Thule Vertex 4 Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2014 Ram 1500- Video

Today on our 2014 Ram 1500 we're going to be test fitting the Thule Vertex. This is a folding and tilting 4-bike rack designed for use with 1-1/4" and 2" hitches. Its part number is TH9029. To begin our test fit we're going to slide the shank of the bike rack right into the receiver tube of our hitch. As we do this we'll want to keep an eye on the hole that goes through the shank of the bike rack to see when that lines up with our pin hole. With those lined up we'll take our anti-rattle bolt, slide it in there and tighten it down. more

Today on our 2014 Ram 1500 we're going to be test fitting the Yakima StickUp. This is a platform-style tilting 2-bike rack designed for use with 1-1/4" and 2" hitches, part number Y02420. To begin our test fit we're going to slide the shank of the bike rack right into the receiver tube of our hitch. As we slide it in we'll want to make sure that we line up the hole in the rack with the pin hole in our hitch. With that lined up, we're going to take our anti-rattle bolt, we'll slide it through, and thread it in. We'll then use our wrench to tighten that down. more

Yakima FullTilt 4 Bike Rack Review - 2014 Ram 1500- Video

Today on our 2014 Ram 1500 we're going to be test fitting the Yakima FullTilt. This is a folding and tilting 4-bike rack designed for use in 1-1/4" or 2" hitches. Its part number is Y02462. To begin our test fit we're going to slide the shank of the rack right into the receiver tube of our hitch. We found as we do this, go ahead and press down that gray portion of our anti-rattle device. The way the pin's designed we can just push it right in. Once it gets in there you're going to see that pin, in this case it's come out through the smaller hitch pinhole. more

As we do, we'll want to make sure that we get the hole in the rack lined up with the pin hole in our hitch. We'll then take our anti-rattle bolt, we're going to thread that in and finally we'll tighten it down with a wrench. With our rack in this position, it's going to offer us about 17 1/2 inches worth of ground clearance. more

As we do this we're going to pull out on the attached pin, slide it in until our pin holes line up, and then allow that pin to fall into the pin hole. Swagman Titan Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2014 Ram 1500- Video

Today on our 2014 Ram 1500, we're going to be test fitting the Swagman Titan. This is a folding style 4 bike rack designed for use 1-1/4" and 2" hitches. Part number is S63410. To begin our test fit, we're going to slide the shank of the rack right into the receiver tube of our hitch. As we slide it in, we'll want to keep an eye to the pin hole on our hitch to see when the hole on our rack is lined up with it. With those lined up, we'll take our anti-rattle bolt, we'll slide it through, and then thread it right in. We'll now take our wrench and tighten that down. With that tight we'll place the provided pin here on the other side to secure it. The Titan is going to offer us about 20-3/4" worth of ground clearance here at the rear. The closest point of the rack to the back of our truck is going to be right there. That's about 5" away. Overall we've added about 20-1/4 to the length of our Ram. There's a black lever located here in between the center mast and the vehicle. more

Today on our 2014 Ram 1500 we're going to be test fitting the Sport Rack tilting 3-bike rack, designed for use in 1-1/4" and 2" hitches. Its part number is SR2403. Now to begin our test fit we're going to slide the shank of our rack right into the receiver tube of our hitch. We'll keep an eye on the hole in the rack to see when it lines up with the pinhole in the tube. With our holes lined up we'll take our anti-rattle bolt and we'll thread that in. We'll then take our wrench and tighten that down. more

Today on our 2014 Ram 1500, we're going to be test fitting the Saris Axis. This is a folding and tilting three bike rack, designed for use, 1-1/4 inch and 2 inch hitches, part number SA843B. To begin our test fit, we're going to slide the shank of our bike rack right into the receiver tube of our hitch. We're going to line up your pin holes, then thread in our anti-rattle bolt. We'll do this from the left to the right side. We'll then take a wrench and tighten that down. With that secured, we can take our provided lock, slide it on the other side here, and that will hold that rack in place. Now, we're going to get a set of measurements to determine exactly what kind of clearances we have with our rack. more

Pro Series Q-Slot 2 and 4 Bike Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2014 Ram 1500- Video

Speaker: Today on our 2014 Ram 1500 we're going to be test fitting the Pro Series Q-Slot, this is platform-style four bike or two bike rack, part number PS63138. To begin our test fit we're going to slide the shank of the rack right into the receiver tube of our hitch. As we do, we want to look through the pinhole to see when the hole in our rack lines up with it. We can then take our anti-rattle bolt and thread that in. We can then tighten it down with our wrench. Now with that tight we'll take our provided clip and secure it here on the other side. With our bike rack in this position and our first set of cradles is going to offer us about 18"-3/4" worth of ground clearance, at our second set we're going to have about 25"-1/4" worth of ground clearance. The closest point of the rack to our vehicle will be here, about the middle of that sticker, that's going to be about 6"-3/4" from the bumper of our truck. more

Hollywood Racks Traveler Tow n Go Bike Rack Review - 2014 Ram 1500- Video

Today on our 2014 Ram 1500, we are going to be test fitting the Hollywood Racks Traveler Tow N Go, this is a tilting bike rack part number is HR135. But for our test fit today, we are using an extra long shank hidden hitch ball mount part number is 80232. It is sold separately. To begin our test fit, we'll slide the shank of our ball mount right into the receiver tube of our hitch. As we do this we want to take a look at the hole in the ball mount and the hole in our hitch to get the two lined up. We then going to take a standard pin and we'll slide it through the opening on the receiver tube of our hitch making sure that it also goes through the hole in our ball mount. We'll then secure it just using a standard clip. Now when installed using the standard pin and clip, it does allow for some play and some movement in the rack. more
