Best 2011 Honda CR-V Trailer Wiring Options

Today we're going to be taking a look at the best custom-fit vehicle wiring options for your 2011 Honda CRV. Up top we've got the Tekonsha T1 vehicle wiring harness with four-pole flat trailer connector, part number 118427. On bottom we've got the CURT T-Connector vehicle wiring harness with four-pole flat trailer connector, part number C55106. The biggest difference that you're going to see between these two wiring harnesses is on the Tekonsha the converter box is circuit-protected so even if there's a short in the trailer or in the wiring for our converter box, it's not going to go back and blow the fuse on the vehicle. Then the next difference we'll see is in the amperage ratings that's going to be on each circuit on the four-pole wiring. With the Tekonsha it's going to be rated at five amps on the taillight circuit and 2.1 amps on the stop and turn signal circuits. Where on the CURT, it's going to feature five amps on the taillight circuit but three amps on the stop and turn circuits. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2011 Honda CR-V

On a 2011 Honda CR-V we will be installing part number 118427, a T-one connector by Tow Ready. Let us go ahead and open up our hatch. The first thing you want to do is make sure everything is out of your way. We are going to remove the spare tire cover. Get it out of our way. We are going to go ahead and remove some mounting bolts and some trim hardware so we can gain access to the right rear corner panel of the vehicle where we are going to connect our wiring harness. Pop rivets can be difficult but the good news is you can gain access from underneath to be able to pop it right out. Pop your rear trim panel loose. Set it to the side. We are going to pop the rear corner panel loose now. 0:50 more
