Hi, I'm Shane with etrailer.com. Today I'm gonna go over the best wiring options for your 2008 BMW X5. Here on our right we're gonna have the Curt, here in the center we're gonna have the conscious ZCI wiring harness, here on your left we're gonna have to conscious heavy duty upgraded wiring harness. Here with our Curt, you're gonna see we're gonna get a total kit, We're gonna have, a fuse holder, we're gonna get our wiring to under our battery, or quick connects, our dust cap to help protect our connections on our 4-pole plug. Keep any dirt or anything like that from clogging up the holes. And you're gonna get some zip ties to help hold your wiring in place, with this kit, It is gonna have to be tied into or spliced into the factory wiring. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2008 BMW X5- Video
Today our 2008 BMW X-5 we'll be installing the heavy duty Modulite circuit protected vehicle wiring harness with instillation kit. Part number 119190KIT. To start our install, go to the back hatch and open that up. You want to lower both sections of it so we get access to our panels on the inside we need to remove. We'll go ahead and grab our bottom panel here. Just lift up on the handle, pull up and you can set that out of the way, as we will need access. Underneath here, to our battery located at the rear of the vehicle. Next we'll need to remove these side panels on each side to get access to our tail light wiring. more
