etrailer Class III Trailer Hitch Installation - 2018 Volkswagen Atlas- Video
Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look and installing the etrailer Class III trailer hitch receiver on a 2018 Volkswagen Atlas. Now if you plan on towing a trailer you have some nice rolled style safety chain loops here which are gonna be great for your standard S hooks. Even a larger clevis style no problem to hook that up. And if you do plan on towing, you're gonna want to adhere to the weight capacity of the hitch as well as the vehicle. And these are pretty solid numbers. Your gross trailer weight rating which is gonna be the weight of the trailer plus the accessories loaded up. more

There's some things to think about before you pick a hitch for your Atlas. They all might look the same but they have a bunch of differences. Some things that I like to think about that jump out at me right away is looks, how's it gonna look on your vehicle Are you gonna be happy with the way it looks if it sticks out a little bit there underneath the bumper Another thing is, how are you actually gonna use it So then that's when tow capacity comes in where you're wondering, well how much am I gonna be pulling with it Which one can handle the most if that's what you're looking for. Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Installation - 2018 Volkswagen Atlas- Video
Rob: Hey everybody, it's Rob here at etrailer.com, and today we're going to be taking a look at the Draw-Tite Class II Custom Fit Trailer Hitch Receiver on our 2018 Volkswagen Atlas. Now, I think our hitch has a really clean, almost factory look to it, and that's because the crosstube's completely hidden by the bumper, and the only thing we're going to be seeing is the receiver tube sticking out. Now it is a class II, so it's going to give us that 2" by 2" receiver tube opening, and it is going to be great for bike racks, cargo carriers, a lot of recreational uses, as well as some light-duty towing.But regardless of how you're going to be using your hitch, all your accessories are going to mount to the hitch pinhole here on the side. Our hitch is going to accept a standard 1/2" pin and clip. Now these are not going to come with the hitch, but you can find them here at etrailer.com along with some locking devices to make sure your accessories are secure, and anti-rattle devices to cut down on the annoying rattling sound while we're driving down the road.You do need a spot to hook up your safety chain so we can safe and legal. Now we have a loop style welded to the bottom of the receiver tube, and you can see there's plenty of room to get the hooks in place. more

Now, here's what our hitch is going to look like once we have it installed. I really like the look of the hitch, because the crosstube's going to be completely hidden behind the bumper and all we're going to see is the receiver tube sticking out, so it's not going to be a big eyesore in the back of our Atlas. Our hitch is going to be a class 3, which means it gives us that two inch by two inch receiver tube opening.It's also going to have the widest variety of options for accessories we can mount up. more
