Today on our 2007 Toyota Prius, we're going to test fitting the Thule Raceway Truck Mounted 3 Bike Rack. Part number TH9002XT. Once we have the aero indicator lined up with number 7, we can close those levers and then place this under our vehicle. Now we already cleaned the surfacing where our bike rack makes contact. You want to be sure to work on a nice clean surface to avoid any damage to the finish of your vehicle. With the lower arm in the bottom of the license plate well and the top arm resting gently, just here at the bottom of the glass. We're ready to set out top hooks. In order to do that, we'll pull up on the lever that has the aero point up for our top hook and then we can extend out our retractable cable. We'll go ahead and fit it at the top of our door and then we'll go ahead and tighten that strap down, that way it'll hold our bike rack in place and allows to tighten other straps. We can repeat this process for the other side. We do find it a little bit easier to go in from the corner of the hatch door and then move to the hook to the proper position. Once we have those wheels here on the end tight, to secure our straps, we can repeat that process for our bottom hooks. Now we do need to open our rear hatch door just a little bit to allow us to place in those bottom hooks. more

Thule Archway 3 Bike Rack Review

Today we're go we're going to be taking a look at the Thule Archway Trunk-Mounted Three-Bike Rack, Part Number TH9010XT. The Thule Archway has many great features. The Thule Archway has a special patented fit dial system that is designed to fit a wide variety of vehicles. It has a quick clenching system here with these gray levers on the left and right hand side of the carrier. This will allow you to quickly and conveniently bring the cradle arms out for bike loading and swing them back in for compact storage. To lock them in place, tighten this down and pull it in and as you can see here, this will clench the two pieces together. The cradle arms on the Thule Archway also move independently. This makes it easier to carry oddly-shaped frames and womens bike frames, which means even though the bike has a slanted frame, you will not need to use an adapter bar. The cradles on the Thule Archway feature RDT technology, which is Road Dampening Technology. What this does is it helps to reduce vibrations while you're traveling down the road, helping to protect your bike frame. As you can see here, on the underside of the cradle it's nice and soft for your bike frame. These grooves, here on the inside of the cradles, help to protect your brake lines from being damaged. The Thule Archway comes with an integrated cable lock, lock cords and keys that secure your bike to your bike rack. The lock cords can be swapped out to make all your Thule accessories keyed alike. What you will do, swing the cable lock out, bring it around your bike and hook it back into the top, like so. Not only does the Thule Archway have a built-in cable lock to secure your bike to the rack, but it also comes with its unique passive security strap to secure the bike rack to the vehicle. So what you would do is you would wrap this end around the top of the bike rack, feed this end through here and this end would dangle on the inside of your rear hatch. This would clinch against the rail. This would prevent them from taking it off.To help protect your vehicle's finish, there are foam pads on the bottom and the top part of the bike rack and all of the hooks are coated in a rubber paint. Its sturdy steel construction is durable and rust resistant. It has a carrying capacity of three bikes with a weight capacity of 105 pounds and comes with a limited lifetime warranty. Now that we've gone over some of the special features of the Thule Archway, we'll go ahead and show you how to install it.
