold up to 500 pounds. Let's go ahead and take a couple of measurement, first will be overall distance added to our vehicle, and I'm looking at 29" here, our closest point right here, that's going to be 8", and then for our ground clearance, I'm looking at 14" right up under here. With the 2012 Subaru Outback, the exhaust system is on your driver's side and is pointing downward, so just keep that in mind if you have any heat-sensitive material that you want to place it toward the middle or even the passenger side itself. When the cargo carrier is empty in this position, you can get in and out of your hatch, but we always want to give you the break point when you're loading up your cargo carrier that you may not want to go past. I'm looking at 22", so just keep that in mind when you're loading up your cargo carrier, that you go any higher than that, you won't be able to get in and out of your hatch. This cargo carrier is equipped for 2" hitches only, it does not come with the pin and clip, you can find those on our website, that Part # is PC3. more
