Curt Trailer Hitch Installation - 2016 Toyota RAV4- Video
Ryan: Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer. Today on our 2016 Toyota RAV4, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Curt Class 3 Two-Inch Trailer Hitch Receiver.There's a couple of things I really like about this hitch, and the main one being, the way it's going to look on the back of the RAV4. For the most part, it's going to be completely hidden. Really, the only thing you're going to be able to see is the receiver tube opening. And so, it really just helps maintain that factory appearance. And it's going to be able to do that without sacrificing any clearance.So what I mean by that, the hitch is going to sit up nice and tight against the bottom of the car, giving us some good ground clearance. more

Best 2016 Toyota RAV4 Trailer Hitch Options- Video
Speaker 1: Today we're going to be taking a look at the best hitch options for your 2016 Toyota RAV4. Up top here, we're going to have our Class III Draw-Tite. Right below that we'll have our Class II EcoHitch. Below that we'll have our Class III eTrailer, and then finally at the bottom, we'll have our Class III Curt. Now, if it we're me looking for a hitch, I personally would go with the top one, the Draw-Tite, because I'm mainly going to be using it for recreational purposes like a bike rack. But let's take a closer look at all of these and look over some of the features.Now, right away, you may notice that the Draw-Tite and the EcoHitch are going to have a very different design from the Curt and eTrailer hitch. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2016 Toyota RAV 4, we're going to taking a look and showing you how to install the Draw-Tite class II custom fit trailer hitch receiver, part number 36588.Here's what our hitch looks like once we have it installed on our RAV 4. It is going to sit below the bumper and the cross tube is going to be visible but it does kind of go back and sit a little further in so it's not going to be as noticeable. Our hitch it going to give some inch and a quarter by inch and quarter receiver tube opening which is going to be great for some bike racks and cargo carriers.The way we're going to mount any of our accessories to the hitch pin hole here on the side and it is going to take a half inch pin and clip. These are not included in the kit but you can pick them up here at etrailer.com as well as some locking devices to keep your accessories secure.Our stage chain connections are going to be a plate style welded to the bottom and we're not going to have too much trouble getting most sized hooks on or off but you do have rather small hooks, just keep in mind this flange here may be a problem. Now as far as the weight capacity goes, our hitch is going to have a 300 pound tongue weight which is the maximum downward force at the receiver tube. It's also going to have a 3,500 pound gross trailer weight rating, which is the amount it can pull, including the trailer and everything we have loaded on it.If you do plan on doing some light duty towing, there are specific draw bars for our hitch and you can find those here at etrailer.com. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2016 Toyota RAV4, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the etrailer Class III Custom Fit Trailer Hitch Receiver, part number E98864. Here's what our hitch looks like once we have it installed on our RAV4. The cross tube is going to hang just below the bumper, and it is going to be visible, but it is set back a little bit and not that noticeable, but what I really like about our etrailer hitch here is the finish. It's going to have that flat black carbide finish opposed to the high gloss finish that's on a lot of hitches. So, it blends in really nicely at the bottom and it is less noticeable.It's a class III hitch, which means it's going to give us a 2" x 2" receiver tube opening, and give us a lot of different options of any kind of accessory that we want to mount up. Now, the way we're going to mount any of those accessories is to the hitch pin hole here in the side, and it is going to accept a standard 5/8 pin and clip, and while these aren't included in the kit, you can pick them up here at etrailer.com along with locking devices to keep your accessories secure.Now, our safety chain connection points are going to be a loop style welded to the bottom of the receiver tube, and as you can see, we're not going to have too much trouble getting most sized hooks on or off, and have plenty of room to make sure they don't interfere with our hitch pin or locking device. more

Today on our 2016 Toyota Rav 4, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Curt custom fit class 2 hitch receiver, offering an inch and a quarter by inch and a quarter opening. Its part number is C12108. Here's what the hitch is going to look like installed. We've got our cross tube coming over from either side, meeting here at the middle of our receiver tube opening. It's an inch and a quarter by inch and a quarter opening. It's got a flush design reinforcement collar around the end of it here. You can see that's going to be inset from our bumper so we won't have to worry about bumping into it. more

Its part number is 87697. Here's what our hitch looks like installed. As you can see, we've got our main cross tube that's going to come through here across the back. Comes out to our 2 inch by 2 inch receiver tube opening. Got a reinforcement collar around the end there. It kind of got a rounded edge to it. more
