Trailer Hitch Installation - 2003 Audi A4 - Curt- Video
Today on our 2003 Audi A4 we're going to be installing the CURT hitch, part number 11164. To begin our install we'll first go ahead and open up the trunk, remove the spare tire cover, and anything in the spare tire well. Next we're going to take our hitch, we'll line up the pre-drilled hole in the crossbar above the manufacturer's tow hook. We'll slide it into position, keeping it level and square with the vehicle, then install the manufacturer's 7/16 bolt and spacer block and securing it on top with the 7/16 split lock washer and a 7/16 nut. We'll need to push back the lower bumper fascia a little bit to gain access to it. Now with our hardware in place finger tight I'm just going to use a socket and ratchet along with a wrench to snug it up so that I can adjust the hitch as necessary, again, making sure that we're square and level, then securely tighten it down. Now that we've got our hitch secured in place we'll go ahead and use the hitch as a template to drill out the four attachment points, two on each side, that will go through the hitch into the spare tire well. more
