Thule Raceway Platform Trunk Bike Rack Review - 2013 Volkswagen Passat- Video

Today on our 2013 Volkswagen Passat, well be test fitting the Thule Raceway Platform-Style 2 Bike Carrier Trunk Mount, part number TH9003. Now to begin out test fit, well set the carrier onto the trunk and adjust the jaws of the carrier to fit the trunk correctly. You can do this by pulling up on the grey levers located on each side of the top of the carrier. Once we have established a correct fit to the trunk, we can go ahead and connect the top two hooks to the top of the trunk and the bottom two hooks to the bottom of the trunk and tighten them down. Once we get the trunk mount secured to the vehicle, were ready to load our bike. Well lower the platform and slide out the wheel trays by undoing the grey lever located at each end of the wheel tray. more

Now to begin our test fit, well set the carrier onto the trunk and adjust the claws to fit the trunk. You can adjust the jaws by pulling the gray levers located at the top jaw, and push them down to secure them in place. Once we have decided a secure angle for the jaws, we can then hook the top straps onto the top of the trunk and the bottom straps onto the bottom of the trunk and turn the gray knobs located at each end of the carrier to secure the claws to the trunk. Once we have the carrier secured to the vehicle, we can lift up the gray handle located at the center of the carrier to swing the cradle arms out. We can then push it back down to secure it in place. more

Today on our 2013 Volkswagen Passat, well be test fitting the Thule Passage 2 Bike Carrier Trunk Mount, part number TH910XT. Now before I begin our test fit, well first need to check the instructions or the Thule Fit Guide to determine where our dial should be set on our carrier. For this vehicle we have dial set at seven. Well go ahead and set the carrier onto the trunk and put the top hooks to the top of the trunk, the side hooks to the sides of the trunk below the taillights and the bottom hooks to the bottom of the trunk. The bottom pads should be sitting just below the license plate. Now well go ahead and secure the carrier to the vehicle by tightening down the straps and securing the excess slack. Once the carrier is secured to the vehicle were ready to load our bike. more

Today on our 2013 Volkswagen Passat, well be test fitting the Hollywood Racks Baja 2 Bike Carrier Trunk Mount, part number HRB2. Now to begin our test fit, well set the carrier on top of the trunk and if necessary use the black levers located at each end of the carrier to adjust the jaws to allow a better fit onto the vehicle. Once you have established the correct fit, you can use the top two hooks to hook to the top of the trunk, the two side hooks to hook to the side of the trunk below the taillights and the two hooks to hook to the bottom of the trunk. Once all of the straps are in place, we can secure the carrier to the vehicle by tightening down the straps and securing the excess slack. Once it is secured to the vehicle, were ready to load our bike. Well undo the cradle straps, set the bike into the frame cradles and secure it with the straps. more

To begin our test fit, we'll set the carrier onto the trunk, and adjust the arms with the black levers on the left and right side of the carrier. Once we get on position, we'll lock them into place and use the top strap for the top part of the trunk, the side straps for the side part of the trunk above the tail lights, and the bottom straps for the bottom part of the trunk. We'll then tighten on the straps to secure the carrier to the vehicle. Now we're ready to load our bike. We'll undo the second set of black levers to swing the cradle arms out. Today on our 2005 Chrysler 300 well be test fitting the Thule Raceway platform style two bike carrier, part number TH9003. To begin our test fit, weve already set up our bike rack according to the instructions found within the Raceway packaging, so well begin by placing the bike rack on top of our deck lid, making sure that the bottom rests on the bumper cover. Well then take the two cables for the top and clamp them to the deck lid just behind the rear window. Well take the two lower cables and clamp them to the deck lid, here right above the rear bumper cover. We can then ratchet down all four cables, securing our bike rack to the vehicle. With our bike rack secure well now bring out our top bar clamp and make sure that its out of the way. more

To begin our test fit, weve already preassembled the bike rack according to the installation instructions found with the Raceway. Well place our bike rack onto the deck lid, making sure its resting on the bumper cover. Well then take the two top cables and secure them to the deck lid just behind the rear window. We can then ratchet them down using the knobs on either side of the bike rack to hold it into place. Well then do the same with the two lower cables on either side. more

It has hold fast cradles and a patented fit dial mounting system, making it very affordable yet having high dollar features. We will begin our test fit by setting up the bike rack according to the fit guide found within the instructions of the Gateway. With our bike rack set up we will place it on top of the deck lid and using the two top straps well hook it to the deck lid just behind the rear window.
