Curt Trailer Hitch Installation - 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan- Video
Today on our 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Curt Class II Custom Fit Trailer Hitch Receiver. So here's what our hitch is going to look like once we have it installed across. The cross seam is going to be hidden behind the bumper really nice and all we're going to see is that receiver tube sticking out.Now it's going to be a Class II hitch which means it's going to give us that 1-1/4" x 1-1/4" receiver tube opening and be really nice for bike racks or cargo carriers. But the way we're going to mount any of our accessories, see the hitch pin hole here on the side It is going to accept a standard 1/2" pin and clip. Now these are not included in the kit, but you can pick them up here at etrailer.com, along with some locking devices to make sure your accessories are secure.Our safety chain connection points going to be a loop style welded to the bottom of the receiver tube. As you can see we've got plenty of room to get most size hooks on or off.As far as the weight capacity goes, our hitch is going to have a 350 pound tongue weight that's going to be the maximum downward force at the end of the receiver tube. more

So here's what our hitch is going to look like once we have it installed. The cross tube's going to be completely hidden behind the bumper and all we're going to see is that receiver tube sticking out. Now, it is a class II hitch, which means it's going to give us that 1 1/4" x 1 1/4" receiver tube opening, which is going to be great for bike racks, cargo carriers, or some light-duty towing.The way we're going to mount any of our accessories is to the hitch pin hole here on the side. Our hitch is going to accept a standard 1/2" pinning clip. Now, these are not included in the kit, but you can pick them up here at etrailer.com along with some locking devices to make sure your accessories stay secure. more

So, it's not going to be this really distracting thing on the back of our Caravan. Our hitch is a class three which means it's going to offer us that two inch by two inch receiver tube opening which is great for a lot of different kinds of accessories whether it be a bike rack, a cargo carrier, or a ball mount to pull a trailer. The cross soups going to be hidden behind our bumper, and all we're going to see is that receiver tube sticking out. Our hitch is going to offer us a two-inch by two-inch receiver tube opening. We're going to have a really wide variety of accessories that we can mount up.Now, the way we're going to mount any of our accessories to the hitch pin hole here on the side. It is going to accept standard five ace pin and clip. These are not included in the kit, but you can pick them up here at etrailer.com.Now, the secondary hole that's towards the opening on our receiver tube is going to be exclusively for the J-pin stabilization device. more

Best 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan Trailer Hitch Options- Video
Today we're going to be taking a look at the best hitch options for your 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan. Up top here we're going to have our etrailer has, which is going to be a Class 3. Right below that we'll have our Draw-Tite that's also a Class 3. Then finally at the bottom we'll have our CURT, again a Class 3 hitch. Since all of our hitches are going to be a Class 3 hitch, they're all going to give us that 2" by 2" receiver tube opening and have a lot of different accessories available that we can mount in them, all the way from a ball mount, a bike rack, or even a cargo carrier.Regardless if you're towing and you're using a ball mount or you're just using it for a bike rack, all of the accessories going into each one of our hitches is going to use a standard 5/8 pin and clip to secure them. However, the Draw-Tite you'll notice there is going to be a secondary hole towards the opening on our receiver. more
