Best 2014 Honda Civic Trailer Hitch Options

Shane: Hi, I'm Shane with etrailer.com. Today I want to be going over the best hitch options for a 2014 Honda Civic. Right off the bat between these three hitches, we're going to have the Curt on top, Draw-tite here, and EcoHitch on the bottom. In my opinion, I think the EcoHitch is going to be the way to go out of these three. You're going to notice a big difference here. The EcoHitch is going to have a two inch by two inch receiver tube opening, where our Draw-Tite and our Curt are only going to have an inch and a quarter. more

Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Installation - 2014 Honda Civic

Shane: Hi, I'm Shane with etrailer.com. Today, I'm going to walk through how to install the Draw-Tite Class 1 trailer hitch receiver on your 2014 Honda Civic. Adding a hitch onto your Civic is going to allow you to use bike racks and cargo carriers, or maybe even pull small trailers if you're wanting to get some items, maybe your bikes or any cargo out from inside the vehicle and put it outside to make more room for your passengers inside. Cargo carrier, you can get the stuff, put it on the cargo carrier, again, making more room. Bikes, we're not going to have to load the bikes into the trunk of the car. Even on a roof rack, it's going to make it a lot easier to put those bikes on the bike rack in the back.Again, this is going to be a Class 1 hitch. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2014 Honda Civic - Curt

Speaker 1: Today on our 2014 Honda Civic Si, we'll be having a look at, and installing, the Curt Class 1 Trailer Hitch Receiver, part number: C11391. Here's what our hitch looks like installed. As you can see, it's tucked up nice and tight up against our fascia here, giving us optimal ground clearance, but yet still have enough clearance around our receiver to make it an ideal hitch to use with bike racks and cargo carriers. On the side of our receiver you'll find our industry standard 1/2" diameter hitch pin hole to secure any of our hitch-mounted accessories. A pin and clip is included with this hitch. On the end of our receiver you'll find this nice collar here that's welded on to help reinforce the receiver opening and to give us a nice clean look on the back of the hitch. This hitch features a 200 pound max gross tongue weight reading, which is the amount forcing down, and a 2,000 pound max gross trailer weight rating, which is the amount it can pull. more
